i think Gaius might be the better way to go. can get more merges and has the HP to be able to afford life & death. Kagero kinda needs swift sparrow or fury to be able to ever get into desperation range. way too much stuff one-shots her with life & death unless you're starting straight out at a pretty high merge level. 6 less atk, yeah but he can get a ton of spd.

I'm kinda doing this wrong. My highest leveled character is Nino at +3. I should probably quit going for quantity over quality.

I stopped going for quantity when I realized that I have enough to field competent arena assault teams.

I thought I'd go in on a merged Nino or Soren, but the game doesn't cooperate with me on that. I somehow have 6 Faes so I might work on a core of Fae, Tharja, and Eirika/Ephraim.

I've got a +Spd -Hp Fae that seems pretty good. With Fury and upgraded Lightning Breath, it's a 37 speed dragon. It's the kind of character that benefits from all the stats the merge gives too

Pretty sad that it takes two designated BowLyn/Reinhardt killers.

i still haven't used feathers for a merge, so my highest is Inigo+2. my approach in FE is always to spread resources around evenly and i always have trouble narrowing down my team <_<

honestly i don't think it's the right move yet to go for merges. it'd take like, 300k feathers to stay in tier 20, and that number will only go up. but i can still alternate from 19 to 20 without any merges..

I have a ton of resources to sweep Arena Assault by now so doing super merges is what's left for me.

For what it's worth, I'm staying in Tier 20 with the mega Felicia, unmerged Ike, unmerged Brave Ike, and unmerged Donnel. They have some pretty high-scoring skills but yeah.

High merge count 4* units are are viable option for permanent Tier 20 and they are much cheaper than a high merge 5* unit.

Arena assault isn't really a problem for me, so my feathers aren't doing much. Yeah, it's not profitable to spend a ton of feathers to stay in tier 20, and you don't lose much bouncing to 19.

I dipped under 60k feathers for this and tossed away summer Xander.

Put together a Lucius with Pain+, Savage Blow in C Slot, and a Savage Blow Seal. He does 24 damage to each enemy within 2 spaces around his target. I have no idea if this is arena viable but it's hilarious to see in action.

I think the "damage after combat" mechanic is kinda garbage because of the nature of the game. Too many bad things trigger at low health. It does sound funny and I kinda wanna try it though.

I tend to get around that with the Hardy Bearing seal. That thing is secretly amazing. I've killed so many Vantage Hectors with it.

I think with more sources of Hardy Bearing like effects it could work.

I guess healers in general already have counterplay with their blinding staff mod

Hardy bearing is never a primary option for my arena teams. If I see vantage in arena assault, it is pretty easy to just pick a unit that will one round it and ignore the ability.

I never summoned colorless much and released most of my healers ages ago. Bride Lyn with Candlelight, Dazzling Staff, and Wrathful Staff will be pretty nice when I get around to that upgrade.

Speaking of damage after combat..... I suppose with the Savage Blow seal, this may be the best opportunity for my +Spd - Att Jaffar(Unless I opt to give him a +Attack seal instead). That bane still sucks though, and my spare is +Def - Res. I'm not sure if I want to give up the speed for +3 attack when Jaffar's attack is already meh.

I willingly chose +SPD -ATT Matthew!

I think Jaffar's stat spread is similar to Matthew's so I can see uses for it-- though less so now that Deathly Dagger actually has a unique use and doesn't have garbo stats.

Honestly I think it only works with Rogue Dagger though-- you kinda need the defense buffs to put him on par with an actual tanky character otherwise there's no point. But I do think like if you made Jaffar focused around baiting ranged attacks and putting Distant Defense or something in the A slot it might work-- like, tank the first shot, hit em with a counter, finish em with the return attack that they can't hit you back for because of Deathly Dagger's special.

I dunno. I'm just saying I don't know if -Atk is crippling on the guy cause his attack ain't great anyway.

But I'm not about to sac a perfect IV Celica so that plan isn't going to work. :P

Isn't it counter-productive to put Fury on any of the dragons, namely Fae, Nowi, and ATiki, since their job is to bait and hit back twice?

As far as QR goes, they will drop out of range with or without Fury. Fury is arguably one of the best skills for Fae or Nowi. They often will bait and get doubled in any case so Fury increases their bulk there.

I chose it to help hit a higher speed threshold for Fae. She will have at least 43 speed when I need her to which can help prevent her getting doubled by faster threats.

It's probably also fine on ATiki. The speed is not really helpful to her but everything else is

not necessarily with TA. and ATiki against non-blue physical might not even need TA. like a +def ATiki with close def and +def lightning breath has 48 def when being attacked in melee range.

I also have TA and bow breaker ready for Fae. That might be better as far as countering horse emblem

Im putting Water Boost on Fae since it makes her an even better Rein counter, boosts Icebergs damage, and makes use of Berkut. I have TA on Nowi and that has been a huge help. Im going to hold out on giving her TA3 in case i get more copies if her and she needs Fury at some point.

Like honestly the more I think about it, HF3 is a huge trap for longish time players that spent at least like...you know, modestly. There's a few units on the banner I'd like but whoops, two Bow Lyns instead. I'd have taken the inferior Genny or hell the exclusive Bridelia over it. I pulled blue to try to get Bridal Caeda because why the fuck not and I got a second Fjorm. <_> Better than a second Spring Xander I guess.

Edit: the banner is super awesome if like, you've never spent a single dime or you don't have S tier luck and are just happy to have a huge boosted rate.

Like I more or less told my girlfriend (who has had insane luck with the game) that you should be happy to just get 5's. Getting who you want is an entire crapshoot. She literally pulled a dupe Deirdre with the free pull (lol) then proceded to pull like two more Camilla and another Deirdre. All in hopes to get a Hector who she sacced for Sigurd. But on the plus side she got a second sword Ike (I have no clue why she wanted another, maybe she's a Super Ike Fan like KP??? (just kidding she's never played a FE before this)

Dupes of most characters on that banner are worth it. Either for +ing a strong unit or skill inheritance.

Yeah she's like really weird about Ike. I don't get it. She hates (or hated) Axe Ike because he didn't have DC. Probably has to do that she started on HF2 and got him early. I'd give her my Ike amiibo but like...I can't even really tell if she likes him because she thinks he's cool or if she likes him because it was her first "best unit" or something. As far as I can tell I don't think she wants to merge him either, nor sac him for heavy blade so ????

I mean Ike is pretty great so I probably think the former but who the fuck knows.

Yeah I mean dupes on the banner is awesome. But I'm more a completionist. Getting TWO more Lyns (I got one for free and the second on the original banner) is just like...really? Getting seasonal units would have been nice. I was pretty salty that my pulls were all dupes (I've been trying to get Mia because she's awesome so I stopped on the all star banner). I don't even really know how well Fjorm holds up!

got Gunter and Fir from my free summons, then went back into Rhajat's banner against my better judgment and somehow got both Faye and Priscilla in two sessions with no greens. Priscilla's no Elise, but it's another healer to farm HM on if nothing else.

...man Faye has some dreadful looking stats. and mine's -atk on top of that. 1 more atk and a ton less spd (even with +spd!) than my 4* Setsuna. she really is just fodder.

Yeah, Faye's stat spread is really bad. Great fodder with firesweep bow is all she is.

Decided to try once for S. Camilla while I could. First session had two greens. First Beruka, then her. +Spd -Res seems workable.

This game is actually one of the more fair gachas. That being said it's so fair you can really get by without spending anything. I spent 40 bucks for the hell of it just to support the game-- never really had any urge to after that though.

I got up to 11% on the Brave Heroes banner with no realistic way to get any more than 5 orbs, so I put $13 more into it. Got a +Spd -Res Brave Ike. 100% worth.

it's possible we're getting 9 orbs in the next couple hours. 5 apology, 2 from the 2.0 login bonus, 1 from Sunday login, 1 from Sunday quest.

though they always delay those apology orbs so much. i wouldn't be surprised if we had to wait 3 more days for the voting gauntlet to start.

I similarly put $13 into the game because of the Legendary banner, I haven't spent the 20, but the 3 orbs pushed me over 40 so I spent some and came out with Spring Xander.
