No, I think we have a different concept of physics in this case.

I see balls as things that are dropping and are kept from falling by a sack, therefore the "emptiness" of the upper part of the sack kind of gives me a sense of... well, emptiness.
I see boobies as things that are kept up (either by a bra, by a good plastic surgery or... by themselves, in lucky cases).

I see Castform's more as being boobies honestly.

I can't believe we are actually having this conversation, I'm going back to pokémon Christ.

Okay, I think Pikachu gets too much negative bias because of the anime. I am influenced by the anime myself for the most part, but in this case I'll try to not take it into account, because Pikachu's qualities are more evident when you don't think of the anime.

Just to be clear: anime Pikachu isn't bad, it has its good moments and its annoying moments. If I had to tell what I like the least about him, it's that Ash often neglects his other pokémon in order to give Pikachu more screentime.

Aanyway, Pikachu and Raichu were just about even to me, until I stopped and asked myself: "Wait, am I putting Pikachu in the same tier as this weirdly-colored and kind of fat electric rat because... am I biased? I mean, I like them both a lot, but this just seems off".
The answer was: "Yes, silly. Pikachu obviously looks better: brighter coloring that fits better, MUCH cooler tail, improved cuteness, better shape when it's fat, better shape when it's slim...".
Think about it, wouldn't most people think of Pikachu as a cool little guy in the same vein of Growlithe or Squirtle if the anime didn't exist? I'm thinking YES.

Oh, on that note, I liked "fat" Pikachu a tad bit better than slim Pikachu, but it's not very important.
It's just that "fat" Pikachu reminds me of this:



How could you not be amazed and full of joy when, walking in Viridian Forest, one of these showed up instead of Caterpies and Weedles? It's one of the best memories that I have about my first Blue playthrough, and it still makes me all happy when I replay those games nowadays and Pikachu shows up.

Thundershock also used to have the coolest sound out of any move.

Yeah, without thinking too much about the anime, Pikachu is just so clearly cute and badass IMO, more people should try.

I like new Pikachu more than old Pikachubs, but I've always found Raichu cuter than both. Maybe because it's fat. And that preference has nothing to do with anime Pikachu. Played the game before I watched the anime so...

I actually like anime Pikachu! I don't like that Ash favors him over 90% of his other pokémon but that's a reason to hate Ash- not his pocket monster.

And I will agree that Pikachu has a much cooler tail. But Raichu has much cuter ears. <3

#40 - EMPEROR NAPOLEON

It's just a great, great name.

SO, I love penguins. I like Delibird but its Santa look and its overall... not-penguin appearance kind of left me wishing that GF would do a new penguin pokémon, a BADASS one.

My prayers were answered when Empoleon was revealed. One of the very few Gen IV pokémon that I loved from the very beginning and for a long, long time my favorite one. It's also easily my favorite out of the final forms of Water starters... not like anyone not named Blastoise posed even a minimum threat for that title tbh.

In my rankings it keeps jumping on and off of my top 100, but I love it regardless. It's Steel type makes me imagine how HARD those enormous STEEL WINGS must hit. No wait, Pokédex says that they're sharp and cut through most stuff, which is EVEN MORE BADASS. Imagine lolmagmar appearing in front of an Empoleon, the Empoleon feeling its pride as a sentient creature being offended by such a boobie-headed inferior being and going all Scyther on it, just with STEEL WINGS. GO MAH BOY.

Empoleon is also so true to its name, an EMPEROR, a LORD. When you see it, it just inspires respect. Nothing against my usual pick for Gen IV starters a.k.a. Bowser with a tree on its butt, but when Emperor Napoleon is on the scene, you and anorexic monkey just kind of disappear.

A big, big step up from Piplup and especially Prinplup IMO.

#39 - TROPIUS

I feel that Tropius is a very, very underappreciated pokémon. It has this amazing, tropical design that I love with all my heart, resembling both a dinosaur and a banana plant. I used to have banana plants in the back garden of my house when I was a kid, they all had names. Sadly, I don't remember any of them unlike for some of the other plants.

All the plant details about Tropius look really good. The big leaves on its back that it uses to fly are beautiful, but flying isn't their only use: did you know that Tropius uses photosynthesis through these leaves to produce carbohydrates and give itself more energy? How do you like chemistry in pogeymanz?
The leaves helmet is also cool, and the BANANAS give it the last, irresistible exotic touch.

Now, I don't know why something as cool as Tropius doesn't have better stats. I mean, it doesn't have anything that is REALLY bad, but being well-rounded with good stats is already pretty hard in pokémon, being well-rounded with mediocre stats is... pretty useless. Although I'm told that Tropius got more attention in B/W thanks to Drought Ninetales, as all of its abilities activate with the sun and they're all pretty good (Harvest is the most interesting IMO). It also has Dragon Dance, and I bet that Tropius looks much cooler than Feralolator while Dragon Dancing, too!

A tropical badass such as Tropius obviously has a shiny form that makes it look as if it was kissed by the sun itself:


To be honest, I feel that Tropius could've used a bump upwards, but hey I'll stand by what I originally ranked so... 39 on this particular list is still really good. With a more balanced list it could've made it to the top 25, so...

I love Vulpix, by all means it is cute done right.

It looks cute but not TOO cute, it looks elegant and it packs a punch... what I'm trying to say is, having TEH FIRE sure is more impressive than what Teddiursa or Jigglypuff could bring to the table.

There are a lot of things that I would like to say about Vulpix, but I want to keep them for Ninetales, who suits the traits that I would talk about much better. That's why, since my arguments have been cut to half, we'll compare it to Growlithe for absolutely no reason.

It's pretty clear by now that I somewhat favor female-looking pokémon to some extent but I have to say that, in Vulpix's case, having to compete with Growlithe for my appreciation is really hard. Growlithe is a pup who's trustworthy, cute and packs at least as much punch as Vulpix does. If I had to choose a pokémon as my BFF, that would be Growlithe and I don't have the slightest shade of doubt about that. I have to admit that I might have been influenced as a kid by James' Growlithe in the anime, it was the best bro that a guy could have and I'm glad that James didn't take it with him to be blasted by Pikachu's Thunderbolt for 700 episodes.

While I can sure appreciate Vulpix's sinuous body and enchanting features and I have nothing but praise for it, it has nothing on Growlithe for me.

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot. Are people at GF really that dumb to believe that by putting WAILORD as capable of having children with the likes of Vulpix and Skitty, people wouldn't think of them having extremely gross sex? Children learn these things very early in age nowadays. That's why I can't excuse them for drawing anuses, multipeens and wangs on the heads of creatures.

#37 - AERODACTYL

Poor Aero, it has a terrible reputation for being a carnivorous, vicious, ferocious bastard. Deep down though, I think it has a soul and it is just misunderstood. I even find it cute at times, really, with the deep green puppy eyes and all that, you almost forget that it has an enormous jaw and two saws for teeth.

Well, what I love about Aerodactyl besides that is that I love aerodynamic pokémon. You can be aerodynamic and not a bird, Aero shows how it's done. There are hardly any pokémon that are not birds and can be imagined as great, even graceful fliers: take Tropius for example, it's amazing that it can use its leaves for flying purposes, but I can hardly imagine it doing complex flight maneuvers seeing as it has an enormous and bulky body.

Aerodactyl looks like a hi-speed, master of control flyer. You'd need to imagine an aerial obstacle course in which speed and style were the evaluated parameters to understand better maybe, Aerodactyl would rock such a thing with an excellent time record and perfect glide motions whereas, say, Dragonite or Golurk wouldn't.

Something that I always thought was weird about Aerodactyl is how it went from having one of the most restrictive movepools in RBY to having an excellent variety of options in B/W. Admittedly, it didn't exactly make sense for it to not have Rock moves or even Earthquake, since everyone and their mothers learned Earthquake.
I imagine that it would've been a much more popular pokémon back in the days even with just the addition of Rock Slide and Earthquake, being in the Alakazam/Jolteon/Dugtrio speed tier is no laughing matter.

Aero used to be higher on my list, it dropped a bit because, despite being very cool and having a perfect aerodynamic shape, I feel that its design could've used a bit more work.
