The Cardinals pitcher just hit a 2-run homer against the Brewers, continuing the Brewers bad playing against St. Louis.

So ESPN was arguing on their Get Up new show that the women's final four was more exciting than the men's. I don't know about that, there was an 11 seed in the men's final four. my big issue with women's college basketball is the huge drop-off from the handful of elite teams. it's not just UConn anymore, but it's not very many teams that have a shot at winning it all. It was all 1 seeds in the women's final four.

What do you think, am I just a huge sexist? I enjoyed watching the women's final and it was a good game. Idk, the final four itself probably did have more exciting games than the men's final four. I think every one came down to the last shot. Both semifinals were OT games.

Yeah. Idk, I think it's just the whole no underdogs thing that gets me. It's just not as cool for four 1 seeds to be going at it.

But the womens Final Four was cool. UConn gets stunned in OT, and the title game was exciting. Unlike the snooze fest that was the mens.

The twins always seem to have so many days off at the start of the year. Is that scheduled like that because of the weather? It's been snowing for 2 days and it's 20 and the home opener is tomorrow or the next day... That sounds like fun

Do you guys feel attached to your alma maters? I wish I had at least gone to a more interesting state university, whether that would be Missouri or Illinois or somewhere more extravagant and distant (unlikely, fourth child in a single parent household that I was). I don't give a shit about my school at all anymore, but it would be fun if I could at least be like "oh nice, that's where I went!" and actually mean it when someone says that's where they went or where they go. It would also be nice to care about college sports but that was probably never a realistic hope for me.

I'd say I do. The sports teams for all the main 4 sports have been disappointing, but it's biggest/most well known school in the state and I go to a game or two a year. I still live pretty close and my brother goes there. I also met most of my friends (not high school ones obv) one way or another through going to school there.

Absolutely. I've donated money to them multiple times and will continue in the future. I love wearing UF apparel and getting a "Go Gators" back from a stranger on the street. I should have gone back last year to a few basketball games but my family changed our plans at the last minute.

I feel way more attached to my undergraduate alma mater than I ever will to my current graduate school.

Not only am I not attached, but I almost actively dislike it at this point, some of which I'll admit is due to me being an extremely bitter person lately over my lack of success. But it gets annoying to constantly hear about what a great school it is for career opportunities. That might be true if you want to work in petroleum or mining, but most of the other industries/majors just seem average to me. It's also frustrating trying to go to career fairs and networking events dominated by those industries. Then you have the student body, which is/was mostly a bunch of right-wing fuckfaces, a large portion of whom think they are rednecks and cowboys even though they're from upper-middle-class families.

I don't think I own any university-branded swag anymore. I didn't get rid of it for the above reasons necessarily, but because I don't really care in general. Now that college degrees are so commonplace and meaningless, I feel like that kind of showing off is almost as lame as showing off your high school (unless they have actual sports teams, but that doesn't apply for me).

What kind of game design videos? I remember for a brief period I'd eat up those kind of "deep analysis" videos, but then I realized they're pretty much bullshit that people like to watch to pretend they're smart. I mean, they make some valid and accurate points, but I've seen a lot that just reduce a game to numbers when instead I could just play the game and judge it on my own enjoyment factor
