in a game where you can't declare blockers on the opponent's turn, taunt is necessary. it's just declaring blockers in advance, usually at the cost of stats.

plus you can still go over top of taunt with spells and hero powers and battlecries

most high health taunts have low attack that trade unfavorably with similar mana cost minions

if you're running a bunch of one and two drops into a four or five drop taunt, then yeah that's going to happen

and should happen

like the only real amazing taunt I can think of off the top of my head is bog creeper. well and the druid ones, but class cards don't count.

List? I've been thinking about including silence priest in my rotation, it seems fun.

atm I've been rotating between Quest Warrior, Deathrattle Hunter and Beast Hunter with medium amounts of success, but I could use some more variety.

I'm not ready to commit my dust to quest rogue yet :/

I played a silence priest and a res priest in karazhan but they were just not any good in that meta. there's a lot more tools for them now and if I'm not wrong the un'goro meta seems to be a bit slower. if I could update those older decks to work in standard I wonder if they'd actually perform a bit better now.

silence priest always feels like it's going to be gimmicky and not work very well though. I mean don't get me wrong drawing purify to win the game is a hilarious and awesome feeling/moment, but it just does not happen often enough to justify playing the deck when you lose most other games.

res priest can be pretty good -- it's basically just a spell heavy control deck which has a small number of minions so you'll be okay no matter what gets revived. the main problems I ran into is when the enemy has tools to mess with your gameplan. anything that summons small tokens on your side of the board or polymorphs stuff. that means you now have a chance to revive sheep or other tokens which is really, really bad. also since the number of minions in your deck is small to begin with and priest has no burst it's really just win or die. you have one chance early on to have the blademaster(s) push aggro, and one chance later on for the arcane giants to finish the job. if the enemy has removal in hand at the time to deal with that problem (which, lets face it, you're playing against a shaman and they always have removal at the perfect time) then you just lose because you have no win condition beyond hoping your stuff sticks to the board.

re; taunt

taunt is not a bad mechanic but the new taunt warrior I can already tell is going to be obnoxious to play against. I'm hoping it's not any good and it disappears from the meta immediately.

After playing against DDOS Priest, I definitely started to feel how Ulti does. I'm not going to be a doomsayer (I don't have 7 health), but there is absolutely no excuse for game interface abuse to allow you to skip your opponent's turn.

DDOS is hardly the first time that we've seen a deck like this. When Grand Tournament came out, someone realized Nozdormu plus two jousts right at the end of your turn would gradually occupy all of the time on your opponent's. However, it was a really gimmicky and hard to pull off deck. I haven't seen DDOS in action. Is it pretty consistent?

Priest and Rogue are the two classes that I feel are more dangerous the higher you are in rank simply because they know what they are doing a lot better with all the combos and such that are in their decks

Purify is obviously just silly and swingy but a good Control Priest has always been a tough opponent for me regardless of what I play (though you can definitely tech against them)

Yeah, it's pretty good. I've started going pretty hard on elementals, two igneous and two fire flies were already common due to how easy they complete the quest, Glacial Shard and Tar Creeper are really strong at slowing aggro, which is the quest rogues biggest weakness. Since you then have SO many elementals, ive thrown in the Tolvir Stoneshaper too. gg aggro.

Quest priest seems like it relies heavily on resource management. On knowing when not to use your cards so you have answers for your opponents anticipated threats.

But that's just from my experience so far against quest priest, having not played it myself yet.
