new UI is awful btw.

Prettier, but ultimately flashy and distracting. would love to be able to turn it off.

Also the scoreboard occasionally moves around, refusing to stay in the place I put it upon recalling it(And its too big, the old one was small enough that I could see everything I needed to in seconds. this is just way too much empty space).

Also I've had several more skillshot glitches come out than usual, where when after cancelling a skillshot selection, my next click will send out the skillshot. Very irritating.

I also dont like that my target selection is in the top left where the old self-status area was. I'd like to be able to move that to a more centralized area on the screen, as that corner is a bit too far for the eyes to keep at a glance while wathcing the screen.

My team was yelling at me to ban Amumu and I couldn't find his face. :(

I agree with red, the new stuff just doesn't look as nice to me. The old scoreboard was a lot more easily-scannable, this one just looks big and clumsy.

I like the new UI. Except for the retreat ping. Hate that already.

Also I thought about purchasing some RP for skins because some of them look really cool and I thought well hey skins couldn't be that expensive right, like maybe 50 cents each, until I realized lots of the skins cost more than 5 euros. What the hell. No wonder more and more companies try the F2P system. People are really willing to pay over 5 bucks for a goddamn skin.

(I may look like a fool because I merely skimmed over the shop, so if I'm wrong please tell me I am. I surely hope I am.)

No, skins are super expensive when you realize they are solely cosmetic.

But 5 dollars for a single skin is also super cheap when you realize it's five dollars!

So, I would never buy a skin other than my sexy URFRIDER CORKI, but I can understand how people grab a couple skins every month.

The way I see, my time is worth more than my money. And my disposable income is large enough that I can afford to spend $20 on the game every now and then.

Really when you are surrounded by the people who cannot seem to do things right you just have to take more upon yourself.

It sucks, but it's the way to press on.



There was a game recently where our team was doing particularly bad in terms of knowing where to be.

And so I took note of and spammed the new dragon/baron times.

We were not late to a single dragon/baron spawn for the rest of that game and we generally set up early and put the onus on our enemies to stop us.



That isn't something I'll do every single game, but it's something that needed to be done that game and so I did it.

It was annoying, it was extra work, but it helped. But there is always something above and beyond to do.

I just played a game earlier today as Vlad where our Ashe fed top and WW and Teemo let Singed spoon feed them to Nocturne. We couldn't win teamfights because they were behind on farm and the enemy team was years ahead.

But I was playing with a Cho'Gath who tried to help the Ashe out. He told him when to back and when he didn't, he died. By the end of the game we were dead even in farm, which is a bit sad since he was sharing a lane with Ashe. I knew that he was as frustrated as I was, and we agreed to surrender at 20. All WW could say was "noob team."

I still felt good coming out of that game if only because that Cho'Gath was like me. No, I'm not the best player, but yes, there are going to be times when I'm more aware of how to play or what's going on than the rest of my team. I've stopped pretending that the universe is trying to f*** me when I enter solo queue. We're all in the same boat. But if you don't have thick enough skin to deal with a bad player blaming you for their loss, maybe it was for the best.

Then again, I also take the tank role more often then not, so maybe I've learned to deal with horrible lanemates and verbal abuse.

The problem some people have is knowing enough about the game to make their advice consistently sound. but once you get that part covered it's just a matter of putting in the extra effort.

It can be difficult, though. Especially in lower levels where people just say to themselves "This guy is such a tryhard, why should I listen to HIM, anyway?" I've been noticing that more and more people are trying to direct, and their advice is sound. I owe the last game I was talking about to the Kayle who told everyone to let me initiate as Alistar.

The problem is less how much do your allies know, but how many are willing to listen.

I find it's usually about tone. I admit I find that I'm less likely to listen to somebody if they come off as arrogant, demanding, or obnoxious. The trick is to sound commanding and confident without sounding overbearing and patronizing.

Nah, the trick is to absolutely DEMOLISH the early laning. I know this sounds entirely unrelated, but pubbies are dumb and if you decisively win your lane with even two kills they will respect you because all they can I see is "OMG MAD KDA". And then, just absolutely *****slap any attempts at complaining or infighting right as they come up. Don't let anyone else reply, straight up swoop in to tell the other guy to chillax and follow because the team's gonna pull through (or yell hard enough to drown him out if you want a more military style of leadership). Usually works I find.

The way you make it sound, one lane has to carry a team, while the other half needs to be convinced they can win by putting up some KDA. That doesn't sound right.

There are certainly champions created to crush pubbies into dust (Such as Blitzcrank and any given tanky deeps) but nobody wants to play those champions forever. And it's not healthy to do so, either.

No, if a sololane wins a lane convingly the lane winner saunters down to bot or mid (or up to top, whatever) and ganks. Then he babies the bad lane until they recover. It really is that simple. You win your lane, then you win the other lanes. Then you command the team because they should listen to you after you're done putting a 7/0/2 score, even if they seem convinced it was all them.

Kanz, it is not that simple.

Sometimes your best effort will only play your solo lane to a draw.

In which case you need to raise up the weaker players on your team (who whether they know it or not would have lost the lane that it took all of your effort just to play even against) despite not being able to kick the game off with the first 3 kills.

I was not crushing the game when i turned into a sounding board for all things timing related. I was just doing an adequate job for myself. BUT I knew where I needed to be on the map and when I needed to be there which some of my allies very much did not.

It isn't a matte of carrying with dominant play because that isn't something you can count on being able to do. Believe it or not there are a lot of players who are at least as good as you and there is nothing to stop you from being matched up against one of them.

But knowing and imparting the mental aspects of the game is something you can do even when you CAN'T convincingly win your lane.
