Here's the thing about both Sarah and Brad's edits. They are both getting very much a redemption/changing their fate edit that is REALLY good for a returnee winner. In Sarah's case, last time she was presented as the swing vote once and got Big Tom'd. This time she's being repeatedly presented as the swing vote and every single time it's worked out perfectly for her. In Brad's case, last time he was, accurately or not, presented as this arrogant, sexist prick that everyone hated. I think he genuinely took that perception of himself to heart and this time he's being portrayed as much more likable, humble, and self-aware.

With Sarah, yes she's relevant now, but so is Andrea. Andrea was all but ignored pre-merge. But with Sarah, I keep coming back to episode 5. That was the episode with Debbie's meltdown and Sandra fucking over J.T. But Tavua (the most underedited and ignored tribe) got ONE scene: Sarah forming an alliance with Troyzan. That alliance meant literally nothing to the overall season, yet the editors felt it was necessary to include that moment of Sarah's gameplay. Believe me, Sarah would be my least favorite winner of the final 8, but I just don't understand her edit if she loses.

The reason this occurs is this is probably gonna bear fruit soon.

really the only possibility that comes to mind other than a win for sarah is a bitter jury voting against her after she alienated her allies down the stretch. i don't think that happens, but the buildup would also make sense for that case.

How much did Sarah really alienate her allies by flipping if the very same ally she betrayed ended up handing her a game advantage? Brad's edit was great pre-merge but everything we've seen since is his incompetence or constantly hitting roadblocks that get in the way of his strategy.

There's really nobody else with an edit that has been thoroughly strong. Cirie and Andrea were non-entities pre-merge, Tai has often been depicted negatively in terms of strategic decisions, Aubry and Troyzan are non-entities, Michaela is Michaela, Brad's edit is about his pitfalls rather than his victories. Sarah has been on fire since the Varner boot episode with her passionate speech and was already pretty strong as a contender before that with a great premiere laying out her gameplay changes for this season and strategically following her despite being safe most of the time.

Didn't Cirie not go a tribal pre-merge? Could explain her invisibility a la Michele Fitzgerald although I do remember them featuring Cirie a bit pre-merge to show us how her back was against the wall. I think that's pretty good content for her to get as it keeps her in our minds and gets us rooting for her even though she has never really been in danger all game.

Aubry being a non-entity sucks. I actually rooted against her in Kaoh Rong because she kind of annoyed me early on and because she seemed like such an obvious winner. Now after seeing such a poor man's version of her in Hannah, I appreciate her so much more. She's really charming and funny and I wish she had more agency in the game this go-round.

I was gonna mention that. It seems more likely than not at this point because there are so many idols left. I think it's gonna happen to Troyzan too. So Troy idols Aubry out and then Tai idols Troy out? Not sure that second one makes sense...maybe Tai protecting himself on a split vote?

Sweeps end Wednesday, May 24, CBS comedies on Thursday all had their finale, better to load up the extra episode inside the sweeps period rather than a 2-hour finale on the 25th.

Hell, they probably would've done all 3 hours next Thursday if Big Bang Theory repeats didn't get literally double the ratings that Amazing Race does. And that's not a joke. Jesus Christ...

Which is pretty sad, because the biggest joke is that people actually think that steaming pile of shit is good, as opposed to, well...a steaming pile of unfunny and horrible shit, lol.

Speaking of TAR, some opinions on this season... Man, Liz/Michael REALLY went downhill, and by that I mean in terms of my enjoyment of them. I liked them early on because they were arguably the weakest team on the entire season yet they were somehow winning legs and just being nice people in general, but once they started falling toward the back of the pack their entire story became about arguing with each other over stupid shit and being bitter (justifiable or not) toward other teams and that wasn't fun at all.

TAR29: michael really just could not stop himself from being a downer and it ultimately killed his team.
like liz sucked at navigation, but when she said she really couldn't see another way around, he should've acquiesced and turned the vehicle around and cut their losses. his stubbornness when things go wrong shut his partner out and kept them from finding a solution multiple times. he was right that they killed in the tasks but wrong about their biggest weakness: it wasn't navigation, it was communication.

also, thank goodness #teamfun survived. they're keeping the season alive for me at this point.

Finished watching The Genius S4. A+ ending, really glad I watched it all. Other than Survivor, it's my favorite show. S4 ended rather perfectly, but I'd happily take a S5. Hope it happens!

I personally love this season of TAR. Only one team that actively annoys me is Matt & Redmond and I'm loving the fact that there's so much inner-team and inter-team conflict to keep things spiced up even when the legs are weaker. It's a shame to see Liz & Michael go because they were amazing, but we've still got Brooke & Scott around to carry the completely incompatible team members banner.

Brooke & Scott are great, probably my favorite team of the season at the end of the day. I also liked Vanck & Ashton a lot but I still don't fully understand how/why they became public enemy no. 1. From what I understand it's because they used a U-turn? But a ton of other teams did as well and never got the backlash they did. Tara & Joey and Becca & Floyd are very good as well.

Look at the scores. Ciera is the lowest-ranked player with an average higher than or equal to 10. Whereas Debbie, in the 11 spot, is the lowest player with a comparable average for Game Changers.
