i like this 4-6 range as it's a pretty neat climb.
then 7 just confuses me. like either something needs to be merged or you just continue establishing the new tiers and add a gap in between (essentially meaning they'd be 8s).

that's not a terrible idea if we can get some enough mercs to fill the gap between 6 and 8 (right now high tier is where we have the least mercs)

I kind of want an ability that makes a Pure Support fight a Pure Support (mainly because I loved that Keep Talking merc in M4 and was sad no one got him), but don't know who it would fit. Maybe Flagg, replacing his Captain Trips ability. Pick a Villainous PS, your opponent must pick a Heroic PS. They fight one on one for all the marbles. No particular builds, just throw their names down and let chaos reign

Looking at the TVMercs upkeeps we have right now, the power scaling goes more like

1 - Gag mercs with sometimes really good abilities

2 - Guys who can kill the gag mercs with no issue, will have trouble with the 3s. Some human gunners, if badly respected ones (like Indy)

3 - Skilled human gunners, for the most part. They can, as said, probably take out a squad of mooks and be okay

Just to note - 'army soloing' here means something like a modern day army with tanks. I feel like Incredible could do that no sweat (dude is hella tanky), but some others like the Predator are in kind of a weird spot. He's a 'stealth merc' so it's not such a big deal and I feel stealth mercs pay a premium for their stealthiness in power, but it's worth discussing. I feel like the issue is we have very few 'videogame like' mercs per tier, which makes it hard to tell if the tiers are the same or not. Like, we don't have somebody like Ike or Squall, instead we have 'tank + stealth' in the form of Jason or 'megatank' in the form of Eric, which by contrast M4 had none of. I think the tiers haven't changed as much as it seems, but the focuses of characters within them have.

Is t800 arnolds terminator from t1? If so, it loses to a lot of things. I would take jon mclane over it (depending on circumstances). 300 spartans easily over it.

Now that it's been mentioned I actually kind of like this 1-8 set up

the power gap between mids and highs is pretty weird in tv/film, so that extra gap might be helpful. Plus putting the extra high 6s (Genos and Neo are the glaring ones imo) in a higher category might allow for paydowns

Gipsy and Cloverfield need to be bumped back down to 7 imo. 1) there's no way they are significantly stronger than Mechagodzilla, if at all. 2) the other 8s clown them.

Mclanes thing was mostly outthinking people. The terminator is outthinkable. If the 300 swarm the terminator a shield bash is going to destroy the terminator based on what I saw in t1. So if they can close the distance on the terminator the terminator is done. Now if they are out in the open 100 yards away trying to advance in formation, maybe they are done for.

Loki is as he appears in the Thor films and Avengers carrying his scepter and daggers. He may not mind control people.

Lie-Smith (Trigger) - As always, Loki is the undisputed king of misdirection. The first enemy ability directed at Loki's team during Wartime will be redirected at an allied merc of his choosing upon declaration. This ability will then go on two week's recharge.

Upgrades

Character Upgrade

Add the Gungnir spear to Loki's writeup.

Ability Upgrade

Loki may now choose which ability he wants to redirect upon their declaration, if any.

New Abilities:

The Destroyer (Pre-Battle) - Every five weeks, Loki may decide to bring out the big guns in the form of the Destroyer, a gigantic laser shooting robot. This requires a bit of setup though, as Loki will have to preselect a merc on his team to act as its vessel. That merc must be rostered for the Destroyer to appear (consider the Destroyer this merc's assist), and they will spend the match completely paralyzed while the Destroyer is alive. Killing the merc will also kill the Destroyer. Killing the Destroyer will free the chosen merc from their paralyzed state.

Terrain

Jotunheim - A dark, frozen wasteland clear of all Frost Giants. Any area may be accessed.

As of the first season the only character I can see as a merc is Laura Moon. Most of the abilities of the rest of the main characters are still a little too vague to really know what they're capable of combat-wise

Let Our Powers Combine! (Passive) - In order for Captain Planet to be rostered, at least three of Captain Planet's Planeteers must also be rostered.

Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! (Peacetime) - Every week, Captain Planet may assign a Planeteer Ring of his choice to a preselected ally. Each of the Rings contains the same powers in the show, permanently granting the associated powers to whichever ally is selected to be the new Planeteer. The ring will be added to their write-up as if it was one of their default weapons. If an enemy merc happens to somehow take a ring one week, they will temporarily be considered a Planeteer that week (and as such, count toward Let Our Powers Combine). Captain Planet may also choose to give the ring to a different ally instead each week, but only one ring can be given or transferred each week.

By Your Powers Combined, I am CAPTAIN PLANET! (Trigger) - In a high tier match, if all five Planeteers are rostered, Captain Planet will show up to battle as a free assist.

Aldruon Enlenthranel Vosolen Lirus-nor! (Start of Battle) - Once every five weeks, preselect an enemy to trap inside Malchior's enchanted book. When the battle begins, they will be magically locked inside a book placed on a small table in the center of the terrain. On the book will be written the following:

Hezberek Et Morine
Gost Wenthen Verbis Nex
Ind Obrium, Bis Pendrule
Paran Sic Cortis Rex

If anyone from either team recites the words (out loud and in order with the correct pronunciation) the merc will be released from the book, at full health. However, nobody on either team will know this, meaning they must read the passage out loud on their own. The enemy team WILL know that the merc is missing from their roster even thought they don't know why. The book cannot be destroyed in any way. If the entire enemy team is killed before the passage is read to free the merc, the merc will be considered KO'd.

5 seems high for hiccup.l and toothless. He literally got toasted by a rudimentary weapon. He is gonna have hell with rambo shooting him up with a machine gun.

Yeah I'm not sure with him. It's weird because at first it hypes him up so much. He can in canon break the sound barrier while flying and also destroy entire towers in a single blast while moving at a few hundred mph

When he got "toasted" it was mostly luck, to the point where most traditional weapons probably couldn't hit him outside of an insanely expert sniper

But after he teams up with Hiccup he rarely shows the same extent of ability. Kind of have to wonder if he's even capable of flying that fast with Hiccup on him (there's no way Hiccup could physically hold on at the speed of sound)
