Medium - I can tolerate spice to a degree, but don't enjoy it. Adding pain to food seems pretty stupid to me.

Anything more than a touch for a bit of flavor is too much. I don't like spicy food.

I like spicy food, but there should be a balance between heat and flavor. A lot of very spicy foods sacrifice the latter for more of the former.

Habanero peppers is about my limit. Anything more then that and you basically have so much spice that it is no longer enjoyable.

I prefer Medium. Just enough spice to know I'm eating spicy food but not so bad that I just taste spice.

Between medium to hot. If it gets too spicy that it numbs my tongue and I can't taste the food anymore I kinda ruins the experience.

This. I like to taste the food with the spicy being an accent. My tolerance for spicy is high, so when people or advertising says something is really spicy I no longer get my hopes up.

I have a low tolerance but I've been slowly trying to eat spicy food in an attempt to increase my tolerance. My limit is like the classic medium sauce from buffalo wild wings. I actually like spicy garlic and asian zing more, and those are higher on the spicy chart, but they taste less spicy to me for some reason.

Regularly, I prefer something medium. Give it a little kick. Sometimes I want stuff to be hotter. Certain foods are just meant to be really spicy, and anything less isn't the full experience.

This is part of my issue. When things get too hot, I can't enjoy the food anymore. Normally, I like to savor my bites and spread the joy all around my taste buds. But when it's hot, I just have to rush every bite because the longer it's in my mouth, the hotter it gets and the more it burns.

I'd say somewhere in between hot and fire. I love spicy food and am disappointed when things advertised as spicy aren't but I know there are people out there way tougher than me out there when it comes to spicy foods

I'm not seeing any objectivity here. On one hand a good fresh jalapeno stings too much but is otherwise bland and flavorless. Sometimes they are hit and miss though with them being pretty much a green pepper with no heat. Sauces and salsa that are supposedly jalepeno or habanero I can handle fine but who knows what they are cut with. So a habanero sauce could be blistering or maybe even less than a bottle of franks.

I'm not sure how national these would be but its a better start for a baseline that more people can relate to. I do fine with everything minus whatever the highest heat sauces at Tijuana Flatts simply because I haven't tried those. I think its crying face or whatever. Had the habanero barbecue wings at Buffalo Wild wings and they were blistering hot. You could taste things behind it but the heat was too much to be enjoyable for me.

'Hot - My mouth is in pain but I like it'

The hottest I've gone so far is Habanero.

I think I've had Ghost pepper sauce, but nothing close to the pepper itself. I haven't touched a Carolina reaper (yet). Perhaps I'll make that a 'bucket list' kind of thing.
