Looking through my champs, I discovered two great uses for the Grail:

CDR Boots + Morellos + Grail + usual AP stuff Ahri never stops firing off skills and is just a terror to face, but it's pretty expensive.

Grail + anything on Soraka. Never stop Starcalling.

I play support soraka with flat AD marks

she deals a stupid amount of damage at level 1. You put your opponents back and they never, ever catch up because you're soraka.

I think she's broken. I do far too well with her. I don't think I've lost bot lane yet. My favorite AD to support is caitlyn. You run in to attack, they attack you, and it lines them up perfectly for peacemaker. Every. Time.

And I just went 7/0/0 as a Darius in a 1v2 lane. Enemy team surrendered at 20. I love having the full rune page(at level 22) for Darius.

EDIT: To spend five dollars to pick up Rumble...Kit looks like so much fun. What the hell. May as well. Solo top is my fav role to play.

Hecarim showed up and basically 1v3d them then their Darius cleaned up, they took Baron, and achieved "glorious" victory because my team threw the game away when I told them not to.

It is not in me to play solo queue anymore.

It's not even about Darius, it's about how other people deal with him.

He will be everywhere forever. And that would be fine if I could get one team, ONE TEAM, that could deal with him.

Darius is too much of a pub stomper. He sends the solo queue equation through the f***ing roof. You can carry bad teams, but Darius just says "Ha, no, f*** that." Darius takes cooperation, know-how, and skill management to shut down, and he gets shut down hard if you have those things. But this is solo queue, people. Half of the people playing this game at level 30 don't even buy wards because "they're useless." How in the hell can you expect them to learn anything when you've been holding their hands with nerfs for the better part of a year? (Riot's pretty much stated that Darius is fine, by the way.)

I understand you can only ever win or lose, and that it was always a gamble with solo queue. I don't need those concepts explained to me. But when the game becomes "which Darius is going to get fed first" at lower levels of play, you have to imagine that there's maybe SOMETHING wrong there.

So I just played a ranked game on my alt to prevent decay and had a hilarious game as teemo top against jarvan.

Lane was slightly in my favor for awhile and enemy jungle alistar was doing some work in mid/top so their team had a slight advantage overall. But it was clear that jarvan was calling for a gank because Ali decided to camp top for a solid 5 minutes. But the best part was that he got absolutely nothing to show for it.

He came top past my ward so I speed way.
He drops a pink, kills the ward, pretends like he's walking mid but comes top again (obvious gank was obvious) and just misses me again.

Then he comes from tribrush (I was purple side) he misses my mushroom so he isn't slowed (but i had vision) so I run through river, past their blue, into the tiny brush between t1 and t2 turret and use summoner TP back to my own turret. They had a serious WTF moment when they saw me disappear next to their t2 and reappear in lane 7 seconds later.

Then he comes from river again, hits a shroom and I back off.

Then he comes from tribrush again, misses the shroom (again augh, better place diffrently next time or use two) and chases me through river past blue again. But this time jarvan does NOT follow (probably because he's tired of repeated failganks) so I turn on alistar and take him down to 10% then walk back to lane and start shoving Jarvan around again.

Alistar did not gank top again after that <__<

But more importantly all of that momentum he had built up became completely wasted and we were able to group for the next dragon and then stay on top of objectives until we GG'd them. But I was literally laughing out loud throughout the mass attempted ganks.

Decided to play a quick match so I don't get too rusty after playing Diablo III. Immediately start trying to move by left-clicking. Later, our mid disconnects.

We won and I went 14/4 as Ezreal because why not. I had a great Soraka who took Starcall early and absolutely bullied people in lane with it, it was hilarious.

One thing I did to help me early on was map Diablo's abilities to QWER. LoL ingrained it into me and it's way more comfortable than 1234. Helps with transitioning back and forth, too.

I agree on a lot of points, I think making phage/triforce proc every 4 hits or something like that is better than the random chances, and the fear thing is definitely something I agree with. I don't play Brand much so I don't know about that, but it sounds like its programming could use some tweaking

It would be kill if when you click to fear someone you could also hold the click and drag a direction (like when dropping a rumble ult, viktor laser, etc) and make them run the specific direction you are fearing them.


The reason they are running when you fiddle fear for example is because they are seeing terrifying visions and so imo it wouldn't be much of a stretch to imagine that he could make someone afraid and run in a specific direction.

The duration would have to be tweaked naturally, but you can't just have everyone run away.

Games without a certain element of luck tend to be worse than games that revolve around random chance, imo, because games without any random chance run the risk of being "solved." Granted, there's a lot of luck that isn't really random but can still be considered luck. Ignite not giving the extra tick needed to kill someone. The last tick of ignite killing someone. Being 10 mana short of the last hit of your combo. Your execution ability leaving the enemy with 4 health and giving them time to get away because you blew everything you had on them. I consider all of these things luck, even though they aren't random at all. But I digress, since he doesn't talk about that.

Phage/Triforce is mostly irrelevant since statistically you should get a slow every four hits anyway. Changing fear to work like that just makes it a different version of Charm/Flee.

No opinion on Brand's ult.

I just think that even though random chance should be minimized, it should never be completely erased like so many wannabe game designers think it should be. Even some actual designers.

Then you don't play Nocturne. Whenever you gank someone as Nocturne and the fear makes them walk away from you, it's absolutely terrible and almost always ruins the gank.

Teemo is the single best top lane counter pick simply because once he gets a lead it's impossible for him to lose it; His poison only gets stronger, his speed only increases, the amount of shrooms placed only gets larger. You can't stack armor because poison and Wits, can't stack MR because he can build damage. The river is warded, the brushes are warded, your blue or red is warded.

You can't even lane gank Teemo by sneaking through the lane because that brush is warded too! If you get behind against Teemo it's best to just roam and try and make plays or ask your jungler to sit there for 30 seconds so you can experience.

Multiplayer games are about making better decisions than your opponents. If you make a better decision than your opponent, but they are rewarded more than you are because of a random element, that defeats the entire purpose of playing the game.

Chess is a game that is wholly solved, but that many people still play and enjoy. Go is a game that has so many possible decisions that it is not wholly solved, even though it is solvable.

The state of a game of LoL changes moment to moment, based on your decisions and the decisions of the other nine players. I would argue that a group of five humans trying to outsmart another group of five humans produces something far more interesting than a random game state, while still providing you decisions that are both ambiguous and meaningful.

Have you all seen the leaked moveset for this guy?

He's a 525 ranged AD, and his gimmick is his Q. He throws his axe for bonus damage, and they bounce off of the opponents' heads and fly through the air, and if you catch them before they land you can throw them again. And the Q is 300 range.

A ranged carry (maybe not even, maybe some crazy type of solo top) who is also literally doing trick shots and juggling his weapons.

ok how else would you guys reccomend getting before I hit level 30/jump into rank+what other rune pages would you reccomend buying?
I have magic pen/flat armor/scaling MR/MS and flat AD/flat armor/scaling MR/MS atm for runes. I have Ashe, Alistair, Cho'gath, Dr. Mundo, Darius, Malphite, Tristana, Rumble, and Ryze. I need to get a support rune page next I think but what is the best general support rune page and what is another good tanky support?

I run my support page (not full yet 27 but when it is full it will be like this):

9x Armor marks
9x Mana regen seals
9x MR glypsh
3x 1 gold/10 sec quints

masteries are 9 in defense, 21 in utility most of the time. For Sona, Soraka and Janna. But for a guy like Taric and maybe Nunu I might pick 21/9 instead


that said I could have a horrible rune page, I'm not a pro! (support is my best role though for sure)

On most of my supports I don't run out of mana after I get philo (and with the masteries on gold/10 and the quints, it doesn't take me very long to get to the 620 I need for philo, and usually I can get a ward or two when I go back as well). Because philo is so huge, I prefer the extra tankiness with the armor.
