pretty much the exact opposite of what he did in his first term.

Repealing the health care bill is the wrong move, the health care bill does a bunch of little things which are good, though it doesn't go nearly far enough. The only wrong thing about it is the annual fee if you don't have insurance thing.

So anyways, for me health care reform is the main issue and why I voted for Obama, and he hasn't delivered. If they do indeed get "affordable care" to the people and fix the broken moneygrubbing system well that would be something.

He would have to completely undo most of everything he has done. Slash government spending especially entitlement spending and radically revamp the education system of the entire country getting rid of the massive amounts of administration and pouring that money into teacher salary.

There is pretty much nothing Obama can do that will redeem him in my eyes for the NDAA except getting it repealed, and I know he's not going to do that.

The first three things Ulti said, actually oppose SOPA/PIPA/similar legislation (and not pass a "less bad" version of them), make massive defense cuts and raise taxes on the rich (some of these depend on Congress, of course, but he's been trying to be too diplomatic about them).

If not for the Japanese internment camps, FDR would easily be my favorite president. I've never studied them with much depth, but I really like Washington and Ike as well.

An all-time great President? Tricky. Uhh... broker a lasting peace in the Middle East? That'd be worthy of major props. I would also accept getting Congress to cooperate on increased taxes, reduced spending, and a general buckling-down in preparation for years of paying off our debts. Which is probably more likely, but still a 'fat chance' kind of thing.

This is not nearly as bad as it sounds. China needs us more than we need them. This would be an attempt to bring China to the bargaining table, and extract some major concessions out of them.

Who gets hurt the most if the US and China put massive tariffs on each other? In the US, that would be the top 1% most of all, and then the middle class who could no longer buy super cheap goods. The bottom half may not be harmed at all, as manufacturing jobs return to the US. And China is not the only source of cheap labor in the world, our companies can easily relocate their workforce to other third world countries. It may take some time, but that's all it would take, so the upper half in America would not be utterly crippled either.

China, on the other hand, needs us far more. Without trade with the US, they have no buyers for the goods. You could get horrific economic collapse pretty quickly.

Also, China cannot call their debts, because the US is not late on any payments. And is not in danger of being late on any payments. War is of course a horrible idea, but there's no reason to do that.

because obama wanted to be the guy who "transcended" politics. He wanted to be that universally loved jesus figure in politics. Stupid since we live in the most politically cutthroat era since the civil war.

Also because the highest level democrats in general are wimps. They are too afraid of the one wrong thing that might need corrected later to implement something. Republicans are stupid, but at least are confidently stupid.

^nixon, and reagan are among the worst presidents of all time because we were superpowers during their presidencies; we were significant to the world.

People who say presidents like grant and buchanan need to realize that the usa was hardly important to the world then. They were garbage presidents (same with harding), but you have to factor in the level of significance the country was back then.
