Hm, this Bane seems to be different from previous incarnations of Bane I'm familiar with. In TAS he was just a strong man pumped with chemicals that gave him big muscles. Similarly in Batman and Robin.

Here he seems to be a not particularly muscled terrorist in a gas mask?

According to Wikipedia, the mask supplies him with anesthetic gas which suppresses the pain from some injury. And I guess makes him a tougher fighter since Batman would beat him up and he wouldn't feel it. So I guess that's what they're doing instead of having him hulk up on Venom.

Yes, the media that you have seen Bane in so far do not give him any sort of credit. He's one of Batman's most dangerous enemies because of how freaking intelligent he is. Bane was the first to break the Bat, which is what he's famous for. He even figured out who Batman was just by watching the way Bruce Wayne walks.

So yeah, I'm glad Nolan is going for more of the intelligent side of Bane.

And that trailer was awesome.

Conclusion!? Aww man I was hoping Christopher Nolan was going to give us a whole series of these movies.

They still have a bunch of villains to go through. I definitely think Nolan should have recreated all the previous villains enacted so far. I'm guessing his Penguin and Mr. Freeze would be leagues better than the ones already filmed. I'd also like to see Poison Ivy and especially the Riddler recreated (sorry Jim Carrey you didn't quite pull that together). And what about sidekicks? Will we never get to see Robin recreated in gritty Christopher Nolan fashion. This makes me truly sad :(
