So apparently some estranged husband freaked out in New Jersey, killed his wife, and kidnapped his daughters.
http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/video?id=8469365 Completely by coincidence, he drove them to my hometown and rented a room at a motel, just as my Dad (who had watched the report), drove by on his way to work at around 4:30 AM. My Dad recognized the guy and the car he was driving and called the cops. He then proceeded to use it as an excuse to skip work because he's the man. Here's a picture he took from across the street of the motel. You can see the red car in the background and some SWAT guys chilling in the foreground.  The cops surrounded the motel and the guy sent the two little girls out and then killed himself. Who knows what could have happened if not for my Dad.
