My view: I've always liked 1998, myself. Disagree.

Ugh, I hate statements like this. Mostly because I have no idea what games released in 1994 or what games released in other years. Looking at this topic, 94 has Super Metroid which I like a lot, but none of the other games listed so far crack my top10.
I'm going to disagree, but I couldn't really say which year was actually the best.
Disagree. I'd say it's considerably weaker than the years around it. Of course, a mediocre year for gaming in the 90's was still an awesome gaming year.

The biggest releases aren't that hard to remember. I can probably go as far back as 1994. There's Wikipedia for the smaller games, but honestly, when it comes to this debate, it's usually judged on the biggest releases and little else.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I have a first draft of a top games list I started and need to get around to finishing up and posting. I just went by which year had the most games listed. Quite a few other years were pretty close, though. I would have no problem saying that a different year was better overall.
