If Biden had been the nominee he probably would have won, though I also think that if he had been Hillary's main competition and she had still won the primary she would likely have also run the general (I think it's likely the party would have been more united by the general election, even if it had been a more competitive primary).

Sounds like a larger problem than any sort of insurance that you don't have a system that doesn't let you just walk in off the street to pay for an eye exam out of pocket. Why the f*** do you need any sort of coverage for that. If you want insurance for your glasses take out a warranty with the opticians that they'll sell you, like every computer hardware store in the world is trying to push.

One advantage I can see in people having dental/vision coverage (even though they're more regular costs that aren't likely to bankrupt you like getting diagnosed with some deadly illness might) is that they encourage preventative care due to the fact that it's a sunk cost. That ends up being cheaper in the long run.

The dumpster fire of a repeal attempt was both Ryan AND Trump's fault. Both of them look terrible after it.

I think it's a slightly bigger failure for Ryan, but it also "exposed" (quotes because it was obvious) that Trump was completely lying when he said that he was going to give people "terrific" healthcare and that "everyone was going to be covered", that is was going to be cheaper, etc etc. He didn't care at all what went into the bill, and was pulling s*** like gutting the Essential Health Benefits to attempt to get a few votes the night before it was going to be put up. That's not how you f***ing pass major legislation.

"Nobody expected Donald to know the ins and outs of Congress" [paraphrasing] is a true statement, but that never stopped him from acting like it. That doesn't excuse him from never learning more about it in his 70 years of age or taking his job more seriously the past nine weeks. He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt there.

We're also seeing a continuous trend of Donald making excuses for what goes wrong in his administration. Since he announced his candidacy, has he apologized or taken responsibility for anything other than his "grab them by the p****" statements? She's letting Donald sound like a saint when he didn't step up to the responsibility.

This ain't all on Ryan.
