The guy was wide open but they missed him because their non-QB passer made a bad throw. Which is my point about that kind of play in general.

The guy was a qb in high school they were saying and it's not like they don't practice these kinds of plays. He just got a little over excited and threw the ball too far.

Both games today looked like they were headed to beatdowns and turned out to be great games. Much better than the Titans Pats snoozefest yesterday.

A lot of guys were QBs in high school but not the NFL.

This seems like the obvious solution. If the lead after the touchdown with no time on the clock is more than 2, no extra point is attempted.

"Obvious solution" and "NFL" are incompatible with each other, however.

Im not certain, but I think if the blocked kick ricochets off of an offensive player first and doesnt touch the ground, it then becomes a live ball and can be returned for a full 6 points.

Not certain about that though.

They could just take a knee anyway. The rule should be you're allowed to waive your right to an extra point try in any situation

That would be an absolutely bonkers rule if true, but I don't know either way. So if it's true I will drop it and admit you're right, but I would add that it's a ridiculous rule as well.

Now that you can return a two-point try/blocked extra point for 2 points the correct call with a 1-2 point lead on a touchdown at the end of the game is a knee.

Screw it, they should just end the game even if it's a <3 point lead. The same kind of pandemonium that makes it difficult to clear the field would probably happen anyway, and fumbling on a kneeldown is like a 0.00001% play in NFL history

I totally made up that number but I think there is only one famous instance of that happening and that was probably before teams lined up with two or three other guys behind the QB just in case
