Wow. Wow wow wow. Nothing in the topic about Curtis Axel (besides trenchcoat Axelmania shenanigans?).

I had a lot of wake-up thoughts I wanted to post, but I totally forgot most of them. Here's a few:

- I love how on the night Curtis Axel gets random-ass chants from the crowd, he also gets like a three-segment storyline. I loved his almost desperate warble in his voice when he was trying to hype up The Bar, desperate to be on PPV in his hometown. I also loved his overconfidence that immediately deflated when Braun challenged him to put up or shut up, and with how much he wants this, went out and did the stupid thing and went after not only Roman, but swat jacket Shield backstage. That ends well for no one:

- So much nostalgia tonight, GOOD nostalgia.

The Shield entrance was hype;
The Miz' "REALLY?" nostalgia joke (and his help for quieting the "You look stupid" was excellent);
Three on four or five or six? It used to go all the way up to 11, both elimination and gauntlet style!
Cringing (with a smile) whenever Axel starts speaking of 'moments'
Kane vs. The Shield

- One thing I want more than anything from The Shield this Sunday... Rollins' roll over the barricade he used to do.

- I don't know how the cage match ultimately finished because it was a complete mess, but I loved how Kane popping up through the ring to interrupt and chokeslam was incredible not only for seeing the Big Red Machine return and throw those chokeslams with such fervor, but also how... as long as he didn't cancel out the 3v5, that interruption actually helped make things better? I dunno. For an interruption in the middle of a main event cage match, it was easily one of the better ones.

- We actually had multiple women's storylines tonight. Sadly no Nia Jax, but Emma, Alicia, Sasha, Mickie, Alexa, and Bayley all had things tonight separate from a multi-woman 'side vs side' feud. They all felt like individuals which was awesome!

- One thing that was noticeable... does WWE have to pair up all black people together? It felt odd when Jason Jordan came out with Titus Worldwide, and I probably would have forgotten later until Cedric brought Rich Swann out. It was odd.

- I don't fully understand the 205 Live storylines going on, but Enzo's heelish smacktalk is INCREDIBLE.

- Facepaint vs. Facepaint is dumb if they just do their regular movesets. Which the will. Also, I hope Demon Balor's gimmick is stealing the colors of other people's facepaint when he beats them because the demon looked like a Goldust hybrid.

Miz, Axel, Braun, Alicia, Ambrose, Reigns, Angle, Rollins, Kane, Alexa, Mickie, Charly, Gallagher, Cedric, Swann, Kendrick, and Enzo were all excellent tonight.

NOTE: I *had* to list Charly Caruso because this is like the first time I thought she sounded like she wasn't a deer in the headlights script-reading cardboard cutout. She felt like a legit backstage interviewer.

A couple sources have reported that's the booking plan so it can be a non-title match; they want Jinder as champ in December.

Can't stop laughing at the end of that. Owens singing Sami's theme music, HOLD ME TIGHT. This pairing makes SDL must see.

Definitely needed a laugh too, I saw a replay of the Hayward injury. Also scrolled through twitter where someone left a still of the broken ankle. Absolutely disgusting to see. Watching the Cavs bench react was a sign of how bad that was. Hope he'll be able to come back from that, it was gruesome.

My comment was more regarding the fact that it seems like a random episode of Raw than a PPV. 3 women's matches and 2 cruiserweight matches? No WWE title match? I like Alexa, Asuka. Sasha. Swann, Alexander, etc but these don't feel like PPV matches

This is a bit different than SmartGuy looking at Lesnar vs Joe and determining that there is no way we could derive any enjoyment from it

This in a nutshell, basically. Not only is Brock once again MIA, but the main event has both the IC and tag champs in it, so the only belts we're seeing defended are the Cruiserweight and Women's titles. It's pretty much an episode of Raw with a sweet main event added to it.

It'll still have to do a lot to be one of the following...

1) The worst Raw ppv of the year (currently Fastlane)
2) The worst overall WWE ppv of the year (currently Battleground)
