You were actually watching a TV show?

I'm reading the Midnight Texas series, which also is currently a TV show (But they are very different). I just decided I wanted to watch some more lol, and then realized I was reading a book, not watching the show.

I think it has to do with me watching the TV show first, so I picture the characters as I saw them in the show. I usually do the reverse (read the book, then watch the show), so this its the first time I can remember this happening to me.

It was a very strange feeling.

I don't think that's a thing that's supposed to happen...

I can imagine the book I'm reading but I don't confuse that with watching tv.

I think I know what TC is saying, but he worded it extremely poorly. But I'm really not sure.

Hmm, I can see that I did word it poorly.

I wasn't actually currently reading the book, I just wanted to get back to the story, and thought at first it was on the TV, until I realized I was reading it, not watching it.

That happened because at first I was actually watching it on tv, and THEN I decided to read the books. So now my mind just automatically went back to the first format that I was following the story on.

It also may just be that I'm getting old and senile.

Do you mean you used your imagination while reading?

Nah, I've always pictured things while reading, and often continue stories when I go to bed etc, this was different.

I basically got confused because I watched the TV show recently, and was reading the book earlier in the day. When I decided to continue the story, I forgot, or got confused and thought it was on the TV, not in book format.

It's due to having just recently watched the TV show, and then after that, read the book. I have never had the reverse happen. This is the first time it has happened to me which is why I asked if anyone else had experienced it. Might only be a thing that happens if you watch a tv show and read the book right afterwards which you have pictures of the characters from the show fresh in your brain.

I normally come up with my own pictures for them, but if I read a book AFTER watching a show, I just use the characters from the show in my mind. In this case, that led me to think I was still watching the show I guess.

I'm occasionally gotten manga and anime details mixed up (and comic vs adaptation). Not sure if it's happened book vs film/tv, mostly since I'm less likely to follow both.
