That's gonna be an awesome birthday gift for me, but it's still too soon! >_<
I knew there were only going to be two seasons of Korra but I thought it was going to be two 26-episode seasons, not two 12-episode seasons (11 if you count the two-parter as one episode)! That blows! >_<
From: ScepterOfLove | #203 There's still an episode next week, just not the finale. It's called Turning the Tides They did a horrible job of pointing that out after Korra ended today.
Metalbending clothes on is awesome Aang/Toph grown up voices are great Bloodbending... EXCEPT on a full moon? There has to be a trick here... Grown up Sokka is awesome too ...so energybending doesn't actually have all the bright lights... I'm confused now AMON IS A BOSS Oh god dat snowbending
Wait, season finale already? I thought this was gonna have like 16 episodes... or at least 13. There's gonna be more after this season, though, right?

I think it's just that if he ever bloodbended on a full moon, that would immediately make him suspicious. The only reason he got caught was because he apparently did it so much with so many witnesses that it was enough to convict him anyway.

Speaking of Asami, I'm glad she's been demonstrating an emotional range lately even if it's mostly just jealousy and sadness. It's still way, WAY too subtle, but something tells me all her little looks of disappointment are building up into a huge breakdown next episode when Mako eventually chooses Korra over her. The tides will turn, oh yes.

Oh man he ended up having an equalist glove I guess Genny was ri - Oh wait no, she was still completely wrong. Man that's so embarrassing acting that smug about this victory when it's actually a complete defeat.
If you really want to get into the details of it, he never did the set up until after Korra was gone in the truck. He didn't have the glove when he put her in the truck, so he must have gotten it after.
SOMEHOW you misinterpreted his dark skin as an equalist glove... and coincidentally he brought one out in the next episode.
But lets go back to the scene you saw the glove.
EXHIBIT A.
Soooo point to where on the picture you see an Equalist glove. I'll wait!
Since you are so good at differentiating skin tone from black gloves with big green power sources I'm sure it won't take long.

I generally wouldn't see a problem with Mako "caring too much" about Korra, but the thing that I find weird is that he (and everyone else) doesn't seem to care that she is damn Avatar. Like, sure, we get that you value her friendship and losing it would suck, but that is not the worst consequence of losing her. I guess the times have changed and no one really give a **** about the Avatar anymore, but that has been annoying me consistently throughout the show.

I just feel like there are only two ways that Masami can end.
1. Asami calls Mako out on his s*** and he meditates on it and realize that he is, indeed, being unfair to Asami. He admits this and the breakup is graceful. Odds of Asami reappearing are relatively good.
2. Asami goes full Green Eyed Monster and gives Mako the good old "her or me" speech, ending with Mako deducing that Asami is shallow and has absolutely nothing on Korra, breaking up on bad terms. Odds of reappearance are slim.
And it's disappointing that I think the second is more likely to happen than the first, because I don't trust the writers enough to make a good guy look like a bad guy.

That sounds lame even though I'm not at all a fan of Asami. I seriously hope it doesn't go that way at all.
You don't foresee her getting all angry at Korra and Mako and rejoining her father with the equalists after she feels very betrayed? Especially if she walks in on Mako and Korra kissing again or something.

I just hope that Asami doesn't heel turn over this, that would be so damn annoying.
Sadly, I can see that happening if Mako does choose Korra over her. But the writers have really impressed me so far, managing to avoid the clichés that plague lesser animations. The only thing they've really dropped the ball on is 3/5s of the counsel, by not giving them anything to work with.
I'm pretty sure they'll handle it better. (One can hope)

I can see it happening, but foresee? Never.
I respect the series too much to believe that they'd ever make Asami join the Equalists because of one bender.
That was her father's mistake, remember.

Like I said, whatever happens will probably lead toward a huge emotional breakdown on Asami's part yes, but from what we've seen of her so far, she is mature (and robotic) enough to separate her feelings toward Korra and Mako and possibly Makorra from her sentiments toward every bender ever.
She definitely wants to distance herself from her father- notice her looks of remorse, guilt, betrayal, and sadness whenever anything reminds her of him. Her turning heel would undo all of that, so I don't think the writers would go about it so obviously.
The writers for this show are top notch, but Asami just leaves so much to be desired. I still say the only way she wins me over is by actually being a robot.

The last kiss was all Korra. I would be surprised if they kissed again. Then again, they have been hyping up the romance thing little by little. It will probably be pretty important in the finale.

Hey, no... >=(
She initiated it, but like she pointed out to Mako he did kiss her back! So it was like... 85% Korra which is totally not "all Korra". And yeah I can't see all of this buildup culminating in an easy break as opposed to a s***storm.
For those disappointed in the season being 12 instead of 13 episodes, I'm pretty sure that the next season is 14. They have a 26 episode contract, and I've read from various sources since the show began that they intended to do it this way.

"It's a magical world, Hobbes ol' buddy...let's go exploring!" - Calvin http://img.imgcake.com/calvinfinalpngpy.png
- Lin rocks so much. By far the most effective fighter on Team Avatar's side. If I was Amon, I'd have her down as my #1 target for equalisation.
- But credit to Korra too for her quick thinking in the box. Not just to dodge it but to segue her evasion into a surprise attack was smart. She even encountered Amon and didn't get captured, for once!
- The snow scenes were simply beautiful. Then again, I'm a huge fan of snow generally.
- So Tarrlok wasn't being built up as a "season one villain" after all, but as (another) device for Amon to show his power. I'm sure the finale with Amon will be incredible, but I think having Tarrlok around desperately vying for control could have made things even better!
- Bloodbending is super OP. Yakone is more or less the undisputed most powerful bender ever (minus AS Avatars, of course). He took down a courtroom's worth of people with just his will (and eyes).
- Except when it's not. AS Aang is immune to it, as is Amon. Amon is also capable, like Aang, of taking away bending powers. Hmm.
- Was Aang really only trying to warn Korra about Tarrlok's bloodbending? It seemed to me like there was just as much focus on his decision to take away Yakone's bending. Hmm.
- But I think I've spotted a (minor) plothole. Yakone was a huge deal, and would've surely been one of the biggest news stories across the world when he did what he did in the Republic City courtroom. So why didn't Korra know about bloodbending on days other than a full moon? Surely Katara would have told her? Even if she didn't, the knowledge that it had happened would've been freely available. Oh well.
- I don't think Asami's upset with Mako/Korra has been subtle at all. In fact, it's been obvious for several episodes, and was very obvious during this. Every time Mako expressed (extreme, emotional - see his determination and his willingness to interrogate the soldier) concern about Korra she was given a close up looking suspicious or upset.
- Mako and Korra are clearly desperate for each other. Korra's smile while in Mako's arms said it all. I don't have a problem with this - it's perfectly understandable they'd feel that way, but...
- I do have a problem with Mako not making up his mind and treating Asami like this ever since Ep. 5. Korra messed about with Bolin for one day, and quickly realised that was a juvenile and hurtful way to behave. But Mako appears not to realise that. This is going to blow up and it isn't going to be pretty, I fear.
- Nice music when Aang attacked Yakone. Seemed like something halfway between the flowing Legend of Aang style and the staccato tunes in this series.
- Looked to me like Yakone and Tarrlok both revealed their bloodbending powers to the world in exactly the same place (look at it closely, I think it's the same building).
- "I am the solution." Love it.
- That preview for the finale was wild. Everyone will have noticed that Amon was about to put the equalisation on Korra, and will have theorised about whether she'll escape or need to recover her bending in S2... but I'm more interested in Mako's presence there. He was clearly conscious and shouting... so why wasn't he blasting fire at Amon? My first thought was that he'd been equalised, but looking at it closely, it appears his fingers are bent in weird directions (on both hands - there's actually a very quick shot of his right arm close up before the camera cuts back to Amon and Korra), exactly as they go when under the influence of a bloodbender. But then, who could be doing the bloodbending? Hmm.

Maybe it was Amon, Kotetsu. Maybe instead of actually removing others' abilities to bend, he's absorbing it. Then he could be the only bender. Spooky...
I think Korra is gonna go avatar state on Amon before he can take her bending. Hence the close up on her eye. When she opens it it's gonna be glow city.

Oh yeah, about the characters more generally. I don't think this Team Avatar is as likeable or enjoyable as the original, although I'm enjoying the show in general more. In particular, I don't think there's anyone here who's as interesting as either Zuko or Katara were when it comes to interacting with the rest of the gang, and that's as someone who doesn't mind the romance threads. Sokka was better comedy than Bolin too, if you ask me. I think that might be partly down to the fact that this crew is several years older, and therefore there's not as much ready-made conflict (outside the romance) as there was before, but largely because this series is much shorter and much faster paced than the original. Ep. 9 of Legend of Aang season one was The Waterbending Scroll, by which point the plot had advanced as far as finding out Sozin's Comet was coming! With a much greater pace of events comes a decrease in the presence of the non-protagonist characters.
