I wish they had given better development to side characters I cared about from season 1 and certainly not at the expense of good important characters like Mikasa and Levi

See, for me this is a failure of season 1. They underdeveloped Eren's squadmates and barely showed his relationship with them. And despite that, season 2 still managed to make me care about them in the end. It turns out they are great characters that season 1 decided to ignore for some reason.

And Mikasa was better in season 2 for me. Loved all the death stares. Loved her going berserk on Reiner and Bertholdt.

Also Eren being able to transform into a Titan felt special. Then it turns out a bunch of people can transform too, so why the hell is he special. Season 2 made him stand out again.

To put it simply, you go "man, I wish Levi had gotten good development in season 2", I go "man, I wish they had given Levi this kind of development in season 1 while he was important".

And I'm not too harsh on ongoing plot threads for ongoing anime especially when they have future seasons confirmed. Though I totally understand how this could be a problem for someone like Leon who prefers watching complete anime and is not used to watching ongoing series.

So yeah, I hope for great stuff for Levi, Jean, and Mikasa in season 3.

I mean Eren is special because he's the only Titan who isn't trying to destroy humanity regardless of how many other humans are turning into Titans

that being said Eren might be one of the major things that's better about Season 2 because they made him so completely over the top angry all the time that he became hilarious instead of just stupid

I feel like they did because they at least gave me enough of a reason to care about him and want to see more of him, and then they give most of the development to characters I didn't care about in season 1 and still didn't care about after season 2 was over

Also it's been terribly cold here for the past week. Highs of -15 and low of -31 (yes that's Fahrenheit) every day. Winter usually has some cold days, but it's just been ridiculous.
