USC has a noted film school. we should see his statue there as symbolic of his contributions to film and nothing more. Eh nah. You can just study the films during class if there is anything of value to get from them in terms of technical film stuff. He literally said black people are inferior. There is, but the point was that we wouldn't really put up something praising someone or treating them as a centerpiece of our institutions just because of some incidental contributions. John Wayne was a terrible person. You may have not known that (I didn't until I saw someone here mention what he said about white supremacy and googled to find out more).
