Wolfenstein II - The New Colossus (PC)

And with that, my Wolfenstein run is complete. The New Order hit the sweet spot here and tbh I miss the camp of the oldschool games. The Old Blood was a nice return to the Ghostapo roots but it was meh and The New Colossus was just terrible. What a terrible way to liberate America from the nazis after the hardship and seriousness of The New Order.

Still Life (PC)

Finally beat this bad boy. It was something of a childhood thing for me that I just never got over. I was initially going to tackle it first but then I found out it had a previous game, Post Mortem which I beat early this year.

Microids still at it with their slow ass pacing but thankfully not as slow as Syberia (I still don't get why people love that game, it really hasn't aged well) and thank god you can skip dialogue this time around.

I might as well not have finished it as a kid anyway, seeing as the thing ends in a glorious cliffhanger. Now I can finish this sequel for real now.

Still Life 2 (PC)

Holy shit. I mean, Post Mortem and Still Life 1 were mystery adventure games. I didn't think this one would be any different. But goddamnit, it takes a page out of SAW with no less than 3 antagonists behind each other. 2009 was a good year for this game. It had some really innovative stuff like limited inventory, dynamic 3d environs. They improved the animation at least and its no longer as stilted as the first game.

But I have to say the cliffhanger from the first game was so not worth explaining here.

Watch Dogs (PS4)

Super underrated game. Got way too much hate. I will admit the graphics downgrade is incredibly sad because the game looked AMAZING at E3 2012 but the game still looks good (outside of some of the facial models for the NPCs)

The gameplay is ultra clean and the story is good enough to keep you playing (maybe a little predictable but still exciting). The critics gave this game the right scores, the players were way too harsh.

Watch Dogs Bad Blood DLC

The story of this DLC was fine, but those side missions were horrible. Repetitive and annoying. A lot of the street sweep missions were repeats too, and the game only leaves 3 up at a time instead of putting a bunch up and letting you clear them in order of which ones are closest, so you end up driving across the whole game's map to go from mission to mission cause those are the only ones you can do for the time being.

Again, the main meat of the DLC is good, but the rest ain't worth a damn.

Definitely inspired by Mass Effect (I am assuming development cycles did not overlap), but it was a mess all over the place. At least many of the characters were interesting.

Aaaand I finally beat Leapin' Lava Meltdown in Yoshi's New Island (3DS). 2 years since I got this game jeez!

I still prefer the original on the SNES though. The 3ds levels were a bit too close up that sometimes it was just confusing to puzzle how to 100 percent a level. Still, both games prove very hard and it frustrated me as much as the original did

Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People for PS3

I vaguely knew about the source material from something my best friend showed me in like 2004 or so. Not every joke landed, but a lot did. I enjoyed going through this though I think that I prefer most of Telltale's offerings around this time (Sam & Max S1-3, Monkey Island, Wallace and Grommit). Back to the Future is the one that I think I prefer Strong Bad over.
