Also, the Nic Cage thing is somehow made even funnier by the fact that it was the composer who just stuck that bit in there at the end as a joke and Hussie just ran with it. Art.

IIRC the random Squiddles interlude in Descend was also a result of Radiation trying to troll Hussie.

But as I'm sure you are aware, you cannot beat Andrew Hussie in a troll-off. He is simply the best there is.

Just when I thought bucketstuck couldn't get any better...

Anyway, this may seem insane, but I noticed this about UU.

I remember in one of these topics before I ever posted somebody wondering if there was any connection between uranianUmbra and Umbral Ultimatum. Nobody mentioned it, but there may be. Umbral Ultimatum goes with Jade: Enter, which centres around Bec. Bec has some connection to Uranium. Uranium and Uranian obviously have the same root (Uranus). Now, Uranium is a roughly lime green coour... Add to that the aforementioned UU=Limey=lime, and that's a nice string of connections.

Of course, it could be complete coincidence but I think that's a bit too much to be.

When using google to get to the UU part of the wiki last night, I forgot her handle and instead typed Umbral Ultimatum by accident, so I can see it being a very easy connection to make, whether there is one or not. Then again, as many times as I watched that video on my own and for the various video responses, I *should* be able to remember the title for Umbral Ultimatum.

As for what someone else said about Hussie making stuff up as he goes along in addition to his regular planning, I'm convinced that he also saves some of the wackiest yet scarily appropriate fan theories and pulls at least one out of his hat for every sound file. The whole start of the site was based on him taking/manipulating people's suggestions, after all. That's why I try to stay away from IDE threads. Some things don't have the same impact if someone calls it 6 months prior and you've been expecting it.

The reaction video for Drillgorg in S Jade Enter is a good example of that. While few have reactions quite as strong as RyuuAkamatsu in their videos, Drillgorg brushed off "the twist" almost entirely because he saw it coming. People will guess things on their own, but seeing so much mass guessing, you'll see a lot that won't be nearly as surprising later if it happens.

That was the first thing I said when I saw his "jadeXjade" thought panel around the same time as the "fondly regard" events shortly after Jade: Enter. Granted, that came either immediately after or immediately before Jade grabbing the sprites chest (fur) and smacking it a few times, so assuming Karkat was seeing that, I could see him feeling a little flushed. I'll admit that for someone who has never shown any furry tendencies before, I also liked that thought panel a little more than I probably should have in spite of multiple reasons that I shouldn't.

This is, in fact, exactly what he does. One good example in earlier Homestuck for instance was someone making a theory about Tavros (though we didn't know his name at the time) being crippled, and Andrew decided to run with it. He outright said that that is why he did that in the back when Tavros was formally introduced. He's planned out things a lot more since closing the suggestion box. But he's also stressed that while the suggestion box is closed, the readers still influence the story in some subtle and not so subtle ways.

I think most of us had figured that Bec would get prototyped at that point. Andrew said in Formspring, I think, that he didn't consider that to be surprising, but it was still pretty much the worst thing that could happen in terms of plot. What was surprising, for me at least, was seeing Jack in the troll's session. Everyone had figured that Lord English was the demon, and a lot of people were convinced that Bec Noir was LE for a while after.

Edit: Forgot to mention, some small part of me really wants Dark Cage to become an actual Homestuck character.

I only did after seeing the flash right before it and seeing that every type of troll romance was shown in that flash except for moirails. (I didn't predict the shoosh paps themselves, as awesome as it would have been if I could say that I did)

But otherwise no I didn't.

Edit: I saw the theory about them becoming moirails around, so there was definitely a few people (Kamikaze included) who correctly predicted it. I didn't think Gamzee could be calmed down that easily so I didn't think about that theory too much at the time.

I just figured that Karkat's line to John about what happened really pointed towards it. He says something along the lines of "We dealt with Gamzee in a troll way that you wouldn't understand". Killing him doesn't really fit that.
