Okay Eric's handle is: slasherFanatic. His quirk is putting // at the beginning of each line, and the very rare misspelled word and no end of sentence punctuation. His spelling color is yellow.

And to that I say that you judge too harshly. The first Golden Sun game was great although short, the second was truly amazing journey except for the targetting system in battle and on the field, the third was a little sad though, it had memorable characters and a refined targetting systems but was lacking on challenge, length, and story depth.

Dark Dawn is just sequel bait, chief. There will be a fourth. It was too short to be the last Golden Sun game. Seriously, I thought I was halfway done when I got to the end. There's still so much more that needs to be addressed.

I know it's sequel bait but calling it an entire game is a little insulting to the series since it was a good couple hours shorter than the original and the challenge was reduced to what I call "Toddler" mode.

Quickie note for everybody: LUK and AGI have been standardized. You now roll d100+Stat and attempt to score more than 100 on your roll to determine if you evade or crit, instead of rolling low for one stat and high for the other. Not really a change in effect, just to how it's done.

Welp, I'm not winning any luck rolls.

For example, I wanted Greg to be the Page of Void because I used to have a super-boner for Void and I just like Page as a title. I got lucky with getting Page, granted, but I wasn't expecting Life.

He even specifically requested Void. Must have been a real jerk who gave him Life instead.

Cata, keep in mind that while you may have this really cool idea of what you want your character's title/aspect to be you ultimately don't have much say in the matter. For example, I wanted Greg to be the Page of Void because I used to have a super-boner for Void and I just like Page as a title. I got lucky with getting Page, granted, but I wasn't expecting Life. Since then I've ran with it and I really like his character. Lucian wanted to be the Rogue of Blood if I remember right. Now he is the Mage of Dreams.

I'm sure all of us had ideas of what we wanted or thought our character would be. I certainly wasn't expecting Sylph or Rage, but both make sense, looking back on it. Would've killed to be Rogue of Dreams, though. Or even the Thief of Time I was campaigning for.

It's toxic, brutally overpowered, a mother****ing pain in the ass to deal with, it destroys the state of cooperation, synchronicity and trust between GM and player...

Easy solution for time inclusion:

Kan: With every other enemy placated, you approach the final boss. As you draw closer, you notice a figure you have never seen before. The figure waves and starts to introduce themselves, BUT SUDDENLY THE FINAL BOSS GOBBLES THE FIGURE UP. As the game starts crumbling around the confused heroes, the final boss speaks to the party:

"I am not your enemy! It was always time. Now the game will end and you all can go do something with your lives for a change"

The fourth wall among the first casualty, Kan will instantly dissolve the aim blast group and join 10 dnd campaigns

</end>

Truly it could end no other way!

haw haw haw

But seriously, I have my own ideas for Time. I have had to think long and hard about it, and in fact I've run with the idea of forcing myself to readjust every step of the way. Giving Zach the choice of selecting Time as an Aspect was a gamble, because I bet that Boner wouldn't do it. I guessed correctly, and I cannot thank him enough for it. Had he proven me wrong I'd have been forced to massively scramble to get a working plotline. As it is right now, my original plan for Time still stands, but I am still toying with the options I can give you to derail it.

PS: But seriously, I've treated that Aspect like live uranium. It really has the same potential to blow up on my face and ruin everything if I am not careful with it.

The scratch isn't what bothers me. It's that I have no legitimate answer other than 'no you can't, now stay down and let me have a campaign' to a time player playing even vaguely smartly. A smart time player doesn't need to scratch.

What's the answer to 'my future self from after winning the game goes back and hands me his final weapon'?

What's the answer to 'I kill an imp and travel back while gristtorrent distributes my grist, then do it again until we all have infinite money'?

What's the answer to 'the time player is doing more than everybody else and making it the time show because I have to keep leashing him 24/7'?

1. can't dictate the action of an offscreen future self. you have to play the all of actions that lead up to your character becoming them

2. imps have a single store of grist associated with their being that stands outside the flow of time that doesn't regenerate

I won't break the game in any of these ways I may have my future self tell me where the strongest weapon I can find is but he won't just hand it to me. Also making money that way is no fun, I like doing it the old fashioned way of beating imps up to gain grist and and whatever else. I also don't like doing a whole lot so you don't have to worry about keeping to tight a leash on me.

1) Then you can't time travel at all. Which I'm fine with but it's not what the time player wants.

2) This is actually feasible, but it also runs counter to pre-established rules. Can't use it, but it's a good idea. :-/
