Dark Samus, Raiden, Lightning, Morrigan, Poison and Dizzy have challenged Diablo and Chrom to a fight! Location of the fight: Arena Ferox (Awakening) - Arena Ferox is as it appears in Fire Emblem Awakening, as an open colosseum. The only areas accessible in it are those within the map in-game. Both attackers and defenders will start at diametrically opposed entrances. Night has fallen on the terrain. Dark Samus and Diablo will benefit from a 25% parameter boost.. Which side will win?

Guidelines

- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.

Diablo has unleashed his Apocalypse attack! All enemies except Poison and Dizzy will be damaged and stunned for the first five seconds of battle.

Morrigan is as seen in Dragon Age: Origins and Inquisition (though she has not drank from the Well of Sorrows), with typical endgame equipment and 3 Lyrium Potions. She has mastered all the spells of the Lightning, Cold, Shapeshifter, Enhancement, Hexes, Anti-Magic, Spirit Healer and Healing spell trees, and Mind Blast. She will be incapable of being buffed for the duration of this battle.

Poison is as she appears in Ultra Street Fighter IV and Final Fight Revenge, with access to all her super moves, provided she builds up the meter to use them. She will arrive to battle 30 seconds late along with Dizzy.

Lightning is as she appears in the endgame of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, with a schemata set-up featuring a balance of her strongest physical, magical and debuffing skills and equipment, and with limited use of Curaga.

Dark Samus is as she appears in her boss fight in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, although she cannot turn invincible, turn incorporeal or heal off of phazon.

Dizzy is as she appears in the Guilty Gear series, at the height of her powers, with access to all her moves other than gameplay mechanics, and she will not self destruct upon defeat. She will refuse to attack anyone unless attacked first. She will follow Poison's lead in battle regardless of her personality, and will arrive to battle 30 seconds late alongside her.

Raiden is as seen in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance with access to all of his weapons (save the Fox Blade) and upgrades available in that game. He doesn't require Zandatsu to recover. He has access to roughly one full bar of energy for Blade Mode and Ripper Mode. He has no mysterious lightning powers here, either.

Chrom is as seen in Fire Emblem Awakening, as a level 20 Great Lord. He is equipped with the Exalted Falchion, Noble Rapier, Blessed Lance, and Gradivus and has the skills Dual Strike+, Dual Guard+, Aether, Aegis, and Rightful King.

Diablo is as he appears in Diablo 3 and Heroes of the Storm, with all of his attacks and abilities, although he cannot turn into his shadow form.

Chrom and Lucina start pretty far away from each other, and if they start at the entrances, they're even further away than that. Is it one of those things that keeps going until it hits something, or does it only have a set range?

I don't think saying a merc jobs to one Lightning Hose for 4 seconds is disrespect at all btw. I mean let's put it in Final Fantasy terms. How many casts of say Ultima from a high level mage are any of these clowns gonna tank? Because I think that's what Lightning Hose's damage output should be on the level of in spell terms if you're just standing in it completely immobile.

Like I said the reason Diablo is kinda dubious in a fight is because his stuff can all be dodged really easily. Against stunned opponents he excels tremendously.

Yes, I'd easily take Dark Samus to tank a ton of ultimas. Like...at least a dozen, minimum, and probably higher. Raiden probably less (maybe half of whatever Damus gets?), and Lightning around the same as Raiden. My durability respect for these mercs is very high. Like really high.

It's hard to be a fanboy of a character whose game you've never played. I just have very good respect for 'only dies to supermode Samus after a protracted slugfest'. I respect surviving getting shot by Corruption Samus for even a minute way more highly than eating an Ultima or three, so yeah.

(Also, there's, y'know, Dizzy here if you don't respect Damus and Raiden and Lightning. Diablo has little in the way of counters to her using her ballin aerial mobility to kite him around.)

This is a more accurate representation of the range of Lightning Hose btw. I think it hit a wall in that one Kanz posted. I don't take Arena Ferox as being much bigger than the arena you fight Diablo in. So it's going to reach across most of it I think. Keep in mind Diablo also has a pretty fast teleport if he needs to get a bit closer to tag them.

It's also sort of a channeled thing so I figure he can just keep using it for as long as he wants.

As for Dark Samus, I mean, for her durability, it basically boils down to "she has pseduo plot armor vs non-phazon physical based stuff." You can't really give her any sort of HP stat nor can you give her an real MDef stat (not that that'd matter vs Ultima cause it pierces MDef-- though Lightning Hose doesn't quite do that to be fair)

I see no real reason to believe in her durability vs magic. If she had any real showings of taking damage rather than no selling I'd give her HP cred-- would frankly give Raiden more cred to survive than her for this reason cause he takes quite a beating.

My personal take is no cause I mean, take whatever version of Samus you think is strongest (doesn't have to be Corruption Samus if you think Hyperbeam Samus from Super Metroid is better or whatever). How much damage do you see her dishing out to Damus in that timeframe? How powerful does Lightning Breath have to be in comparison to go from whatever Samus can do in five seconds against Damus to killing her outright? It's a lot to ask, TBQH.

That video kinda sucks for showing the range, but I found a better one. Based on the video I saw, I don't think it can reach the other side of the arena from the starting point. If they started at the center of the arena, I'd buy that argument, but definitely not if they start at the entrances. In fact, from what I've seen, I don't think Diablo even has the range to take advantage of the stun. And if he can't take advantage of the stun, he's not winning. Team Raiden

This should be the definitive way to determine the size of Arena Ferox btw

Definitely not larger than the arena you fight Diablo in, probably smaller when not viewed in grid form and you can absorb what the scale actually is. See no reason he can't tag with the hose right off.

I just looked at the Chrom vs Lucina FMV to see if the map being that big was just for gameplay's sake, but even that makes the arena look pretty big. I just don't see Red Lightning Hose going from one entrance to another.

Chrom can't give Diablo the Falchion. Nobody other than Chrom can use it, not even Lucina. Marrying Sumia doesn't give her the ability to use it, so it's a no go here.

Chrom can help take out some of the weaker mercs as well while they are stunned.He's pretty quick so he can cover the ground. Plus when the stun is over he would be a distraction being so close to them that the stronger mercs would attack him first when unstunned so thats extra time for Diablo to aoe

Varies depending on your lightning + fire resist. Generally it kills you if you take the full attack though.
