It's a fair concern, but in the case of Wang it would be irresponsible not to call him out, because he does this repeatedly. It's not so hard for him to come out and say "white supremacist movements are bad". So he should come out and say it.

It's a fair point.

Almost every time though it's a matter of pride why someone won't just admit that obvious thing. Maybe he feels it's patronizing to have to say out loud.

She said he son had an african american friend. She is not saying she isnt racist nor trying to. She is saying why she never would have seen it coming. The way she emotionally breaks down she comes off as genuine. Whether she is or not will be uncovered in the police investigation easily.
