Have you seen Sansha Sanyou or Anne Happy? They were from last year and I have a good feeling you'd love both of em.

Ok guys, this anime sale on steam is too big, give me the rundown of whats actually a good deal.

If VNs are not your bag (unfortunate), let me see what opinions I can offer.

Sakura Dungeon. ... Play Demon Master Chris instead. Unless you are attached to the way Wanaca draws female characters.

Conception II. I put 200+ hours into this game (on 3DS). So did my wife (on Vita). Mostly a dungeon crawl punctuated by tongue-in-cheek VN segments. Lots of waifu elements. ... Do not play in public.

Fairy Fencer F. Fun on PS3, but then they revamped it for PS4 and made me frown. I should have waited.

Recettear. Hardcore capitalism that puts on a cute disguise to fool you.

Dragon Quest Heroes. If you can withstand the avalanche of puns, feels like a DQ version of Hyrule Warriors. I thoroughly enjoy it on PS4.

Kindred Spirits On the Roof. The one yuri VN to rule them all. God tier. Worth full price, IMO.

Panty Party. ... My laptop cannot run it. Woe. But I love the tagline: "There is no hentai in this game! All you get is funny and stupid panties."

If you can get into the Neptunia series, I'd also recommend them. Re;Birth 1, 2 and 3.

That it is, but, if I can't run Panty Party, I'm pretty sure I can't run that, either.

Hell, I can barely get the Crunchyroll video player to run on this laptop nowadays.

Finished up Akiba's Trip. Wasn't anything special, but I've seen worse. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is up next. Heard good things, hope I like it.

Also, I hit a milestone on mal with Akiba's Trip being my 1,000th completion.

I want to like VN's, I just don't. Its basically just reading and I hate reading. I intend to play lesbian ghosts eventually, just not willing to spend more than 10 dollars on a VN (and even that feels excessive).

I'll try to grab capitalism. I already have rebirth 2 and snagged 3 as soon as I looked at the sale (80% off IIRC) and played the original nep nep game when it came out. I never finished 2 though. I feel like if they took a bit more time to balance the stats as well as design actual dungeons instead of the super lazy shit they have now, I would enjoy them a lot more. I like the dumb cute stories and the characters and all that stuff, its just mostly gameplay aspects hindering me from really enjoying them.

As sad as it is for me, I might just not be able to enjoy turn based RPGs anymore. I really liked them a lot but I haven't been able to enjoy one in some time. Perhaps I'll try to replay golden sun lost age before too long as that was probably my favorite back in the day. It seems really hard to balance depth with speed. ideally you should be able to very quickly get through a battle you have outleveled, something like trails in the sky takes a very long time compared to say pokemon where i can just mash buttons and be back out of the fight in like 2 seconds but pokemon (when playing just the single player story portions) is very simple, you never really need to use any of the depth in the system. I can't think of many turn based rpgs that strike a good balance between interesting on level fights and non tedious overleveled fights. I think the last one I enjoyed was a touhou fan project called like pocket wars evo or something weird but I wasn't able to get into the second one even though it was basically more of the same. I'll have to look more into conception 2 but seeing you say its good is reassuring.

Report back with what you think of Recettear! I love that game!

I'm working on getting all the endings for Re;Birth 2 right now. I just have to get the nation specific endings and I'll be done!

About to start s2 of Rakugo. First season was good, though plodding at times, but it works for the show. Have an idea who the father of Konatsu's child is, but hope I'm wrong. I'm going to be a bit miffed if it does turn out to be Yotaro's old bosses kid, but hope I'm wrong.

I really resonated with the first season; trying to figure out what the fuck you want to do with your life, and what direction to take it. Everything felt so meaningful to me, so the pacing felt just right for me, but I can see why it's slow.

also Tidbit, there was a 60 minute OVA, and the first episode, the double episode, was basically that OVA, but trimmed down. Apparently, there's some small details/characters in the OVA that were gleaned over, but are relevant for S2. It feels like a character or two show up out of nowhere, but they address it quickly and move on.

Ep3 of s2 was a rollercoaster ride. So, it seems my hunch was technically right, but I was thinking of the wrong person. I hope that's the end of that at least, but there's still 9 eps left to go.

Finished up Rakugo, it was good. The reveal at the end that Shin's dad might not be the gang boss, but Kikuhiko's was, well, I'm not sure. I like it better than the gang boss being the dad for sure though. I do like Konatsu not revealing the truth though, since it might mess up an otherwise good relationship. I do wish they'd have briefly covered what happened to Kikuhiko's leg when he was a kid, but it's not that important. Was hoping for Kikuhiko to die at the end performing "Shinigami", but the way it did end was great, so I'm not gonna complain. Great show though, definitely recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it.

I also like falling behind so I can read a bunch at once haha. But my friend who got me to read stuff is always reminding me there are new chapters and giving me grief when I say I haven't read em yet haha. So I read them when they come out. Just 3 weeks till next berserk chapter !

Berserk began another monthly serialization btw. Newest chapter came out a week or so ago. Now we are gonna get at least 6 more hopefully before the next 6 month break haha... ha... :(

Well, I read the MHA manga as well, so I already know what's gonna happen.

But yeah, waiting for a week after cliffhangers is just the worst.

Speaking of, slightly related, we don't even get a new Samurai Jack this week! It's been taken over by Rick and Morty! (To be fair, replacing Samurai Jack for any news about R&M season 3 would be perfectly justified imo)

Yeah. I've been putting it off for a long time but I'm really enjoying it. I am however finding Rem and Ram a bit overrated.

As someone who mildly enjoyed Re:Zero, thinks it's overrated and doesn't fully understand the hype; Simple statement - episode 18. Is really good. I think that's the climax of the show for me.

Dusted all my PS2 game shelves the other day ... and got the itch to play Digital Devil Saga. Been a long time. Still feels like Nocturne meets Tron. Overlooked, including by me, since I was heavily into Fire Emblem at the time of its release, but still a very interesting game. Very dark, too. Why go in search of your True Self when you can just eat your enemies?

*looks up from reading Critical Failures by Robert Bevan*

The genre has its points, but I do agree that light novels have been overdoing it as of late.
