I'd definitely say a wrestler is more qualified to be a president than a businessman.

Wrestlers have to actually deal with the real world, after all, even when they're mostly actors in a show.

The Rock busts his ass at every single thing he does. He absolutely would make an incredible effort to learn policy and politics. We definitely disagree on some economic issues but I imagine we're much closer on social issues and he's fundamentally a good human being. He'd do a great job.

Dwayne Johnson has been in the public eye nearly as long as Trump (half his life), and unlike Trump, people seem to universally laud him with praise, both for his work ethic and his attitude. He's truly a self-made man who seems to genuinely care for people and appreciates what he has.

If we've really reached the point where celebs can run for and become President with regularity... it's hard to do better than The Rock.

One thing I'm still unclear on is the link between "centralization of the internet" and the broad effect this has on society.

Your argument is usually presented as "centralization of the internet" ---> "dumbing down" and "stagnation" of society as a whole.

But how? What is the mechanism that leads from "centralization of the internet" to those effects?

Centralization of the internet has stagnated growth. Its allowed people who are just loud (Sound familiar with say....our current president, and Obama to be honest) to have even more of an impact because they get people talking about them. The centralized internet also feeds of off dopamine fixes that are very prevalent in getting facebook likes, retweets, seeing your youtube sub count go up, etc.

https://www.minnpost.com/second-opinion/2010/10/why-people-dont-change-their-minds-even-when-faced-facts

Factor in how it takes a few moments to post a meme, or "fact" and get it to spread now, but hours or days (if ever) to get the fact checked and made sure its true, and social media causes immense stupidity. Then dont forget that now you dont even need to be sitting in a stationary place to use the internet due to smartphone mania, and we have a massive problem. People need to take way more steps back from the internet than they do. Its not entirely bad, im not advocating that. I do think internet addiction is the number one addiction that needs to be talked about though, no question, and social media + portable internet phones has accented it to a insane state.
