More dishonest than collecting a paycheck and health benefits and not doing any job for them? Vlado you must have missed the post where I said that I did speak to her about her lack of work. One day, when I was swamped and she was doing nothing I even asked her if she could handle a menial task for me and she got all pissy and said she had some other work to do (which she then proceeded to not do either).

My boss employs his daughter to get her health benefits from the company. The entire office is left to put up with her crap. I am the only employee in the office with large enough balls to talk to the boss about it. I'm also the only man in the office that isn't related to him. (his son works there too and has also had words with his sister regarding how obnoxious she is. His son actually works and probably deserves a raise.)


oh and Vlado are you scared of Ulti or something? He called you out and you flipped real fast.

Really? In lieu of an HR representative(which most small businesses wouldn't have), the boss is the one to go to when you have a problem with another employee. I'm not going to waste my time and effort going to another employee and telling him he sucks; that's not my job, and I don't want any of my co-workers doing the same to me.

It's the manager's job to deal with that stuff, but me letting him know what's going on helps him out immensely. Real dishonesty would be seeing a lack of workplace ethics and not telling anyone about it. That's comparable to being an accomplice.

If someone does no work, the manager will know, trust me. Guess how? By the lack of results, of course.

It's absolutely none of your business to judge how good of a worker someone else is, much less talk to his/her boss about it. Different people have different working habits, and the only thing that matters is whether their work is done at the end of the day or not.

Yes, maybe in this particular case the girl really does no work, but that doesn't make SBell any less wrong about talking to the boss about it (the fact that she's his daughter doesn't make SBell's action very beneficial for his career, either, but that's another question).

Well the results from working hard (or working smart as it applies) tend to be better than not. So if you produce a certain level of results it is reasonable to expect that those can be improved if you increase your productivity. If you have to do a ton of different things while getting results to sustain the results then you probably do in fact have A.D.D. Nothing really wrong with that, just kind of stating the obvious though. If you don't have to be doing those things, then you are decreasing your potential results.

Vlado's original point wasn't bad, he just expressed himself badly. He was basically saying that if someone does their work, then they are allowed to goof off a bit since hey they are still doing their work. Problem was that SBell said she didn't do her work.

Then both proceeded to cartoonize each other because hey this is board 8 and we like cartoons.

I agree with Vlado's original point that if you are getting your work done, then going on facebook or something at work isn't the worst thing you could do. But I disagree that telling the boss about a problem with the company being a bad thing. Yeah, maybe talking directly to the girl could have been better, but just telling the boss about it seems pretty reasonable to me.

I don't know, dude, sometimes you need to catch a breath before you can continue working. If you're not allowed to do that, I believe you'll do worse. See this topic makes me sad because I like most of the people in it. Everyone is so mad and stuff over simple disagreements. Like, there's a lot of things to get mad and vicious over but stuff like this isn't it. Also Timjab I think you could be writing a post saying how amazing I am and that sig with Madison Rayne (that's her right) would be the best part of your post tbqh, but not quite how I meant it here yeah.

Anyway Vlado the thing is we know much less about this situation than Sbell. I like Sbell, I know him to be a fairly fair person if a bit biting, so from my perspective I go "okay he probably has a point" and if you have another view of Sbell you are likely to give him less of a benefit. I think this is less about the situation, which we are pretty uninformed on, and more of us projecting our images of Sbell onto the argument.

I'll be honest: my first impression of you was not a great one (and believe-it-or-not, this topic isn't helping! Crazy, right?), but I assure you I would not be "afraid" to side with a "monster" aka a user I wasn't fond of if he or she was correct.

Thing is Vlado, in this topic, you were never correct. The more you expanded on your reasoning, the worse your initial argument became. You continued to argue that Bell took the worst possible solution to this problem. While I do not believe it was the best, the actual worst solution is the one you're advocating the most: to do absolutely nothing about it at all. Tell me Vlado, if Bell's action had a slim chance of achieving a desirable change, but yours would achieve nothing, how could Bell's decision be worse than yours?
