You'll want the Winged Boots to be your next priority (Dracula and Astarte drop them on Hard).

Chapter 9 boss drops the even faster Sonic Boots, but those are quite a bit rarer.

Whip users and Fuma. They're as fast as the Winged Boots, while the Retro Boots of Chapter 10 Hard (same character restriction) are as fast as the Mercury Boots.

Puppet Master's pretty cheap if you can't kill him fast enough. use Shanoa's fireballs against him, it's best tool to fight him with early.

If you have chapter 11 you can kill hellmonts and get a Simon's plate, you're borderline invincible in normal mode with that.

I gave Yoko a shot, never really tried her on 360. She's fine enough, her spells are powerful, but she's a bit boring. She doesn't get new spells or abilities like everyone else, and she can't use any other weapon besides her staff.

Got it last night, so far have only played with numbers and GANON. There's some sort of weird coding issue where I can't connect with a very specific person for no reason. Any time we join the same team, it either kicks one of us out, kicks both of us out, or outright disbands the whole team, it's weird.

So far, I've tried out Jonathon, Charlotte, and Julius. A bit disappointed Jonathon doesn't have more weapons than the whip as far as I can tell.

I was enjoying this on the 360 except for the part where everyone else was so much better than me that I could barely contribute. I've always slowly made my way through Castlevanias, exploring everything, but the people I got partnered with always sped through the stage like a bat out of hell and made it to the boss within a matter of minutes.

Is there anything new on the PS3 version?

It didn't ruin the game for me or anything. I just couldn't help but feel like everyone else in the group was secretly wishing death upon me for being so slow and ineffectual compared to them. It was still fun.

All the whip users don't get any other weapons besides their whip, but it does it upgraded when you get new/upgrade your subweapons.

The only thing the PS3 version has new is offline multiplayer and Julius/Yoko/Chapter 7 already added in.

Is there an offline survival? If you have a second controller, that seems like a far easier way to do it.

Also the Chapter 10 glitch still works, thank god. Haven't see any Chapter 6 normal stuff show up yet so hopefully they fixed that.

Man this game has a sick sense of humor. I spend hours trying to get Fuma Gear and get the greives since Winged Boots weren't dropping, I get the helm and grieves and when I go to test them out in a random, I hit chap 6 hard and get winged boots.

I'd say wait for 10 and 11 until you can handle Hard Mode. Even on normal they're no picnic.

Retro enemies have sky high defense. Most weapons you find in normal's default chapters will be useless against them.

Looks like Konami fixed the glitch where soul eater rings didn't have an effect on boss chests, I just got 3 Beelzebub souls easy just farming for Dead Warrior and Gaibon souls. It took hours just to get one Beelzebub soul on the 360 version.

Either that or I just got really lucky.

There was a glitch for soul eater rings? I just recently learned that, for loot, the stuff found in the stage chests get determined by your personal Luck but boss chest loot is determined by whoever opens it's luck.

I got Boned last night thanks to a bunch of leeching Alucards who don't know that Alucard can't duck under third form Dracula's blue beams in the corner like other characters or were waiting outside and Dracula's fire killed them.
It's best to try and get boned at chapter 6/7 hard since a lot of people are using Soma/Alucard with bad equipment and getting owned since they want a Valmingway ASAP, at least before everyone gets valmingways.
