From: Sir Cobain | #249 they're also probably getting willian from shakhtar who oddly enough was a backup to eden hazard on my FM game Ha I brought in Willian, then shipped him off after getting Hazard.
"Arsenal showed faith in Robin when he was going through a lean time, so we should not repay them by thinking about other clubs," she was quoted as saying in the Sun. "Our home life and our children are happy in London."
Never have I felt more confident in keeping a player. Robin seems like the type of guy to do what his wife says. :D

From: Kotetsu534 | #253 Baines in for Barry in the England squad. I would say that looked like a defensive move... but who would actually bring in Henderson, anyway? >.> Hodgson now that Lampard is out
Hasn't Leighton Baines always been pushing for A. Cole's LB spot since some time ago? What does he have to do with Barry?
As for Lamps, Think maybe Carrick might get a look-see. Even if it's Henderson, he's kinda better in the center than on the flanks where KD always throw him to.
Oh and Torres apparently scored in a friendly against S. Korea.

Ehh didn't bother reading the news and ended up thinking Roy haven't already secured a replacement. >_>
But henderson still isn't as bad as people think. He was great in Sunderland.
One more thing: Lol Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers.

Restarting my FIFA 12. Gonna strengthen my Portsmouth defence with Eboue and Djourou.

Ytf do they need Hulk when they've got Sturridge, Torres and Lukaku?
And whassup with managers of over-achieving teams like Rodgers and Lambert buying into their own hype after like one good season? They had like, one good season, then they think that they're bigger and better than their original clubs, jumps ship to a supposedly bigger club like Pool and Villa, only to be exposed for being out of their depth, quickly getting fired and have their legacy ruined. The same thing happened last two season. Europa finalists Hodgson and Carling Cup winners McLeish both thought they're too good for Fulham and Birmingham. Left for Pool and Villa and proceeded to drag them down the table and sacked within 1 season.

I'm actually pretty pleased on how we've been playing. The lack of a striker is obvious though, but I have not made up my mind about this formation. If we had a couple of more chances (perhaps the second half can make up for this) I would back it. As things are now, however, lots of possession but so few chances we should revert to how we usually play.
Anyway, more of the same, and hopefully a goal, please. I'm expecting Lukaku, probably changing the system around the 65th minute.

That's certainly an option, but I'd prefer Vertonghen instead of Pocognoli. I think Odoi played well against Montenegro, given the circumstances, but Gillet is playing well now (what a shot!). There needs to be some more experimenting, and the last minutes show that even an out-form Lukaku creates a lot more chances as a deep striker.
Edit: Gillet of course as rightback.

Yeah Gillet is playing quite well, but I really feel we need true fullbacks as our fullbacks, instead of constantly deputising centrebacks and midfielders in that spot.
And I feel Lukaku should be our no 9. I like De Camargo but he's better as a second striker, and Mirallas can't carry the weight of a striker. I really like Vossen as well, but Vossen needs a second striker as well so...
Oh well, certainly a good enough performance to go cautiously optimistic to the WC qualifiers, aside from that usual defensive error we have each match like clockwork. Also a lack of chances before we played with a true striker but all credit to England for that since they defended well and were also the most threatening side of the match.

Yeah have to say England looked very strong defensively, but I also have to say that even though it wasn't Simons' fault, I don't think England would have scored that goal with Kompany.
Nice try Wilmots, but he should start a real striker next around. Also thought Mertens had a pretty crappy game, I like Chadli better anyway because of the balance he brings.
I can't remember who lost the ball, was it Simon's, I thought it was a midfielder but I can be mistaken. Wasn't as bad as in other matches, but keeping the ball with 2 players next to you for that period on this level is just asking for it and England exploited it beautifully.
And yeah, Mertens wasn't great and we didn't really see Hazard. I think Wilmots will return to the 4-3-3 (2 wingers, 1 striker) we've been playing for some time now. I would love to see some more experimenting, something like what you suggested should definitely be played one day. But we have to win that first game to get going, and it's probably best to start in a familiar formation.
Then again, perhaps a deus ex machina of a manager comes on the stage, changing everything. (I can only dream, Pep.)

But I'm content with Wilmots. Perhaps even a bit pleased. I think he'll get the job unless Gerets gets fired or someone ridiculously good comes along.
I don't know what to think what this match shows for England's chances on some silverware. On the one hand good defending and outbreaks, on the other hand they didn't really impress, especially possession-wise and the fact that they were playing against Belgium who, for the moment, are a level below what's to be expected at the EC.

Word has it that Rodgers is trying to direct the deal he was pulling for Swansea into Liverpool. I think Sigurdsson could very well turn out to be another Adam but that's just me. But even if he does turn out to be another Adam, he'd still be adequate enough to replace has-been pair Aquilani and Cole. Well, maybe not Aquilani, but certainly Cole.
rofl I can't remember a more calamitous start to a competition injury-wise since before the 2002 World Cup. That makes 6 Liverpool players in the England squad now though! 'the best'
Yeah man. Andre Santos don't know either. He might or might not go to Man City because Mancini has an eye on him.
I'm starting to dislike Newcastle target Douglas now. "Bigger clubs than Newcastle are after me", he said. Who is it then? How dare he use our name to drive up his price?
Nobody probably cares, but apparently either New Caledonia or Tahiti will be in the next Confederations Cup. Least it isn't New Zealand as usual, after they lost 2-0 to NC. Whoever makes it will get slaughtered, but good on them.
I don't think anyone will get tired of laughing at Arsenal. Speaking of them, apparently we're closing in on a deal for Giroud. I hope he doesn't play at all for France and get us priced out of it =(

Makes you wonder why Arsenal felt compelled to waste away Park Chu Yong's career like that. Fella got bought. Didn't get played. Didn't get sold. Not even released. What, The, ****.
Onto brighter news, Newcastle is bidding for Vurnon Anita. Kinda feel sorry for Ajax, having their squad raided season after season. Anita is allegedly a very versatile player, playing at left-back and defensive midfield.
Awful? You kid me, right? He was awesome for Monaco and Korea. It's Arsenal's game that doesn't fit him which brings to the question of "why buy him in the first place?", before leading to "why hold him if he doesn't fit?".
This is almost an exact replica of liverpool and milan jovanovic, cept pool cut their losses and stopped wasting everybodys time quickly.

This is almost an exact replica of liverpool and milan jovanovic, cept pool cut their losses and stopped wasting everybodys time quickly. Dude seriously, Jova left us. Standard Liege. He wanted top, he got top. He didn't get a lot of chances, I'll give him that but if you look at how he plays at Anderlecht now, it's kind of understandable. I love him but I don't think he fitted/fits the Prem League.
Same for Park, because really Monaco =/= Arsenal and Ligue 1 =/= Prem. Every time Park played, and he even got a start against Leeds of all teams he has looked poor. Not even like Chamakh, who at least was good in his first couple of games. I'd like him to succeed, he's an Arsenal player, but I don't see him doing it.
Dad's philosophical about leaving Spurs. On one hand, he had unfinished business. But on the other, he had £800k on his departure at 14/1.
David Moyes is such a "meh" pick.
He's good but for where we are and the side we have, I would have expected better. Moyes would have been a good appointment with where we were post-Ramos.
