so is Boston. but Miami has three healthier, younger players, not to mention healthy Haslem/healthy Mike Miller/Battier and NY has Davis/Chandler/Melo/Amare. quick, name LA's fourth best player or its starting point guard/small forward

no way to predict Howard at this point, though if they do get him it'll be at the cost of at least Bynum and maybe Gasol too.

LAC seems a bit high? i think memphis beats them. in fact, memphis i see contending against dallas. i think they got owned by style matchup in the post-season - could have given dallas just as much hell as they gave OKC.

Denver was kind of awesome after the Anthony trade last year. they probably made out better than NY did in that trade. they're not a postseason team but they're deep, play fast and have the mile high home court advantage.

Nene, Affalo, Lawson -- not stars but a solid core. China hurts them the most but I think they'll be okay. I really value depth this year.

Lakers start the season on a back-to-back-to-back with Bynum suspended. with regular runs like that, depth is gonna be important.

PG: Chris Paul (had to do it, the knees scare me, but hes a step above anyone from 4 on)
SG: Ray Allen (And in the 7th round, I got my SG, what a weak position this is in the NBA right now. I just wanted him mostly to keep my turnovers low, get some 3s, and keep FG% and FT% at a solid rate)
SF: Josh Smith (not bad for 3rd round)
PF: Al Horford (after my first pick was Paul, I pretty much stopped caring about points)
C: Serge Ibaka (lovin that upside, gimme those blocks)
Util: Luol Deng (Decent all around production)
Util: Paul Millsap (playing in a crowded front court, the memo trade might help a little)
BENCH: Andrew Bynum (when he was still there in round 8, I was all over this. Thanks to the Lakers schedule, he will only not be able to play in week 1, and he even gets to play in the last game of the week on New Years Eve. And you know what, I think the extra rest he got before this season might help him. Stafford was my QB in 2 leagues this year, and was healthy all year and did great things, Im hoping for the same with Bynum!)
BENCH: Nicolas Batum (I like him)
BENCH: Jameer Nelson (and I finally get my backup PG in the 10th round)
BENCH: Jose Calderon (nice utility play if I need assists)
BENCH: Andrei Kirilenko (I'm a huge AK-47 fanboy. Him not being signed was concerning, so when the Memo trade happened, I jumped all over Memo and dropped AK, which should help this week especially with bynum out).

also tranny, noticing you got the pistons pretty high. as a fan, I actually think we have some potential this year. We actually dragged out a not completely terrible season with essentially a mutiny. I like Brandon Knight, Jerebko is back from injury, I think Monroe and Daye will be significantly better this season start to finish, and it's a pretty young team, which helps this season.

ALSO, ranking the christmas day games in terms of watchability for me.

1. Heat-Mavs. Such a compelling finals last year, I have a bad feeling this game will mostly showcase the new holes in the Mavs D, but I can't help but look forward to this one. Storyline wise, it has the most going for it.

2. Clippers-Warriors: This will probably be a blowout, but it should be a fun one. I'm excited to finally see the Clips in regular season action.

3. Knicks-Celtics- really, the only game I expect to be very competitive. The atmosphere should be great, it should be close, and I'm interested to see how much better the Knicks are on D at this point, and how motivated the Celtics are.

4. Bulls-Lakers- If Bynum was in, this game might be a lot more interesting, but as of right now, the Lakers have little depth, are missing a key player, and Kobe might be playing a little hurt. This would be a lot more fun a few weeks down the road.

5. Thunder-Magic: I just can't get very excited for this one. I think the Howard melodrama kind of ruins it a little bit, I feel like the magic are going to be a mess this year, and I think the Thunder steamroll this one.

if pierce is out for knicks-celtics it drops in watchability. i actually do like the thunder-magic matchup; the thunder are very exciting (like the clips/warriors) and if dwight can get it together (he posted 15/9 in the second preseason game, which is a BIT better) then i'm interested in that too.

this has turned into a great game, what a relief! this would be a pretty embarrassing loss for the knicks. at home, opening christmas night, 17 point lead, no pierce for the celts. I wonder if that would get into their heads at all if they were to face off later on down the road.

the celts are used to coming back hard in MSG though. i think it was in february or march when the melo knicks first met the celts, and the C's came back from 12 down in Q3 to win it. playoff intensity there. this one's also getting pretty intense too.
