You can boil anything down to pattern recognition too. You're seeing a new logo and a new link design breaking some pattern which could be meaningless.

I can easily imagine why a smash 4 port would be hyped up differently than Mario kart 8.

I'm not actually sure it's a port, but there's no hard evidence either way.

now that undertale is coming to switch there's like a 1% chance of sans getting in (with papyrus possibly being there as an assist trophy or final smash or smth if so), 0% of literally anyone else since the skeletons are by far the most popular characters

This is the biggest thing hinting toward it not being a port, I think

Why hide the roster if it's a port. If it's a port that's just adding new characters, they could have easily showed all the current characters

It just looks more epic with the silhouettes. Especially with the Inkling Girl being overblown by it all and be like "**** what's this". That wouldn't have been as strong if they weren't silhouettes.

By the way, the default Dojo has changed to a vanilla page with just the title, trailer, and date. In the bottom right corner is a link to the SSB4 Dojo, and in the bottom right corner of THAT page is a link to the Brawl Dojo.

I'm leaning towards "new game" myself but I'm also prepared for the possibility that it's Smash 4 DX.

And I'm happy either way.

I keep thinking how I skipped Smash 4 because of not owning a Wii U. But then I remember I got it for the 3DS.

I mean, I stopped playing it pretty early on, and missed out on the superior console play and DLC characters, but I still "own" it regardless.

The 3DS version just doesn't feel like a true Smash Bros. experience.

It's why I don't see them putting in so many resources into a brand new game when they could repackage smash 4 for an audience that never got to experience the Wii U version.
