I can understand some of it because they can be a little obtrusive, but not the shampoos because that's just a hygiene issue. And I'm familiar with the term because I knew somebody who allegedly had a fragrance sensitivity.

This so much. Although it might be meant as "only unscented shampoo, etc." Unfortunately, although unscented hygiene products may exist, acquiring them sounds like enough of a hassle that the employer should either provide them or, at the very least, provide a list of "approved" products. Then there's the whole issue of scents in prescribed shampoos and creams.

I'm just tired of working next to vapers and smokers. I purposely-avoid the smoking areas outside and then the people just walk right back inside, their clothes scented with nicotine or vape, of which either usually spray perfume or cologne to mask it.

I totally agree.

I was never bothered by smokers until I had an office next to a true chain smoker, the stink wafts around the door and into my office and I still smell it on me when I leave the building.

The guy probably smokes like every 45 minutes.

I hate to tell people what to do, but I have a very sensitive nose, I can smell perfume from across the room, and often it's overpowering when someone gets close to me. I hate it, but I try not to let anyone know.

There are not many people like me though, it's crazy to tell everyone they can't do something they like just for the few of us that it disturbs. If it's really bad, I'll just avoid being near them as much as possible.

I wouldn't tell someone, you can't wear perfume if you work for me, or something like that.

That is rude.

And shampoo etc? Seriously, I have never met anyone with my sensitivity and I don't even have a problem with shampoo.

I don't think it's a huge deal, but I don't think I would personally like it. I like to smell scented lotion. And even use them, sometimes. Also, I would spray one little spritz of cologne, and my female friend would constantly compliment me all day. And even take a sniff everytime they walked by. I like that. Haha.

Usually it's something like no perfumes/colognes and no applying scented lotion or cosmetics while at the office (hairspray, axe, whatever).

I had to ask for this implemented at a workplace (someone was setting me off with daily migraines) and became the office pariah

it was real fuckin nice to not smell perfume all day

I think there's some miscommunication going on. Krazy_Kirby was just saying he didn't like the smell of the cologne and perfume. The reason Revelation34 was mentioning hair is because the poll mentions a completely scent free zone. As in also no hair products, which would include scented shampoo.
