Embarrassing 4-0 demolition at the hands of AC Milan.

Time to wake up and smell your own obliviousness AW. 4th place has never seemed so important. We need to be able to sign players like Hazard/Goetze in the summer as well as holding on to Van Persie.

Anyway hopefully this topic has the same effect on Arsenal as it did on Utd.

you're not getting Hazard and Goetze with your current boardroom configuration. Hell given the state of your affairs you'd have to sell RVP for Goetze.

Yeah if you were RVP you would probably leave, you lanky piece of crap. That's because you've never stuck with a team to earn yourself a reputable identity. You're nothing but a mercenary. You will not be remembered by anyone in world football because you are a selfish piece of garbage that hasn't been the focal point of A SINGLE ONE of the winning sides you've been a part of. You are a joke, and RVP will always be superior to you and known that way when he sticks with Arsenal.

F*** Ibra.

Sorry Extha

Robin will probably leave, only reason other teams wouldn't want him is because of his injury record. I mean, if an offer comes in I think Robin will definitely consider it, unfortunately. and Ibra is the best of the current Milan side. I also think that he was pretty important at Inter, although I can't really remember.

I reckon Arsenal needs to clear out deadwood soon so that they can sign new players. Andrey, Denilson, Marouane, Sebastien and Nicklas should all go. They're taking up precious wage money that can pay better people.

Hard to argue with a man who has won the domestic title with practically every club he's in, but Ibra is known to be a trash talker. Even Pleasant Pep at Nou Camp couldn't take him.

I suppose you can take the fact that Chelsea have lumbered themselves with a needless replay at St. Andrews as a positive from today. They also have (meaningful) CL football to deal with, and a manager who has (I think?) openly admitted to losing the belief of the players, so, though Arsenal have had a bad week, I'd still favour them over Chelsea. Newcastle are a bit like Levante in La Liga - they're running on empty and unlikely to hang around that area of the table for too long. Liverpool are probably the the team I could see finishing strong, but you have four points on them, and they can't score. Having said that, their next league match is Arsenal (H).

How would Europe dominate?

What would your european team be?

In attack , south America has europe dominated. Pele/Maradona/Ronaldo frontline, with great mids like Garrincha.

However, in defense, Europe easily is better. Yashin, and then Baresi/Maldini/Beckenbauer. Not sure who would play right back though.

I assume he knew full well before he signed that this would be the situation. Being a GK can be a hard job since there's only ever one spot to compete for.

I'm honestly sort of pulling for Chelsea here. If they were to come out and smash Napoli I think it would go some way to shushing all the 'LOL XFD ENGLAND' morons who seem to forget how much we've controlled the CL for the past six years.

Also I can't believe R. Madrid choked again. Obviously they're still big favorites but jesus if they concede first in the Bernabeu things could get really nervy. They chucked away a massive advantage with 25 seconds to go. Pretty rough.

Definitely a power swing happening at the moment. The EPL are suffering the kind of collapse that Serie A was enduring a few seasons ago, who now in turn seem to finally be in the ascendancy again. The 2nd tier of leagues (France, Portugal, Russia) are having a strong year as well, a lot of strength in depth in Europe at the moment. Take Barca and Real out of this tournament and you've one hell of a headache picking a winner.

If I was to make a European back 4 I would just pick the famous Milan back 4 (Maldini/Baresi/Costacurta/Tasotti). I mean if you're putting chemistry between players down as part of this team comparison I don't think there's a better choice.

Yashin or Zoff, that back 4, Beckenbauer (as a DM), Mathaus and Xavi in midfield, Van Basten up front with support from Cruyff and Zidane. Nearly put Del Piero in there but eh. Feel like I'm missing somebody else important.

South America's harder just because the attacking options are harder to work out.

Yashin
Thuram - Beckenbauer - Moore - Maldini
Matthews - Di Stefano/Cruyff - Zidane - Gento
Puskas - Eusebio

Could also perhaps be a best European alltime. I know di Stefano played for Spain several times, but also that he's regarded more as Argentine so you could put him there or you could not.

Also @Smurf, not really agreeing there. Portugal is only two teams, Porto and Benfica, France is eh(Lyon is really not doing that great, Lille was also disappointing in the CL, Marseille is alright, PSG could be a force but that's the Man City way) and Russia..eh again. CSKA and Zenit are good sides, and Anzhi could be one, but I'm not convinced they're really on a rise up. Italy, that I can see, if you look at Napoli, Lazio(a Napoli lite I feel), Juventus back on the rise, Milan fighting for a title even though half of their team's over 30, Udinese,...

Djourou is a symbol in this article to represent the many names who are lucky to be playing for one of England's greatest clubs - Carl Jenkinson, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Andre Santos, Theo Walcott, Andrei Arshavin, Marouane Chamakh.

While in a nutshell those guys are the primary cause for Arsenals downfall, I'm sure Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea would share similar feelings about their current side not stacking up to their recent glory teams. I wonder how many players on todays team would make the 99 United side, Liverpool 2008 or Chelsea 2005?

Should Roberto Mancini be the bigger man / a spineless coward (depends on how you look at it) take back Carlos Tevez now that he has apologised?
- Yes
- No

Other than that, crisis club Inter Milan travels to France to take on Marseille while Bayern Munich travels to Switzerland to take on Basel.

Of course, there's Europa as well with City, United and Stoke all in action against the likes of Valencia, Porto and Ajax.
