Im afraid Im not incredibly familiar with actual musical stuff like meter, rhythm, etc. so I will have to focus other stuff like what face I have while listening to stuff. =o
#100: PoryGoon - Pokemon Red Main Screen Remix Recommended by: Orochimaru_Fan Favorite Part: 4:25 4:31
I feel like it wouldnt be fair to the other tracks if this wasnt last. Laughed my ass off the first time at this song but I had a feeling it wouldnt continue. And it didnt. It only took until about five minutes in until I got tired of it. And I was actually dreading the second listen. The humor doesnt last long for me personally and its only funny because of how awful it is. Not to mention, after going on for a while I happened to look at the track time and found that its ****ing eight minutes long. In some way the absurd length adds to what little humor there is left after a while.
The favorite part listed is when he starts the rival theme which I always liked better than the other Pokemon RBY tracks. At this moment Id have to say its top three from the game along with Pokemon Tower and E4 (I might retract this statement later). Rival theme has exactly what you expect knowing what you know about your cocky rival. It has swag and makes you feel like a loser when you realize its your rivals theme for not having a cool theme song of your own. Unfortunately here, the magic only lasts for around six seconds because PoryGoon just brings up your hope thinking this could be halfway decent and then it all comes crashing down in a mess of high-pitched nonsense.
#99: Akitaka Tohyama Aim to Win Recommended by: NioraptH
Favorite Part: 0:00-0:02
This is how I usually feel about techno/trance songs or stuff that sounds like this. If youre actually in a club/at a rave they can be fine because its dancing music and youre not listening to get some emotional reaction or whatever. But I dont feel like its listening music. Theyre usually too repetitive, dont really have any standout parts, have uninspiring lyrics (if any) and if Im listening to music casually theres a lot I would want to listen to before this genre. Basically, they should stay in the club. And TTT2 is not a club yet.
Favorite part is those opening two seconds. First because I like that glitchy sound and its the two seconds of calm before everything kicks in, filling my head with images of people yelling over the obnoxiously loud music trying to be heard, flashing lights and all. dat. grinding.
#98: The Monopoly Song Recommended by: Emporer_Kazbar Favorite Part: 0:29-0:30
I honestly had no idea Monopoly ever had a song. Stay free, me. Not as catchy as I would like especially for such a short song. But that Lets play at the end has a hilariously creepy vibe to it. Like it knows exactly what kind of ferocious backstabbing hell youre going to be in for the next 3+ hours.
This doesnt do as much for me as I would like it to. I thought it would bring up feelings of nostalgia and all those memories of the fun times playing Monopoly. But it didnt. And Im not sure if thats because I can count the number of Monopoly games Ive actually finished on one hand or because all those resurfacing feelings of nostalgia are suffocated by the cruel nature of the game itself where your aim is to bankrupt all other players. Normally that would bring a warm fuzzy feeling to my heart but it doesnt in this case. Monopolies are terrible things unless youre the one making the money and more often than not, I wasnt the one making the money.

Ill start out by saying Im not a big fan of blink. Its the band Ive most heard proclaimed as the best by underexposed teenagers who dont listen to anything but the radio. That said, I was expecting the worst going in but it wasnt too bad. I do get a bit of Beach Boys vibe from it. One thing I do like is that it takes an accident and sings about it in a light-hearted manner. Something that people who dont understand English would think is a happy song. But apart from that I really dont care about the subject matter. It brings up images of arrogant greasy teenagers and a consequence of their irresponsible actions. Im a no fun kind of guy. So Im sorry you crashed your car but go bother someone else about it.
Favorite part is just the exposition because thats the peak moment of my interest in the song. Chorus doesnt really catch me and Im not a fan of the break where hes talking to the doctor because I generally dont like talking in songs.
A bit glitchy sounding for me but I can deal with it. I played Pokemon TCG and I dont remember the music at all. I actually dont even remember who this guy is It has been a WHILE since I played this game. My problem with this piece is that I dont feel anything when Im listening to it. Not good but not bad either. Its just there. I think it might be the track on this list that Im most indifferent to.
Every five rankings, I'll post the "user rankings" and who's in the lead with how many songs they have left with their average ranking next to them when they're all out. First place gets my sig for whenever. If they don't want it, we can decide on something else.
How do you not remember Imakuni? He was like, the most memorable part of the game! Usually people would remember a pedophile dancing in the corner dressed up as a bee with funky theme music who gives you a **** ton of cards when you beat him.
It's probably just me, though.

I seriously remember nothing about this game. I played through it in about a week and didn't touch it again. And that sounds like my Thursday night. =o
#95: New Jack Takurou - Gosei Sentai Dairanger Recommended by: Mega Mana Favorite Part: 0:33-0:40
The Yellow Ranger is a dude! When I listen to it, all I want to do is go listen to the American Power Rangers song. Maybe I shouldnt be comparing them but I cant help it. Because it is a theme song, unless theres some nostalgia attached to it, I dont see myself rating it very highly because theres not a whole lot to go on here. There is a very eastern vibe here. Add robot dragons to that and we got ourselves some POWER RANGERS.
About the favorite part: Anything following three drum sounds should be awesome and this part does not disappoint.
#94: Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - Boss Theme Recommended by: igoredebraga Favorite Part: 0:00-0:06
I played Jazz Jackrabbit 2 a lot when I was a kid because that was like the only game they had at this afterschool I went to. And I never remembered the music. This one just seems to pale in comparison to the other VG stuff. Very repetitive and you notice it. Im not sure if the skips are part of the track or just the quality of the link but its not doing it any favors either. But it does make me want to go outside and kill something so I think thats a job well done.
#93: Crash Bandicoot Music Video Recommended by: Orochimaru_Fan Favorite Part: Chorus
Shoutouts to underage looking Asian women. This is silly enough where I can just take it at face value. Theres no deep underlying metaphor about the human condition that I have to worry about misinterpreting or is there but its a fun little song about everyones favorite has-been. I dont take it as seriously as the other songs and am not going to be as critical but it still doesnt stack up to a lot of the other tracks on the list. It doesnt get overly annoying until excessive listens as far as I can tell.

#92: DMX the Tank Get It On the Floor Recommended by: mcflubbin Favorite Part: 2:49-2:58
I generally dont like mash ups because theyre cool for a while but a lot of the time I would rather go listen to the original versions and theres no guarantee that it doesnt sound like a convoluted cluster**** of a bunch of sounds rather than an actual song. The mix a kid shows theme song with explicit lyrics isnt a new concept and while I certainly wouldnt have imagined that such a combination ike DMX/Thomas would have existed Im not surprised in the least. Im not sure if its aiming for funny but it wasnt to me. Its an okay song though and I do like Get It On The Floor.
I think the chorus sounds awful especially at the beginning; it doesnt fit with the beat at all imo. It gets a little better when it gets to the actual verses and the more I listen to it, the more I can get some sort of coherence in flashes. Third verse where he starts All my mutha****in life Ive been the devils advocate was a favorite part in the original and that remains true here. The train noises can be heard going along with the beat and it makes for a nice nine seconds before were brought back to the awful chorus. I never watched Thomas or anything so it doesnt have any nostalgia attached to it in that sense but I did listen to a ****load of DMX when I was a kid and it makes me just want to blast the o.g. version.
#91: SkyMarshall Arts - Back in Time Recommended by: Emporer_Kazbar Favorite Part: HEY LISTEN
I dont know, I thought this was some satire about nostalgia and how people were constantly saying whatever they grew up with was better because of nostalgia goggles. It sounded bland going in but I do like the Navi clip and just being vidya related. Also this bugs me but is ramble on about that everything was better grammatically correct? It doesnt sound like it. I thought the Link line was really corny. If the first thing the song draws attention to is the rhyming, I dont think thats necessarily a good thing. It makes it sound forced imo. The fact that it rhymes should be an afterthought. But here it just really caught my attention. It might just be me though. Also I just kept liking this one less and less on subsequent listens although it was perfectly fine the first time through. Sorry!
#90: Project Pop - Ingatlah Hari Ini Recommended by: Natwaf_akidna Favorite Part: N/A
What is up with the monkey noises?! Oh I see, it says gorilla somewhere in there. Sounds chill but also a little corny.
It sounds like one of those feel-good songs about how life is so wonderful and blah blah and of course I could be wrong but I know some feel-good songs too and this one just doesnt quite stack up to them or even a lot of the songs on this list. This might be the reasoning for the ranking behind these around this rank but theres not a lot that stands out to me about this one. Sorry.
The only time Ive run into these guys(?) was in high school when this guy in a wheelchair said they were his favorite band. He had a poster of that cover on his wheels. I just never bothered to listen to them for whatever reason until now. And its not too bad. It does make me think of mushrooms randomly growing all over me because of that psy vibe. But its not something I envision myself listening to a lot in the future. I think were getting to the part of the list where I think the songs are fine and I dont hate them but I wouldnt listen to them unless I was given a link or made to listen to it. And its mainly because I think theyre okay songs but just not my style.
That being said, I do have a little problem this song and its the vocals. I usually prefer lyrics over instrumentals and thats part of the reason why I dont listen to a lot of VG stuff but the vocals are actually my least favorite part of this song. Like its enough that I think it actually detracts from the song. The distorted voice strangely sounds like it doesnt fit in with the rest of the song makeup and Im not really a fan of how the guy sounds in the first place. So my favorite parts of the song happen to be everywhere there are no vocals. The part from 1:27 to 1:42 is easily the best part of the song for me. Its exactly what I want when I listen to it, but theres just not a whole lot of it.
I was surprised how less impressed I was the second time I heard this. On the first listen, I thought it was fine and placed it in the upper tiers but the second time around, I wasnt even sure I was listening to the same thing because I liked it substantially less. Its repetitive and I can notice even when its in the background and sounds overly hyper. Hyper is good and fun but I prefer my hyper to be cute sounding and this song can just sound silly and not in the good way. I dont really like the vocalist much either. I just feel that theres a lot better alternatives for what its trying to do but its still up here because I felt FABULOUS the first time I listened to it and at times the fabulousness is still there, just less so.

Its all right but it feels off for some reason. The song doesnt flow as well as I would like it to and the transition from the verse to chorus felt awkward to me. Not to mention, I dont think the chorus sounds all that great. >_>
At 0:32 I like the little fake-out where it sounds like the chorus is starting but she goes immediately into the second verse. Overall however, Im just not really getting excited over this one. I do like her voice and would definitely be up to checking out more stuff from her though.
This actually sounded pretty generic. >_> Couldnt really get excited for some reason which I fully expected this type of song to do, especially with that scream at the beginning. As soon as I heard that I was full on erect and ready to smash some ****ers in the face but a moment in the song where I could unleash all this charged up energy never came. It just felt like I had already gone through this a bunch of times before on the first listen. I know its a cover but I really dont think that had anything to do with it or maybe Im just stupid. And I had no idea what this guy was talking about.
GoldnJusticeRoy posted... And I had no idea what this guy was talking about.
I've got my time machine, and my electronic dream? They're lyrics, they're like poetry, heh making sense is overrated. Man I listen to that song a lot, one of my favs.

Yeah, Stratford-on-Guy is more about the plane trip than the music itself I guess. Her first album is pretty classic, you should try that one out.

This sounds nice but unfortunately the problem lies with its source material because being completely serious, Friday is not a good song. Its fun to listen to and sing along because how bad it is but its certainly not something Ill listen to regularly and only on a whim. All that said, its still a nice cover. I like strings and its nice to hear it in non-classical pieces. But that can only take you so far. No words definitely help though. Unfortunately the lyrics still find themselves into my head whenever I listen to it. Chorus sounds better but fun fun fun fun kills it. Favorite part listed is the chorus before fun fun fun fun kicks in.
