Walter is just bad assed and rocks....love the actor, such a huge change from his previous roles. He rocked in that show.

Jesse is freaking awesome as well, they worked so well together. Actor doesn't seem to work in any other show I have seen him in so far, but he worked great for this show.

Mike though, he rocks. Main reason I watched better call saul (wonder if a new season started yet) was for mike. Awesome character, backstory, personality, everything.

Liked a bunch of other characters as well, but those were my favorites. Saul isn't bad, didn't really like him in the original, but he's ok in the new show (hated his brother though).

Gonna rewatch the whole show again someday. Wish I could find someone to watch shows with and stuff lol, I gotta get out there and meet people, gotta be someone I can share the rest of my life with.

3mph is considered a average to slightly fast walk.

4mph is a fast walk.

5mph is considered a power walk or the upper range of a persons walk speed. Anything over that is considered jogging (although with a wide stride etc, you could probably hit 6mph without actually jogging).

Most distance calculators will use a 3mph rate though, which would be about 20 minutes for 1 mile.

Fastest official walk time for an hour is around 5 1/2 minutes (walking means one foot is always touching the ground btw).

So that is about a good 10 mph possible:)

While I agree $30 is alot, and I'm getting really tired of Early Access as well, times are changing and people making games are going to have to change with it.

The problem is sales.....they happen......it's not even a question now, and game makers are going to start planning for them in advance.

Want to sell your game for $15?......well, if you start it at $15.....most people are going to wait till at least a 50% off sale at this point, because they figure it'll happen in 6 months or so, and they have a huge backlog of games (because almost everyone does).

Solution? Start selling the game in "early access" for $30, before you normally would have even started making any money on it...and then put it on "sale" during the first winter/summer etc sale (or just a weekly sale even), for 50% off.

Now you end up getting all the people who would have bought the game originally for $15, and a ton of people who look for discounts or good deals to buy games (even if they won't play it right away) as well.

It's not just players that change with the times and start waiting for sales before buying. People making games see that happening (And some are even players as well), and plan for it.

$30.....is too much, at least in my opinion, but....they already have people actually paying that much for it....AND they will for sure sell it at a discount. What is more, they can do the whole 50% during the first big sale...and then later do a 66% sale (even more likely for people to pick it up).

A 66% sale though is actually only a 33% discount off the original $15 they wanted.....but looks FAR more impressive, and gets the game just under $10. They would get a ton of people to pick it up at that point especially if the game is good, with the only main negative reviews being about the price.

It's basically what safeway does as well, jacks up the prices so the sales look more impressive.

I got a switch at launch after hearing much hurah about Odyessy.

I finished Odysees (but not all the after content) in a weekend....and wasn't really that interested in the after content.

So I returned my switch and sold my Odyssey for $5 less then I bought it.

Have not regretted it, and still don't now that there is an actual game I want to play on it.

Octopath does look/seem like it would be up my alley, and being an RPG....it makes it hard for me not to get the system just to play it. There is also the new Xeno game, but......I have not played much of the previous 2 editions. I really figure I should play them first.

I do agree that there are not many upcoming switch games that make me go....ooooh I want that. Octopath is really the only one that I yearn a bit to play (that won't be out on other systems etc).

I also have a ton of games in my backlog to already play.....including like 30 VR games I have not even touched (barely used my VR set since getting it).

Still, I may keep my eye out for a good deal on a switch at this point, since I could always buy one used, on craigslist etc, then sell it for most of what it cost after playing octopath and Xeno etc.

In fact, I'll go look now!

Seriously considering getting a switch for this game, but still holding off for now. Might as well wait till it drops in price, and see what the long term reviews are on it before making a purchase.

Still have not played the new Xeno, but never finished the first 2, so not in a rush, and have a huge backlog of games.

Still more interested in playing Octo then Xeno. Already finished Mario, so yeah, still not a large selection for me yet.

But...yeah, octo looks good to me.

They can in general let you go for any reason, but usually NOT if they have agreed already to give you leave/time off and have you come back. Especially if you got an email etc to that effect (anything in writing). Of course they could have you come back and then fire you a month later etc, but that would still look bad and might get them in trouble if you really fought it (and had good reason for your leave etc).

They actually should fire someone else first if they need to cut back on employees just because it's less likely to cause a headache long term for them.

Never a bad thing to have other options and applying for other jobs is your right. Sadly in most states you can be let go for any reason at this point (or no reason), which means if an employer finds out your looking for work elsewhere, they can basically let you go for no reason at all, just generally not if your on official paid or non-paid leave that they agreed to already.

We just finished out goblin campaign and are starting a new one with level 2 chars in Waterdeep.

I'm playing a human war wizard with a black cat familiar named Sith.

Pretty basic but....we have some very diverse other characters already. Gonna play a sword dancer next time, so went for something simple for now.

Fallout 3=Fallout NV>>>>>>Skyrim>Fallout 4 (IMO).

Fallouts also have VATs, which gives you a more turned based option in combat (or a combo), which has a more RPG feel. I really liked VATS in 3/NV.

Also has more RPG/Level feel..where you control how your character advances etc directly through levleling etc....which you do in a more traditional RPG manner by killing stuff and finishing quests (instead of just by using things.

So, I went to the Lacey BBQ festival today.

I may just stop going to events like this all together, it has just become redicilous at this point.

The signs etc, said there was going to be tastings/samples, tons of vendors, live music, plenty of events etc. The event is one day only and started at 11 am, finishing at 7pm.

I got there at noon.

I walk in and see a bunch of lines for people to get samples. Cool, sounds good. I wait in one, and get to the front only to find out they (and most of the other long lines) are all out of the meat samples and only have beans left.

That is bad enough (1 hour into the event), but, I also find out you need to BUY TICKETS to try the samples lol. You have to go to the information booth and buy tickets at $2 each (most people were buying 20$ worth). Thing is, there was a long line of people waiting to buy tickets....none of which knew that the sample places that take them, where out of meat.

I did let some of them know at least and they appreciated it...but it was a total scam.

Meanwhile walked through the rest of the setup. There was a big tent area in the middle which may have live music at some point, but had just had the chicken wing eating contest. It had just finished when I got there. I believe there was 10 conestants or something, but no music, no entertainment at all.

The vendors meanwhile are just normal ones from Lacey, but instead of the normal price they charge for their food at the stores, they were all charging at LEAST 2x the base price. A corn dog? $8 freaking dollars....for a corn dog!! A cup of tea?...not snapple or anythign like that, just water with a tea bag in it? $2...which was the cheapest thing you could get to drink there lol.

Seriously the whole thing was a cash grab, with nothing to do at all, and there was a freakton of people there anyway. It's pathetic, you can put ANY kind of event together and you will get so many people to show up, you can charge insane prices and still sell out of everything.

The samples? The little ketchup cups you use in fast food places to dip your fries in? About the size of a pill cup? That is what the samples were put into...for $2 a pop. You could fill 20 of those with 1 hamburger patty lol. That is like a $40 burger (without buns/pickles etc).

Crazy.

I looked the car up just now (it was a lincolon continental), and it lists the top speed as 155.

I Pushed it as hard as I could and only got it to go to 140...so shrug...it was an older model though.

In theory you could do SF to NY in 1 day, but....you would need to speed like crazy, and have no traffic at all.

If you have a car that can hit 120-130 mph and you average 120 all the way, the 42 hour trip on 1-80 could be done in just under 24.

Total miles is 2900.

2900 miles divided by 24 hours = 120.8 mph average.

It could theoretically be done, but abscent an end of the world, all roads have been cleared off scenerio or something, it won't happen.

Start off with at least a living wage based on location for all teachers. No more 30k a year starting (which doesn't increase for 5 years) in areas with a minimum rent for a 1 bedroom of $1500 a month.

Basic living wage should be based on 2x (average rent of a 1 bedroom), per month. So if the average is $1800 then living wage should be $3600 a month or about 42k or so a year.

Next alter the hours a teacher works to include 2 hours after school lets out. During those hours the teacher is available in their class to help students struggling, talk with parents, grade papers, work on homework, set up lesson plans, change seating arrangements as needed etc. Normal "meetings" are also usually held during this time (usually only once per week, probably on friday since it makes the most sense).

Currently you have some teachers who work 10 hours a day, and some teachers who literally can't wait 5 minutes for their students to be picked up after school is out before leaving. Huge difference in how much work is being done. The above change won't stop the teachers from working way to hard for the pay, but it will actually include some of that time in what they are being compensated for at least, and it will ensure the "lazy" teachers (or the burnt out ones etc), still do some of the work that really needs to be done outside of class time.

This will help prevent students from going 1-2 years with teachers who don't care and being way behind by the time (if they are lucky) they actually get a teacher who does.

Also plain and simple, if a class has over 30 students in it, it gets a teachers assistent, or it doesn't have over 30 students in it. All my classes had over 40, with no assistants AND at least 3 special needs students. That is going to burn anyone out.

Build more schools, or at least more classrooms at the schools, and hire more teachers. Hire teaching assistants for the first 5 years when new teachers are getting paid so little as well. If your paying them less for 5 years, there is a reason, so freaking give them backup while they are learning the ropes!!

That would at least be a start. Integrate computers/keyboarding skills into elementary level teaching more universally as well (it's hit or miss at many schools). I fall on the side of the "no more cursive" debate and instead focus on typing/computer skills instead.

We do need a drastic overhaul of our school system. It's not working right now, for the students, for the teachers, or for the parents.

Whole chickens often go for 67 cents a pound.

chicken legs (my favorite) are normally 1.67 or so a pound and often on sale under 99 cents a pound.

At safeway, not the cheapest option by far, you can usually get chicken thighs/breasts (boneless/skinless) for 1.67$ a pound on sale or less (like right now).

Comparable pork prices are more expensive pretty much universally.

It does get a bit complicated though since the distance between the planets and location of the planets varies greatly. You can calculate it, and they already do that to control space rovers etc on mars....but for online games etc, this could cause a drastic difference in lag.

Probably average something between 5 and 15 minutes delay. You could actually still play online games like that though, by using instances mainly. Instead of sending small amounts of data back and forth constantly, you send large amounts (which we can now handle) every 15 minutes.

This would restrict you to partying only with people who are on your planet at the time, but you could still play on the same server as people on earth, and interact/trade with them in town etc.

If the process had not been so long, and I had been in a better place emotionally/mentally, I might have considered adopting after my wife passed away. Always wanted to have kids but my wife was too sick.

It's too late now though, even if I adopted a 6+ year old, I don't want to be 60+ when they turn 18.

If I ever start dating again, and get involved with someone with a child, that might work, but not gonna have one myself at this point, and won't adopt either, not unless I have a partner at least who also wants to adopt and then probably a child over 10 for sure.

In some places Ambulance companies have a monopoly in the area, and have drastically taken advantage of this. I know Gilroy was like that, and I have read about other situations like that as well.

It's for profit medical in the US, Education, and even to some degree, the prison system.

No reason why not, though the lag would be pretty sick at first with current technology. We use satalites for internet here on earth, could do the same thing long distance, but....travel time of the signal would make the old 300 baud modems look fast.

That being said, large amounts of data could be transfered, it's just the lag getting there. So the 300 baud modem would take a minute to send a line of text. The solar system internet would probably take over 15 minutes to get to mars (not sure how long), but it could send large amounts of data all at once. So you could basically surf the web, or even stream movies, it would just have a serious delay.

As far as reaching the back of mars (point facing away from us etc), and/or dealing with rotation etc, you would need multiple satalites around mars (and of course earth) to bounce the signal off so every spot is reachable.

We could do it with our tech now though.

I voted yes, because I have made a mountain sandwich a few times. These sandwiches included the following. You may judge if that makes it a Dagwood or not.

Meats:

Ham (black forest and honey).
Salami
Pepporoni
Roast Beef
Bacon
Chicken

Cheeses:

Provolone and Swiss only.

Veggies:

Tomato's
Onions
Pickles
Lettuce
Olive slices.
Bell peppers (green and red slices)

I like to go simple on the toppings with just a bit of pepper and spicey brown mustard (on both sides of the bread).

When I would make these (been many years, I used to be able to eat unlimited food and never gain a pound till I turned 27), I would use a french roll since it contained the sandwich the best. I did not put any bread in the middle, as it was already huge and hard to bite into.

That being said, if made right the combination of flavors are pretty amazing. I still do a toned down version including 1 type of ham only (usually ham of the bone now), Salami, Pepporoni, roast beef, and usually just swiss cheese. I also only put a few slices of each in the sandwich (basically 1 layer), so it's not really that huge anymore (just use the fransico's french rolls which are not that large.

Still use tomato and lettuce, usually skip the rest of the veggies now though (occasionally if I have some extra I put bell peppers in mine still.

Anyway, those sandwiches rocked, but I doubt I'll ever have one again.

Can't find the old news reports, it was actually on the nightly news in the bay area like 5 years ago or so...but I did find an article about them charging 4k for a 4 mile ride and 8k for a trip from one hospital to another etc. I'll post the link. Could have been a different company but that is the name that jumped out at me, and it's one of the main ones in the bay area.

Mead hit it already, but yeah.

First you put the tortilla down. Take whatever you want in your burrito and place it a bit closer to you then the center. Now flip the sides over so it just covers the edge of your filling. Next take the side closest to you and flip it over the filling and tuck it in, under the side of the filling away from you. Make it nice and tight. Now roll the burrito up the rest of the way and you have a nicely tucked burrito.

Done right you can really fill it up this way. Great for making home made steak burritos etc:)

For the tortilla, you can quickly toast it over a gas flame stove top, then microwave it for about 10-15 seconds to get it nice and soft and slightly sticky. Helps you to roll it, but toasting it first gives it a bit of char/crunch as well.

Now, if you want to get a bit more complicated. If you BBQ your steak (skirt), then cut it up, it's good to toss the steak (and juices) into a pan with already sauteed onions/bell peppers. This mixes the flavor really well. Just take your tortilla and place it on top of everything in there, and the steam will soften it up, and flavor it.

To really up the flavor though, skip that last step, and remove the steak/onions/bell peppers into a bowl. Then keep the pan warm and toss the tortilla down onto the juices. It'll flavor the entire tortilla with beef juice while toasting it a bit. If there is too much juice, just drop the tortilla into the pan, then place it to the side and do that with other ones until there isn't too much juice, and then toast them all one after another.

While you could use decimals, I guess, honestly Fahrenheit seems so much better for temp control, especially when you literally have like a 2 degree range of comfort (and if you think that is strange, you have not known alot of people who have lived most of their lives in climate controlled environments).

I knew one person who was always cold if it was under 68...and would complain, but was hot if it was over 72....and would complain. Nope, nobody ever strangled here......they may have thought about it though.

I personally like it around 60-70 and i'm fine, so Celsius would work fairly well for me I guess...but yeah, it's nice to not need to use decimals to set your temps on your air conditioners etc. Wouldn't be a huge deal to change, and honestly if you even did it in 1/2 increments So 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 30, 30.5 etc) it would give you about the same "range" as Fahrenheit does right now, close enough anyway.

Try ambulances in the bay area. There is one company there, can't remember it's name, but they charge insane....I mean REALLY insane amounts for ambulance rides. And they have like a monopoly in the area so you pretty much always get them if you need an ambulance.

Seriously crazy. For a short ride (like under 2 miles) it was around 5k...but ifyou had to go to the main hospital in San Jose (from Gilroy), it was over 10k each way. Your health insurance might pay for the medical bills, but nothing paid for the ambulance.
