Forceful_Dragon posted... Kanz, it is not that simple.
Sometimes your best effort will only play your solo lane to a draw.
In which case you need to raise up the weaker players on your team (who whether they know it or not would have lost the lane that it took all of your effort just to play even against) despite not being able to kick the game off with the first 3 kills.
I was not crushing the game when i turned into a sounding board for all things timing related. I was just doing an adequate job for myself. BUT I knew where I needed to be on the map and when I needed to be there which some of my allies very much did not.
It isn't a matte of carrying with dominant play because that isn't something you can count on being able to do. Believe it or not there are a lot of players who are at least as good as you and there is nothing to stop you from being matched up against one of them.
But knowing and imparting the mental aspects of the game is something you can do even when you CAN'T convincingly win your lane.
Obviously. But I'm giving advice for lower elo'd players who are, in theory, noticeably better than their teammates and enemies, not playing enemies on their level. When you have people you can count on to be smart it's much easier to play in a mediocre fashion and still get things done.

After trying out Skarner in a few games, I have to say that he seems kind of horrible. He has no problem keeping on top of an enemy, it's true, and using your ult to pull someone in to a turret is fun, but he deals no damage for what he's supposed to do.

Peace___Frog posted... what did you do to get a penta (outside of almost tripling some of their gold earned)
Xin (and sorta amumu) were their only ones doing well so we had a team fight and my team was focusing Xin/Amumu down, I snuck around, killed Veigar, Cait, I came back and managed to finish off Xin and Amumu (Only our Ryze was alive at the time (Jax wasn't connected, he disconnected a few minutes earlier)) Then I chased Lux down for the PENTA.

I finally just gave in and bought Orianna. Any suggestions for items? I've just been rushing deathcap and grabbing whatever seems appropriate from there.

Should I just grin and bear the wait for Orianna's sale?
Or should I drop someone from my current buyers plan?
Right now I have enough RP for four more champions. Factoring sales, I was gunning for Caitlyn, Orianna, Cassiopeia, and Lee Sin. But I want Orianna badly. I'm considering just skipping Caitlin since she's free to play pretty much every other week. But I've also never touched Lee Sin in my life. But Cassiopeia is also hard as hell to play correctly.
Who should I drop, or should I stick to the plan?

I've only seen one Pentakill in a normal game, and that was my friend playing as tryndamere playing against a 5 man premade who decided to play all tanks for fun. It was still pretty awesome, though.

Dude, Caitlyn is one of the most common FTP champions, and even when she's not, there's always an AD ranged carry. There's not always a zoning monster like Orianna.

I can only play her when my team has Alistar because I need farm and he can take the backseat bottom, but when I get it....too strong. She can poke and not get poked back. Her shield is just stupid early game.

I've noticed much more attention paid to her since the sustain nerf, yeah. Who knows where it will go.

So is there anyone who can beat Orianna one-on-one? Her zoning is ridiculous. Every so often, Riot makes a character who has like exactly one strength, and Orianna's happens to be versatile enough to make her insane.

No. No one can beat Orianna. She is literally good at everything. She's the best champ in the game at the moment even WITH the nerf she got.
Amazing at farming Amazing at zoning Amazing at team fights Amazing at supporting Amazing DPS Even her AUTO attacks are good (for a caster) because of her passive

I was once teamed with a Wukong who started with Long Sword + pots who called mid when we saw Orianna was mid, and we went "... wat" but gave him the chance.
He dominated that Orianna hard.
But I think that was more a bad Orianna than anything.
First game was a 'success'! and by 'success' I mean the other team was 6 kills up on us but two of the members quit for some reason so they surrendered 'lol'.
I let myself get killed two times too many, but otherwise I think I did an okay job.
