This is a fact understood by all. Except you. You posit there is some spark of goodness inside ponies. All I see is glue. Evil glue. An evil that has left a sticky residue on certain parts of the internet (which I will concede is at least different from the other sticky residues of the rest of the internet). No, there is nothing positive about these diminutive equines. They put up a facade of cuteness, but behind lay only the purest concentration of negativity known to the universe. One need only briefly examine the universe for confirmation that equines are the void in which matter is swallowed:
Yet, here I am about to embark on the greatest single mistake of my modest existence. I am about to actively choose to allow audio and visual pony simulacra to grace my mental livelihood. By making this choice of my own volition, I have already discarded false pretenses of sanity. It is only with the understanding that sanity is nigh nonexistent among homo sapiens sapiens in the first place that I can gather the will to proceed.
It would behoove me to know the price this pursuit of pony pain will demand. An episode is 22 minutes. A season is 26 episodes. This equates to 572 minutes or 9.5 hours of cruel and unusual punishment. Even the constitution supports the criminalization of pony related media. Legalities aside, I can only stall so much. It is time to begin the end of all things decent. It is time to experience My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Help me.

I made a topic like this before, except not as gloomy.
Maybe I should finish those

I should give context for this. It is a long and winding trail.
I basically strongarmed this dude into watching this show over a period of like 2 or 3 months, eventually breaking through one night with tons of short Twilight and Fluttershy clips.
These are the fruits of my labor. One man's sanity is at stake. This show and I will do all we can to ensure he has nothing left by the end.

Would that I could say that alcohol were a key component in the undertaking of this enterprise, but alas, sobriety is the condition I find myself in, much to my chagrin. There are no time for drinks, unfortunately. Not with a pilot in need of judgement.
Pilot
I must say, I absolutely adore the direction these ponies were taken. Somewhere down the production line everything changed for the worse, but here we see the ponies as they truly are. Evil. These ponies do not bother with cuteness or cutie marks and get right down to the business of destroying mankind. Considerable expense must have been taken to add a third dimension to these...
...
Methinks this jape has gone on long enough. This clip is, in fact, the Robot Chicken Apocalypse Pony sketch. A far far superior show and far far superior pony. You should feel shame for daring to think otherwise. Embrace the Death Pony.

The gods of chance have declared that it is time for my bodily presence to experience ponies.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Episode 1: Friendship is Magic, Part 1
I call bull****.
The dark pony was completely justified in wanting to be acknowledged for her job! But nope...clearly evil. Gotta lock her away. Maybe they can invent physics so that natural phenomena aren't dependent upon the whim of a pony.
I love how the storybook is open with no way for the as yet unnamed pony to turn pages. Having hooves must really suck sometimes...unless you are a beast of burden lugging goods/people around. Theme song time!
Eh...nothing magical. Appreciate them informing the viewers that this isn't your granny's MLP show. More of an introduction than we got for something like, say, Thundercats *tear*.
I hate spike. Infinitely better spike:
Though, as much as I hate spike, I have to admit, this Twilight pony has a number of awesome character traits that you don't often see much of in a non side character.
The checklist conveniently leading to meeting each other main pony was...alright I guess. My initial feelings of said ponies
Cowgirl pony: Meh Rainbow Dash: Personality is meh, but actually being competent was appreciated. Prissy purple hair pony: Surprisingly tolerable Fluttersffmghf: Her shyness was kinda charming though the spike adoration...completely unreasonable. Spike sucks. Pinkie Pie: Hate
The plot was pretty standard exposition stuff. A few things gnawed at me though. Like the ringing of the triangle on the farm using a SPECIFIC ANGLE THAT DOES NOT SHOW AN APPENDAGE RINGING IT. I guess that is the joke, but it is a damn annoying one.
The art was also...pretty decent. A bit heavy on the cheap style that has been all the rage for far too long, but the makers of the show did some nice things with it.
My pony hatred is now slightly below maximum. I still would delight in nothing greater than them all falling in a giant cauldron for a nice bit of pony stew, but maybe Twilight Sparkle can live. Maybe.

You'll find out later that the main pony way of manipulating objects (without a horn) is by the mouth. The triangle was on a string to begin with, so only one appendage was needed.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Episode 2: Friendship is Magic, Part 2
Plot
Super obvious correlation between the 6 ponies and the 6 harmony things (props for not using 5 or 7 or 3 or other common numbers)
Sailormoon magic bull****
Though, gotta say, didn't expect the princess pony to be in the know. That was my fault for having a generally low opinion of what the show would think to do. Surprise surprise a happy ending. Though, lulz at how quick Twilight Sparkle is to pass the friendship label around. She's known the ponies for like...a day. Not under favorable conditions either. Sorry, but a trip into a forest doesn't suddenly make you bffsies 4everz.
It could have been much worse though...the mantra for this watchthrough.
Overall rating for these episodes: 6/10 Things were done pretty much by the book, but there were a few nice moments regardless.

Nothing much changed in my rankings except maybe a few more > in front of Pinkie Pie. Rarity impressed me as I realized that she has a pretty nice voice. Rainbow Dash was alright too. So they can all stay where I placed them I think. That bunny was ok too.
One thing I have noticed in these three episodes is how BUSY they can get. Boner showed me this:
Such a low tier style of animation, but with a bajillion moving parts everywhere making me think the show is marketed towards kids with adhd...
As for this episode...do I even have to waste time on the plot? The conclusion was forgone and everything that happened was just by the numbers storytelling. I guess it reiterates what each one of the cast stands for, but that was shown with the harmony crystal things. The benny hill inspired chase sequence was something I certainly didn't see coming though.
The show seems to have these tiny bursts of brilliance like when Twilight Sparkle ate the picked petals....
I'd rate this episode 7.5/10 Good, but still on the averagish side.

I've seen GitS in japanese with english subtitles, yes. I don't do dubs much. I am sure she was alright with the tachikoma though. Those things were too cute <3

I am thinking of what I want to say for this episode, but I am realizing that I am getting more and more tired and am still pressing on and typing this.
This episode has taught me nothing.
It was, however, the best episode of the 4 I have seen because it centered on a pony magnificently pushing themselves to greater and greater abuse! All of ponyville got to suffer as an extra bonus! <3
On a more mundane front, lol male voice acting. Twilight Sparkle alliteration at the end was nice too.
But really, this episode was all about the deliciously sweet pony abuse. Applejack should burn in a boiling stew pot for daring to sync up with Pinkie Pie, even if it was only for a few seconds!
Rating: 11/10

You could just leave FiM off. pretty sure everyone knows what pony show people are talking about when you say My Little Pony.
Anyway...some kind of pony show watching is going on here..
Episode 5: The sad little ignored pony who committed suicide because she was all alone
<3 the opening. <3<3<3
You have Pinkie Pie annoying ponies leading to more pony abuse! The show creators are after me own heart!
*theme song*
No no no...episode...stop...no...you are not allowed to give a prankster personality trait to Pinkie Pie. RD running from her was the appropriate response!
Though...ponies pranking ponies IS kinda fun. As a bonus, Pinkie Pie gets to suffer too!
And then suddenly griffons. Well, a griffon. May the wall carefully built up come CRASHING down on Pinkie Pie muwahahaa!
...I like this griffon. She bullies stupid ponies and doesn't afraid of anything. My only concern is that this is going to have a happy resolution ;_;
"I'm a year older than you" - Fluttershy demonstrating that she is indeed superior to Pinkie Pie
And ok, the griffon kinda sucks, but at least she hates ponies. Stupid ponies apologizing to Pinkie Pie...stupid happy conclusion...
Rating: 7/10 The ending dragged it down and it wasn't about Pinkie Pie being ignored at all!

Episode 6: Braggart Beaten by Bear Babied by Bookworm
So, every pony has a special talent. Reminds me of the Xanth series. I miss Xanth...I should catch up some time. Essantially, Xanth takes place in the magical land of Definitely Not Florida (well, it doesn't call it that, but look at the map of Xanth some time...author kinda snuck it in and the Florida shape became a thing). Xanth is pretty much built on two things: magic and puns. Good book series. Do I have to go back to talking about ponies now? ;_;
Ok...so we are establishing Twilight Sparkle as super god queen of magic. I can live with that.
Can't say I am a fan of the blue pony, but lol pony bondage (or maybe not lol because that has some connotations that frankly scare me)
Also, Twilight is being an idiot, but then the plot of this episode mandates that I guess, nothing against her, just stupid writers >_>;;
blah blah bears blah blah
Spike with a mustache > Spike
Ranking: 7.5/10 Still kinda average, and Twilight being stupid about magic was annoying.
