Yoshinori Kitase sat down for an interview with German Magazine M Games and has revealed that the title is still in early stages of developement, also saying that he would like the remake to have the same quality as the original.
I infer from this that they're doing at least a little bit more than a straight HD upgrade. Probably improving some textures and backgrounds.

This is perfectly fine if its just a graphical update (I'm sure it won;t be though). At least for me. Because I lost my copy of FFX and I think the PS3 could be very nice to it.
In a perfect world, there'd be stuff like Online Blitzball but I'm not sure what could be done too much to improve it. Maybe a better voice actor for Yuna but I feel like that would be weird now.

Definitely worth it if it has International version stuff... I've been meaning to replay FFX for a while but don't feel like going to the attic to dig out the PS2 etc. When is it supposed to be out? March - April?
Oh yeah if it has international stuff... instant buy. Actually if it doesn't, I'm gonna be pissed because why the hell wouldn't they put that stuff in there?
It takes like 5 minutes to finish that one game, and you can literally just let them score a quick goal on your terrible goalie and then swim around doing nothing the rest of the time.

Yes I realize my stance on this is ridiculous and borderline lunacy, but Blitzball is just the single least entertaining thing I have encountered in the entire medium! It poisons all around it.

I don't understand that. I think I actually prefer Blitzball to Basketball. I think it's because the idea of an underwater sport is just awesome to me.

PS1 games can't get HD remakes, it wouldn't translate well. They'd have to remake FF7 entirely. Which of course all the fanboys want, but Square is being highly opposed to the idea.

People on the FFX HD board are hilarious, there's actually a large number of people who seem convinced that this is going to be a complete remake using the FFXIII engine. There is honestly like at 0.000001% chance of that happening. If they're going to remake something from the ground up they would have done FFVII.
As long as it removes a lot of the grind for the late-game weapons (all those pain-in-the-ass minigames, having to play 50 hours of BlitzBall for one f***ing weapon), then I'll get it if it gets a 360 release (no clue if they've shot that down yet, as I didn't even know they were remaking FFX until now).

I won't buy a PS3 or a Vita for this but I'd buy it for 360. Personally the extra bosses don't interest me, they sound pretty cheap and grindy. I had enough of that from the monster arena.
Also it would really suck if they "fixed" the AP massing trick.

Why does everyone keep hoping that they will remove stuff?
And why are you complaining about things that you don't have to do!?
Because the late game minigames are in no way good and we wouldn't play them if we didn't have to. Remove Chocobo Racing, Lightning Dodging, Cactuar Simon Says, and Butterfly Catching and just put the ultimate weapons in a couple chests, it would make the game better.
Wasn't going to get the Vita until this came out anyway, so it's good that I can wait until the price of the system (and ESPECIALLY the memory cards) comes down. Hoping for a release sometime around Black Friday, someone will definitely have the Vita for $199 around then, or at LEAST normal price with a $50 gift card.
