The goal is to spook enough people that they cast a stray vote. It doesn't matter who they vote for. In this case, they just needed ONE person to stray to force a tie, and two to stray to win outright. PLUS, if you get someone to stray vote, suddenly you have a crack to work with once you get back to camp.

Brendan reminds me of Paul from MvGX - an early boot alpha douche, but low-key alpha douche so that he's not worth hating nor did his early boot feel like justice (especially compared to how justified Bradley's boot would have felt). While it probably DID save him from becoming hate-worthy later in the season, it doesn't bode well for him in my rankings.

too bad it didnt work but eh, it was a bluff to begin with

i do think they could have strong armed Sebastian and Chelsea a little more - vote with us or YOU will be the target! If they got them to verbally agree to do it in tribal that would be so huge for destroying Naviti cohesion., even if they still intended to vote Malolo.

Like others have said, saying Bradley is the target no matter what gives no risk to them - either vote the Malolo's and vote them off, or hit the idol and they lose Bradley. Why switch sides and lose Bradley for sure and show yourself to be a ship jumper?

the tribal was hectic and mike didnt play it perfectly but i dont blame him for giving it a shot
he's a newbie, the stakes were high, and he wasn't sure what he had (and really, we weren't sure where any of the naviti folks were at, given all we saw was bradley stifling everyone)

so yeah, could've been played better, but i like his gumption in the moment. bodes well for him being an interesting character, at least

on the other hand, big ups to kellyn for making the a+ move and not going for the advantage. i think if she loses the coin flip and loses her vote, she totally blows the naviti alliance and possibly ruins her game. we don't even know if it was an advantage she'd get to keep, or something like jacob's legacy toss from ep1. she looked at the immediate concern instead of taking the bait
