Since the dawn of time, we've fought and argued over Cartoons and Anime. What's better? Are cartoons anime? Is anime a cartoon? Who would win in a fight, Bugs Bunny or Kenshiro? We may never know the answer to these questions, but what we can do is systematically eliminate them round by round to find a winner.

A while back I ran a Save That Anime and Manga Character, with Dio Brando taking the win. More recently, Kajagogo ran a Save That Cartoon Character with Lion-O taking the win. I've put together the Top 50 of both contests, pitting the best cartoon characters against the best anime characters. Will Dio claim victory again? Or maybe a new character will take it. Who knows? Only time will tell. What I can tell you is that things are gonna get a little weird, they're gonna get a little wild.

Rules

Right now, you can save up to 2 characters an hour.

Right now, characters need 3 saves from 3 different users.

Characters are saved based on the order in your post, so it's advised to save your favorites first.

Please specify saves instead of specifying elimination.

The last remaining character will be eliminated.

I noticed that this top 25 significantly leans toward the male side... again. I looked up the results to the original two contests, and the top 25 in this one has the exact same male to female ratio as the original Save That Anime Character contest: 18 males, 6 females, and 1 genderless god-cat-thing. The original Save That Cartoon Character contest was even more lopsided, with only 5 females reaching the top 25. Could we see this change and potentially end up with our first female champion? Only time will tell.

Another interesting statistic worth mentioning: only 3 of this contest's top 25 did not also reach the top 25 in their original contests: Dr. Robotnik finished 44th in the original Save That Cartoon Character contest, while Freddie and Spike finished 39th and 36th in the original Save That Anime Character contest, respectively.

I know. That was my girl Nanoha, and I was ecstatic that she finished that high. On the Cartoon side, Jessica Rabbit had the best finish of any female at 3rd place.
