OmarsComin 05/31/12 10:53:00 AM #1:	we live in dark times and the purge touches us all I've hit a wall in 3s online. I'm good enough now where some of the really good players want to play me, but my connection and distance is so bad that they eventually are always like "sorry too much lag but ggs." Maybe I'll move to California. I was playing some AE this morning because who cares how the connection is in that. Played a high ranked Chun player, and something that's been puzzling me in 3s suddenly made sense. A lot of low level Chun players you find online in 3s do some really dumb and confusing s*. Like "why did they think that was a good idea" kinds of things. Mashed out legs in random spots, constant crossovers with that crouching forward roundhouse move, stuff like that. Now I understand. They are SF4 players. Taking their SF4 game into SF3 and of course it doesn't work there. OmarsComin 05/31/12 11:25:00 AM #5:	huh that's interesting. usually people who like 3s make the argument that 3s is so cool because everything is risky. pretty much no move is safe in all circumstances. almost nothing is safe on parry, a good amount of the moves are not safe on whiff, some are not safe on block and (lol) some are not even safe on hit. a couple of Ryu's moves are like that actually, where hitting someone with that move means you can get reversal supered off it. alternatively in 4 it feels like everything is safe to me. maybe I just don't understand the game enough. Weakupedia 05/31/12 11:39:00 AM #12:	ken's and oni's dps recover really fast. with ken i think it's fine because he's always been like that, but i think oni's is kind of dumb. in any case, you just gotta block or bait DPs if you anticipate them. especially if they have two bars for FADC. i've been playing SC5 more than sf these days, and while it is fun, there's a lot less thinking and more "i feel like doing this this time just because". I think SC's problem is the mixups all do roughly the same damage, so essentially everyone is el fuerte and the entire game is just guessing, mainly. there are a few frame traps and whatnot, and it's definitely not as bad in this game thanks to EX attacks and Just Guard, but part of me finds it hard to take SC5 super seriously for extended periods of time. that could also be because there's just a lot more cheese in SC than in other fighting games. -- XS2 is the only good Xenosaga game - Lady Ashe http://backloggery.com/cwistofu <cite>Weakupedia posted [p:1200320] in Board 8 Fi...
