From: Serebii During a Q&A session during a visit to Tokyo on Saturday, Junichi Masuda was asked about when the next main series game, a game after Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition, is to come out. In response, he said that he can't really respond to that question but said to watch an upcoming Pokémon Smash episode, due to air this weekend. This was followed by a post on twitter stating the same thing. Despite this, however, the summary and trailer of that episode of Pokémon Smash makes no mention of any sort of announcement. We'll bring news on these developments as and when they happen so be sure to keep checking back.
Key words: Main series game. Come onnnn 3DS R/S remakes!
From: WazzupGenius00 | #002 remember the last two or three times this happened and the announcements were for Pokepark
Well the question was related to the main series games, plus if a new game's not out by September (in Japan), that'll be the longest there's ever been without a new main series game.

From: mnkboy907 | #007 FR/LG came out before Emerald, so RSE remakes coming out before Gray wouldn't be unprecedented.
...well, I'll be damned, they did. I had stopped paying attention to Pokemon at that point in my life, so I wasn't actively following, and just assumed.
Ignore me, then.*
*It's still going to be Gray though.

From: Pokalicious | #009 The only reason that it could be Gray and not the R/S remakes is that Gray most likely has to be for the DS, while the remakes have to be for 3DS.
Keep in mind that on Nintendo's 3DS schedule earlier this year there was an unannounced 3DS Pokemon game.
-- ~Acting on Impulse~ Black Turtle still didn't MAJORA'S MASK
From: LordoftheMorons | #016 I thought they said Gray wasn't going to happen?
It'll happen. If they weren't planning Grey, they wouldn't have removed stuff like Gym Leader rematches or included moves for Kyurem that are currently unobtainable. Gotta have stuff to sell.
And yeah this is pretty standard and expected. Announce it in Feb/March for a September Japan release and a March (the next year) English/US release. Now, it SHOULD be localized immediately at this point but whatever.
You can tell by the rate the anime is going - it's going at a much faster rate than DP which indicates a filler saga (like Orange Islands or Battle Frontier) is imminent. So they are either going to use Grey or RSE remakes for a new series.
Freeze Shock, an Ice move which can paralyze, and Ice Burn, an Ice move which can burn. As in Electric and Fire related moves, ala Zekrom and Reshiram.
I actually think Kyurem is going to get two new formes, having to do with both Zekrom and Reshiram.

Oh right, Kyurem. Forgot about him. Of course the game would be based around it.
Also, I remember this quote from N that might have to do with the third game: "Many different values mix together, and the world becomes gray... That is unforgivable! I will separate Pokémon and people, and black and white will be clearly distinct!"
From: mnkboy907 | #023 Also, part of me can't wait for RSE remakes since it means Gen III Pokemon will get new Sugimori artwork. Aww yeah.
More like new Sugimori Art for the characters!

I dunno, I think there's a good chance they'll bring Ghetsis back or give him an expanded role in Grey. He never really learned his lesson. He wasn't humbled like Giovanni was, or proven wrong like Aqua/Magma were, or trapped for eternity inside a parallel universe for his attempts at playing god like Cyrus. He just kind of goes "Well that didn't work" and ends the game still a big heaping pile of crazy.
I know Giovanni's character arc was left unfinished back in the R/B/Y/G/S/C days, but it was closed in HG/SS (in the worst way possible but let's ignore that for now). Even Platinum took previously generic characters in Cyrus and the Admins and gave each of them some sort of resolution.
So yeah, they'll probably give him an actual ending and tie it into Kyurem somehow.
But hey, maybe it'll at least be on 3DS! <_<

The more I think about it, I think a new character will be introduced that parallels N. Each of them pursuing truth and ideals, like the Unova heroes, and each going for Zekrom and Reshiram.
And it's up to the main character to prove that both are worth pursuing, with the help of Kyurem.
I don't want R/S remakes very much, though they seem inevitable.

Will the opposite of N be named M, and believe that all Pokemon should belong to people and not roam free in the wild?

GMUN, a remakes might take the worst games in the series, and make them the second best!
As long as they don't screw it up! All they have to do is tweak the Hoenndex a little bit, add a more prominent role to Wally, and have more water Pokemon available while surfing, so we don't always encounter the same crap.

HG/SS didn't fix any of G/S/C problems (lack of Pokemon variety until Kanto, awful Rockets, TERRIBLE level balancing, no easy trainer rematches), so I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Still, I actually like R/S/E.

From: HeroDelTiempo17 | Posted: 2/21/2012 1:19:32 PM | #045 Everyone whining about how R/S/E are so awful would buy them anyways. I don't see why Nintendo wouldn't make them.
Actually, no
For once I actually don't think I'll be buying a newly released Pokemon game

The biggest problem with GSC was the briefness of Kanto. Which HGSS fixed.
I felt GSC's unfulfilled potential was filled in the end by the remake.
