random dudes weren't doing this until the beef started, though, unless I have the timeline wrong. That's what the investigation would be about. If Drake had 0 random dudes committing or attempting murder on his property in the year or more prior to the start of this beef, and 3 people since the start... why wouldn't you investigate that?

So like... whats the boundary between "beef" and "criminal activity"? Because I'd think multiple murder attempts with actual bodies left in the wake elevates this beyond beef and into "federal investigation" territory.

One article I saw mentioned that some of his neighbors are now commissioning the same artist to paint their boat fences, so it looks like the entire city has some weird law on the books where boats have to be behind fences for some reason. So like a citywide homeowners association, which just sounds awful.

I could understand if this was a homeowners association thing, but on what basis does the state of California have the ability to tell somebody that they need to build a fence to hide their boat?

I'm on the fence this time. Endwalker was amazing, but I don't really see much hype for this one this time.

I think I'm done after and walker, but mainly because it's such a good place to put the story down. I'm expecting Dawntrail to be a much smaller, character-driven story. They need to reset the stakes and if they want another Shadowbringer or endWalker they're going to need to put at least two expansions in between to give the story time to build.

I don't know that a store owner can legally let somebody live in a space like that for a variety of reasons. I'm sure it doesn't pass any safety codes, I'm not sure you can technically have residential space in a commercial zone, and I think allowing her to live there might technically make the store responsible for maintaining that space to ensure it remains livable since she would have all the same rights as any other tenant.

The movies don't do a good job of showing it but when Gandalf goes off to do research he's gone for 17 years. In that time Mordor hunted down Gollum, tortured him, learned of the shire, and sent the ring wraiths from the north to hunt him down.

I like modern magneto more. It's funny, but that sort of attitude is better on someone like apocalypse.

It's fair to point out that it didn't have to be a trilogy, but that doesn't negate the fact that they had a plan in place and were told that a third of the story they had planned could no longer be used. Whether you want to blame that on the studio, the producers, the Tolkien estate, or Peter Jackson is going to depend on information that none of us have.

Dude, there are already companies that have given vision to blind people with stuff like this. All this chip does is move EEG technology and how it's used to under the skin in the same way a pacemaker no longer has to be worn outside the body. You're either thinking too narrowly or just fundamentally don't understand how brain patterns get used today to convert signals to something computer-readable if you're stuck on "brains can't talk to computers" as an issue.

EDIT: That's not to say everything is possible. Just that you're way behind on the technology and its medical uses if you're looking at Elon's atrocity and going "well here we go, this entire branch of research is a dead end."

Don't confuse a good idea with how Elon chooses to do it. Elon also pushed for high speed transit in California, and while his hyperloop ended up being a giant joke, that doesn't mean Cali doesn't need more high speed rails.

This reminds me of the guy who put something like 100 hours into WoW, cataloguing his journey as a new player, only to reveal when he had done everything that his username was an anagram for "wow sucks dick" and that was his review after all the time he put into it.

I can see that, and I'd even call them straight up bad, but Id still say theyre totally worth a watch.

I'm always willing to give The Hobbit trilogy a little bit of a pass because as I understand it the original plan was for the first two movies to be an adaptation of the book and the third movie would be a collection of all the material bridging the Hobbit and The LotR trilogy brought together into an all-new story, but relatively late in the process the Tolkien estate rescinded the rights to tell those stories and the studio was forced to turn a two movie plot into a three movie plot.

So my real problem with the Hobbit isn't so much the story as it is the excessive use of CG after the original trilogy did such a wonderful job with practical effects.

I don't know. The Hobbit trilogy wasn't really all that great. I think it's really going to come down to how much they splurge on practical effects versus how much of this is just one giant green screen adventure.

I think from a community standpoint the bigger question is going to be whether or not they continue the trend of waiting an entire year between major balance patches or whether they're going to start to be a little more aggressive going forward.

Do you have any preferences on what the core gameplay of the base game is like? Fallout shelter, factorio, and rimworld all meet the criteria of good base building games but neither of them are a third person action game like the other ones you listed.

Half the board thinks it's some grand conspiracy to intentionally reintroduce toxic users so that he can make a case for shutting the board down entirely. Realistically, and given that the title has hunt in the name, it probably happens during the time skip in the fellowship between when gandalf goes to research the ring and gollum is captured and while tortured tells them about the shire.

Someone saw the reception of the gollum game on release and really thought "hey that's a good idea."

So how close was my guess that everyone shit on for not being conspiratorial enough? Wouldn't want you to miss out on an opportunity to prove you're better than the person you just called a coward for running away after being wrong.

In the spirit of fairness, what probably happened is toast saw the entire board light up with these terrible policy changes and he made an earnest attempt to actually do something for the community by letting in somebody who didn't have access without knowing or understanding the history of the account or the individual. And then it backfired because it turns out you can't really manage a community if you're not a part of it.

Something I'll point out that might get lost in the noise, but if Hamas is trying to put in a contingency that allows them to return corpses if they can't find enough people for the first round of exchanges, there's a reasonable chance that the number of surviving hostages in total is now less than 30. It's either that, or they're hoping to pull a bait and switch where they return bodies and then after the ceasefire is over they announce that they're still holding hostages.

I think it's a shame cuz all it does is make the world of Dragon Ball a little more boring. Plus they put animal people back in with the universal tournament and those wolf people so at the end of the day it didn't even fix whatever problem toriyama or his editors thought needed fixing.

An Israeli official briefed on the talks says a mid-level Israeli delegation is due to hold talks in Cairo this evening.

The delegation is there to see if they can negotiate some "new answers", the official says.

According to the official, there are four aspects of the proposal that Hamas has agreed to which Israel takes issue with:

--The document refers to the end of the war, described as a permanent ceasefire, according to the official
--They believe it would see female soldiers released too late in the process
--They say the document references a contingency that if 33 living hostages cannot be found for the first phase, then bodies can be substituted instead, which the Israeli official said was unacceptable
--Israel believes it would be obliged to release an agreed number of prisoners from a list that Hamas will provide, with no power of veto for any individual case

A reminder - we have not had confirmation from Hamas or the mediators as to what is included in the deal currently on the table. We do know that Israel also already dismissed it as "far from meeting" its "core demands".
