probably on and off part time jobs. worked that job till I got bored of it quit, do nothing till I got bored of that, get another job. better plan would probably to just bounce around seasonal jobs, or places that hire extra staff during particular parts of the year that they plan to can when that season is over anyways.

don't need a job to do either I suppose. I change my answer, i'd do volunteer work. thats provided I I have enough money to live a comfortable life in which I can still afford all the entertainment i'd want.

I think I probably would, just to keep busy and have the chance to socialize frequently. Even if I didn't have a job in the traditional sense, I'd probably pursue something creative that has the chance to earn me money

Not even for a second. I have SO many things I could keep busy with if I never had to work.

My dad has a good six-figure job and his parents were independently wealthy upon retirement. But I already have a roommate, my wife, sorry :( lol

We're not what I'd call rich, but we do okay.

If I absolutely didn't HAVE to?, Probably not an official job, I'd rather let other people who possibly need a job get them, Since ATM I know how it feels to need a job but have yet to find/get one....

Definitely yes. I like to work. Even the pressure of work is something I consider a part of me. I'd get endlessly bored if I'm in a perpetual state of idleness (I consider a life without work as being idle. That's probably because work kinda gives me a purpose; my opinion only though.) Touring, travelling and all that can only satisfy me for so long before I start to miss the rat race.

In all honesty, I wish I'd gotten the German work ethic where busting my ass all day still feels lazy, but sadly I take after my other side... I think it would be rewarding to value a job well done. If I found something I really loved and got paid for it, I'd probably go for it, putting more thought into things, but a lot of the stuff I find interesting is off the table because I've got some minor hip/back/knee issues that don't heavily impact my life at present, but would if I was busy all the time.

I would, but this rigid schedule of 9-6 is killing me. I'd prefer something like 10 or after 10 and working for as long as you like/finish your job, not uselessly sitting till 6 just because its the timing.

I'd imagine that I'm not experienced enough that most people would be fine with me working "a couple days a week" and potentially just disappearing for long stretches of time on vacation.

I'd prefer to work, there's just no way in hell I'd want to keep up the normal 40+ hour weeks. I'd want, like half that.

The problem with this is you're pretty much limited to only ever doing unskilled labour, and I'm just not at all interested in going to stock shelves at the local Walmart if I don't need to.

No company is going to hire an engineer/accountant/hr manager/whatever that only wants to work 2 days a week. Doubly so if your track record is only working at a place for 6 months and then moving on. Unskilled positions will take you because they're used to high turnover rates, but skilled positions take a long time to fill often, and it's very expensive to do so, so companies usually want to believe you'll stick around for a while.

How much income am you getting while not working? Just enough for basic survival? General middle class income?

Generally, a vast majority of people are not working dream jobs they love and would prefer to be doing something else, but would still prefer to have a disposable income that usually requires having a job than having no disposable income at all.

Honestly, that really depends on the organization. There are smaller companies, etc, which really don't need a full-time, dedicated employee in some of those roles (particularly HR or an accountant). And, for more menial/entry-level functions, some companies have a lot of employees who work part-time -- single moms and the like -- because it keeps them from paying benefits, the same trick used by retailers.

The same is true for a lot of marketing activities. Some smaller businesses want a blog or social media presence, but they're not going to hire a full-time employee for that because there's not enough need. So they hire either a free-lancer or a part-timer to put together the content and schedule it for a staggered release (ie, so it populates gradually).
