My ex's brother went to a Halloween party where no one wore masks and just tested positive today.

My ex was over here twice this week for various reasons and now I'm exposed.

He called his mom after finding out about his brother's test and she was coughing the whole time.

His brother and his brother's friends think it's hilarious and are calling themselves "The COVID Crew." His mom is a cancer survivor and would be considered high risk.

I feel emotionally sick rn lol like I have been doing so much to isolate and now I'm exposed.

Kill your ex as a precautionary measure. I've heard that if you kill the host that transfered the virus to you before exhibiting symptoms then the curse is lifted. Good luck!

I assume it was indoor. I went to my sister-in-laws' birthday party a couple months back and that was outdoors with about 20-25 people. And AFAIK nobody there tested positive. Hope you don't get sick.

Even if you get the CCP virus you have around a 99.9% of survival, at least that's the rate here in Canada. You fat diabetic Americans seem to be closer to 90%.

Im exposed everyday I go to work. Somehow have not gotten it. Literally worked alongside a positive case co worker for 12 hours work wont let us stay out till we have positive test results. He felt he had it and sure enough his results came in the next day as positive.

I suspect you've probably had an asymptomatic case. That seems more likely than that you're been exposed so thoroughly and never caught it.

How shortly? You typically should wait 5-7 days after exposure before the test will be truly reliable.

It was about that. Not planned but I got sick and they are adamant about doctors notes for call outs cause of how short we are and while my symptoms wherent covid related I figured might as well while I'm at the doctor.

You too. Was unintentional but I took a break from this site. Just too caught up in work with all the mandatory overtime they keep me in the dorms with the worst behaved inmates we got new a boss who is extremely stricy and I usually end up doing most of the work on getting the dorms in order so the new boss doesnt chew us out. Fun times.

Pretty good. Mostly the same. Working a lot, though. And found out that I'm technically suppose to be in charge of my work center. Don't really want to be, though... I just like like minding my business. And one of the higher ups doesn't like that I'm on my phone and switch a lot and complained. But it's fine. He's leaving like next month, so yeah...

Other than working, anything new going on?

Nope life is work anymore. I may get a hour of video games in before I go to bed. Staff shortage out here is so bad we are getting people from other units and even non COs to fill posts.

Yeah, no one under 60 dies from this. And no one under 60 lives with people over 60 or people who have a high risk of dying from it. The pandemic is not a big deal and people should go on living their lives like everything's all normal. If people ignore it, it goes away!

It doesn't sound like your description is likely to meet what is considered "exposure" .

It's borderline. If the brother was exposed on the 31st, it would likely have taken a day or two to become infectious enough to transmit to her ex and his mom, and then another day or two for her ex to become infectious enough to transmit it to Jen. It's possible to fit both of those incubation periods into the 5 days between the 1st and the 6th, but it's a bit of a stretch. Presuming her ex tests positive, she should probably be isolating and watching for symptoms, but odds are it's okay.

I think all of us at some point have been exposed to COVID knowingly or not because this thing doesn't give any indication. My job ordered everybody to stay 6 to 10 feet apart and if you violate that, they're sending you home so it's getting pretty serious. People were already wearing masks which to me doesn't seem to curtail the spread simply because we have idiots who refuse to wear a mask.
