Yeah, I dunno that she would've really added anything major to all this that would suddenly make it better. Although I will say that Yusuke's mom is a weird character in that I probably shouldn't like her but I kinda do anyway.

I stopped midway through Uncharted 4, I think after I got access to the jeep. I dunno why I stopped playing, I just...did. Similar situation with Zelda in that I just...stopped playing after Kakariko.

I'll pick both games up after finishing Mario, I guess.

That's too bad. UC4 might be the best one in the series. Jeff Zero stopped partway through UC4, but he stops partway through most games.

Actually, I need to see how far he got into Horizon Zero Dawn.

Closer to 2/3. Dark Tournament is ridiculously long. It's also where I lost interest in the series, though I did finish it. 40 episodes for a tournament arc is absurd.

Well, I know Jeff Zero really likes YYH since he grew up watching it, but I just asked him for an anime that he's already seen that he wouldn't mind if I watched without him around, and that's what he gave me.

Yeah, you and I are in the same boat there. It's probably where Jeff Zero and I diverge the most in terms of taste. He prefers long, sprawling series that get a chance to lay a groundwork and slowly build to something over the course of years. That's the mindset of someone who grew up watching space opera though.

Well, Trails in the Sky has been one of the rare exceptions to the rule in the couple years we've lived together off and on, so there's that!

I liked almost all of TitS the 3rd honestly. Even for the parts when the main story is not that engaging the side stories make up for it.

It's actually more like straight in between a half and 2/3
The Dark Tournament ends roughly 58% of the way through the total series.

I mean the more interesting parts of the Dark Tourney are also the longest, which is towards the end, so I'd still say keep going if you can stomach just a little more routine action.

In Yu Yu Hakusho, Toguro punches a lot of people in the gut. Naturally, the tournament draw is rigged to make Yusuke's team fight as many matches as possible because of course. Thankfully, masked fighter who apparently isn't Genkai after all (what a swerve) suggests a battle royale instead of 1-on-1, so we get 3-on-3 in the ring and 2-on-2 outside the ring. As usual, Kurama and Hiei (even with a paralyzed arm) work quickly, so all that's left for next time is the fight inside the ring.

In Hyouka, it's cultural festival time, and it's Eru I feel kinda bad for in this arc because she stresses herself out trying to get out of her comfort zone and do things that aren't natural for her for the sake of helping the club. Her heart is in the right place, of course, but even she recognizes that negotiating and managing people aren't her strengths (which comes back around in the last episode). I can respect that because I struggle to do things I'm not good at, and I don't mean in the sense that I don't do them very well. I struggle to get started on them at all, and I usually end up putting them off until the last possible minute as a result. You can't fault her for a lack of enthusiasm and a willingness to put the interests of others ahead of her own.

Eru even tries to become something she's not by taking a page out of Irisu's book in hopes of success, which naturally falls flat because she doesn't have the personality type for it. She also wears herself out by her tendency to get sucked in by anything that catches her interest. She can't do anything halfway. She sort of reminds me of Yukiko in P4 that way. Yukiko gets fully invested in anything she does, even silly things. I think that's why she's a natural fit for Narukami because his anime personality is largely that way as well. Of course, Hotaro is the polar opposite of Eru in this regard, and I think that's a natural fit, too, so it takes all kinds, I guess!

What, good music? Or Crush 40-esque junk? Mania's music was fine. Like, I don't think the remixed versions of old stages were better than the originals, but they were pretty cool. Mania's Robotnik boss theme was really good, too.

Eh, most Sonic vocal songs are bad. They're occasionally good (It Doesn't Matter being the only one I like enough to listen to on its own) and on rare occasion so bad they're good, but I don't particularly miss it in Sonic when it's not there.
