millenium girl is the enhanced version of 1 which would be followed by fafnir knight (remake of 2) then 3 4 and 5 i do not recommend playin the original versions of 1 or 2 unless u really wanna see the game's roots.. also be wary of playin classic mode on EOU 1 because u can't access the "story" area in that and the game's lvl curve expects u to of gone through that (like an example say ya finished strata 1 at lvl 13 then the extra bit would push u to 16 which would be what the game expects u to be at for the 2nd strata) the 2nd untold game fixes this tho by givin u a quest after beating a strata to access the story area

if ur wondering release order was DS 1>2>3>4>EOU1>EOU2>EO5 so keep that in mind in terms of QoL stuff and what have u

Yeah I think I'll just play the remakes of the first 3 (wonder when the third one is coming out?). And thanks for the heads up about classic mode. It's stuff like this that I feel should be known before I start playing.

Based on the company's obsession with the characters from the 3DS Fire Emblem games, Awakening and Fates, they probably already fuck their 3DS systems on a regular basis. So that specific injury would be completely appropriate for Intelligent Systems after the shit they've pulled with Heroes, and with Fire Emblem Warriors too.

Seriously, go look at the roster for Fire Emblem Warriors. Including DLC, there are 34 total playable characters, and 23 of them are from Awakening/Fates. The remainders are the 2 original characters for the game, Anna (who's in every FE game but was only playable in Awakening/Fates), 6 characters from Shadow Dragon (Marth's game) and only 2 from any other FE game ever made, Lyn and Celica. And I read that those were only included because Nintendo had to step in and tell IS and Koei that they had to. IS and Koei wanted it to be ONLY Awakening and Fates character, and even MARTH HIM-FUCKING-SELF may not have been included!

It's trash. A fucking joke. This obsession that IS has with those two FE games and their complete disregard for the earlier games that were what made us FE fans to begin with is the reason why I'm not buying Warriors, and a reason why I'm considering uninstalling Heroes and never playing it again. Fuck them.

I can understand having preferential treatment to those two because of how well they sold, but I'm saying that it shouldn't be to this ridiculous extent. If every seasonal banner in FE:H was 3 Awakening/Fates characters and 1 from a different game, that would be enough for us. But 5 straight seasonal banners of ZERO characters besides Awakening/Fates is going way overboard. The "Brave" units of Ike, Roy and Lyn are basically the only love that Heroes has shown the older games, and those were only because the fans voted for them in the Choose Your Legends poll. The results of that poll alone shows that the fans still love the older games and their characters.

I'll give them credit in one regard: they've at least been improving in terms of adding normal characters from the other games into Heroes (I mean, they put Dorcas in) so that the amount of Awakening/Fates characters doesn't totally overwhelm the others. But the preferential treatment in the seasonal banners is ridiculous.

But its not, if you consider what i said, being awakenings and fates the introductory series to a huge chunk of the current player base, i mean sure i'd love to see iunno, beach titania or christmas nephenee (because PoR and RD is as far as my FE knowledge goes to), but from a businesses standpoint, it just makes all the sense in the world to just plaster the waifus from those 2 games in this game, because lets face it, its a freaking gacha game, their only purpose is to nickle and dime you so people can whale to get the waifus, they don't care about the singular player that either goes f2p or barely spends money on it.

I've said it before, they aim for that one kind of dude that is willing to spend $1200 on a weekend just to get that one specific unit, and i've seen it happen before and its the saddest shit ever...

Fantasy western medieval setting and what that usually entails, like conflict between nations and overthrown kings. There are usually dragons involved by the end of it. As for gameplay, it's a tactical RPG where you move units around on a grid and defeat enemies or complete certain objectives like reaching an escape point.

It's a pretty extensive series to be honest, it all boils down to medieval warfare if you want the simplified explanation.

X country is being invaded by Y country, and a group of soldiers, usually underdogs, being led by the pure and just have to fight the invading forces, and usually the story evolves (or devolves) in some dark force controlling the invading countries to further their power and conquer the world.

Sacred Stones on the GBA is a good start. I'd also recommend Path of Radiance. Path of Radiance is my favorite.

Path of Radiance on the Gamecube is my favourite FE game. Radiant Dawn, the sequel on Wii, is also great but the start is really rough and I can't recommend it for someone new to the series.

But for an actual serious answer, what Arthas, Cookie and Pop said basically sums it up.

Turn-based medieval strategy with interesting story, fun gameplay, and great characters. The games have permadeath, which means if a character dies, they're dead for good, and if one of the main characters (the "lords" of the games) dies, it's an instant game over. This often makes them pretty tough to beat for new players. The recent games (starting with Awakening) also include an optional casual mode where defeated characters come back after the chapter ends.

Either start with Blazing Blade (for GBA, just titled "Fire Emblem" in the US) if you want what's generally considered the best and most complete FE experience, or with either Sacred Stones (GBA) or Awakening (3DS) if you want a slightly easier game to ease you into the gameplay of the series.

Well, keep reading.

I never disagreed that Awakening/Fates should get more spotlight. Like I said, the problem is the fact that it get so much more spotlight, by a ridiculously wide margin, than all the others. Spotlighting Awakening/Fates characters in seasonal banners in Heroes is fine, but having ZERO seasonal characters from ANY other Fire Emblem game for 5 straight banners is overkill. A focus on Awakening/Fates characters in Warriors is fine, but having more than 2/3 of the entire roster being Awakening/Fates characters is overkill.

The focus on those games isn't the problem. The ridiculous lengths that IS takes that focus is the problem.
