He's not exactly ranged but he has a dash on his Q AND W so you almost have no worries of being surrounded if you play him well.

Maybe I built him completely wrong but Olaf is a great bruiser-type champ with a ranged attack on a reasonable cooldown.

Kayle doesn't have tanky stats (ignore the bars!), but she does have her ult.

Felt like I had solid games for the most part. Our last 5 games were all 2k+ ELO games with a couple of them having 2.1k ELO players which was pretty cool I guess. The only uncool part was dealing with the trollish attitudes. There was 1 guy in particular who made life difficult in my 2nd taric game, but we pulled out the win anyways.

And I have won my last 6 taric games brining my taric record up to 19 wins and 5 losses.
I still prefer to play Kayle or Alistar, but lately I keep getting games where it seems like Taric is just a better fit. I'm not exactly sure what criteria I am using to make this assessment but on some level I determine whether or not someone fits and Taric has been fitting a lot lately.

Sounds like you want Nidalee.

Only if you play her AP and even then she only has one ranged skill, I guess if you count her auto attacks in her normal form. But if you build her AP she really won't be that tanky. Not to mention that post-level 6 the way to go with farm is clearly her cougar form, which isn't ranged.


I guess she's the best choice for what he wants though.

Tanky DPS Nidalee all the way.
It's actually more popular then AP Nidalee these days because not only do you push better, but your more valuable in team fights. Like the total package is just a lot stronger as AD then AP with her one offensive skill that scales off AP.

Phage+Wriggles and you pretty much win top for free.

She flat out beats most tops. According to Wickd her only bad match up is Yorick.

Her heal is an attack speed steroid and the duration is almost the same as the cooldown. her Q isn't too useful in human form. But her W is map awareness, E is a super steriod that heals her, Cougar form she destroys with all 3 moves.

And while that's all true (AD nid is a beast), it's not what he asked for! He wanted a ranged champ and Nid is only semi-ranged with AP. Otherwise she's pretty much melee.

I tend to use both forms quite a bit and for most of laning phase she is pretty much a ranged tanky dps. Both forms are definitely useful. But she is the only Ranged Tanky person I can think of.

Oh I know a better answer. Teemo is pretty damn tanky if your building him right.

Yorick would be the closest answer for a melee autoattacker tho.

AP nidalee wins every poking war ever, and she can keep an entire team from doing dragon or baron until late game.
AP Nidalee wants deathcap, GA, rylai's, and lichbane. That build is horrendously expensive, but I'd say it's more powerful than bruiser Nidalee. The problem is that you need deathcap, GA, and rylai's before you can start to do anything. Which means you will never be getting that much money, ever.

AD Nidalee wants triforce + full tank. It's cheaper, and you can actually be effective before 50 minutes. Definitely her best build.

But her W is map awareness
It's useful for it's map awareness. It's more useful for it's armor and MR shred. At max level, it's like having a free void staff and last whisper. I like to bait people into fighting me, and have them chase me over a trap, at which point I turn around and devour them.

I guess his damage comes from his abilities more than his auto attacks for awhile but you can still do some good damage with his auto attacks

So I just tried Jax for the first time. Good champ.

Had horrible team mates though. They fed bot eve. I told them a hundred times to buy oracles and she would be useless. They didn't. I did after laning phase and we came back a bit but they kept focusing Shen and Olaf after I told them not to a hundred times.


TIL that teammates who DON'T communicate are worse than any horrible douche teammate.

Teemo Kayle Yorick.

Teemo can build tanky and still derp carrys because mallet makes escaping poison impossible. Even if you flash he presses W.

Yorick is like a ranged champion because once you get your Tear and 3 ghosts he can God Mode anyone except Olaf and Udyr.

Kayle builds like a carry but she has her ult so she's not fun to focus and bad to ignore.

guys, I've decided that I need to learn how to jungle. Like, really learn.

Now, I can kill the monsters in the jungle, that's not the problem. The problem I have is decision making. The decisions the jungler makes impact the game more than any other, and I just can't do it.

For instance, say all lanes are evenly pushed, and you're closest to top, so you go top to gank. Nothing big happens, but while you were doing that, bot lane gets pushed under turret and they want a gank immediately. So you make your way bot, ignoring your whole jungle. When you get bot, the tower has cleared the wave, and bot is pushed out again. You try to gank anyway, nothing big happens. Now, you're way behind because you missed 5 camps, and got nothing in return. You will never catch up for the rest of the game, and you can't gank anymore.

How do you predict how the lanes are going to push? How do you avoid falling behind the support? I need to know these kinds of things. Old jungle was easy for me because it was clear->gank. I still don't know how to succeed in the new one.

Well I suck at jungling, but basically it comes with experience. My only tip is that you can't always gank when a lane asks for one, because every lane will always want a gank.

Of course. You have a massive AoE stun. You can level your Q to help with last hitting if you ever need to CS 2 minions in quick succession and veigars attack animation early game isn't up to the task. And then you can still use your ult late game to gimp AP carries even if you haven't built up my AP yourself. (Although there is nothing to stop you from having 100+ AP from Q and kills if you want)

Man. I'm starting to get a little depressed. In about the last 6 or so matches I've played in solo queue, not one person outside of me has actually won their lane. I might have to stop playing AD carries - they seem to have such a limited effect on the match early on, and early on basically decides solo queue. Mid and top seem way more influential.

Top is usually the least influential unless you counter pick their top in a way that gives you a massive advantage.

The problem with this is that only a 4-5 pick can counterpick top because you have to SEE their top first.

And "lol" @ giving a solo lane to a 4 or 5 pick in low ELO soloQ.

Its a pretty messed up system sometimes.



Having a high ELO alt I can link people to is nice because when I'm 4 pick on my alt I can say "btw I'm 1850 *link* so let me counterpick top please". But even that is problematic because if I don't have a completely AMAZING game they will B**** at every little thing. Or tell me that TheFD isn't my main even though im playing on NewFD. Or insist that I paid someone to carry me to 1850. (Red did it for FREE so they were way off ^_~ )



But basically the main thing I usually say about soloQ holds true: "Identify your opponents bad players before your opponents identify yours". Pick someone who can take advantage of a bad player single handedly. If you are ADing then that might be graves? Graves doesn't need a pro support to see his opponents and say to himself "this janna is pretty terrible, maybe I can bait her into wasting her shield, time it out and then trade for massive damage". Or if you're going to switch to jungle or mid then still pick champions who can gimp a lesser player early and often before the transition into teamfighting phase.

Well I was playing a lot of Kog'maw and it wasn't going so well for various reasons. After a match where the Riven top went 1-6 early on while I was just going even in my lane, I decided to switch to Ezreal because his early game is a lot stronger. All was going well, lane was being won, then I checked and saw that the enemy Irelia had a 120 CS lead on our top.

I suppose what I'm saying is that you usually don't see that sort of crap when the randoms get bot lane. At least I usually don't. Mid and Top (and Jungle) seem far more prone to doing really badly early on and anti-snowballing out of control.

If you want to win a game with ADs you need to use the ADs that when they get fed tell fed tops to go die in a fire.

This would be Tristana and Vayne right now, I think.

Vayne is all like "oh you are super fed that's nice I am too and I do % damage and I stick you into walls and I have lots of movement speed hahaha :D :D :D"

They probably got counterpicked then. Which sucks but happens. But if you are a low pick you can always say "I want to AD with XXX or YYY. Pick me one of them and then you can counterpick their top/mid/etc" and work out a swap.

I first pick poppy on my alt.

But only after banning Udyr and Olaf and Teemo.

And then I laugh because there are very few tops that I am afraid will kill my poppy aside from those 3 so as long as I do my job and CS (dont even need to worry about kills unless they give me a golden opportunity) then I will be a force to be reckoned with mid game and a full blown powerhouse if the game makes it to late.

Just played Support Nunu with Soul Shroud

infinite blood boil and you have full mana for everything else

-> You don't need to run tier 2 boots for a while because well PERMANENT BLOOD BOIL
-> Your carry won't run out of mana either because of the Soul Shroud
-> Take a heart of gold for the gold early
-> You won't miss Shurelya's too much because Blood Boil and Ice blast
-> The health regen on Shurelya's won't be missed too much either because well consume in lane and outside of lane if you do get hit it's either because you're in the wrong place or because your team is stupid
