Everytime I forge a weapon, I don't really come up with a name

I just write filth and profanity over the weapon's actual name

so I have BUTT Lance, ASSel Axe, and BUALSord

The only time I DID name it was a spear called THOTPOKER

She randomly approached him, started talking about love, giggling, implying he was handsome. Like the most popular girl in school trying to get a nerd to do her homework

it SERIOUSLY is coming off as a ploy. It at the same time, it wasn't. Like, I can see them saying "How can we convince that man over there to join us?" "Oh I'll put on that schoolgirl charm teehee"

but ...WHY? If Roger was the badass leader of this platoon, I could understand. but he was just ...SOME guy

but like I said, it wasn't like that at all. It was just RANDOM she decided to talk to some guy and he ended up joining. I definitely don't think she had an ulterior motive.

you have to catch them before they get away, so it's usually good to reach them right while they're opening the chest.

Can't they open more than one chest and then you lose out on everything except the most recent item they got? It was like that in the GBA ones and I don't remember if they changed it for this one.

I don't think it works like that in this game, usually there's one Thief set to go for each chest and they run away as soon as they open it. There's one map in particular I can think of where there's a bunch of chests where you can't even kill the Thieves before they open some, but they'll only ever open one and leave the rest behind. I can't say with 100% certainty but I assume the AI (go to specific chest, open specific chest, escape) works the same for all Thieves.

An important note about Julian, since we're on the subject of Thieves.

Similar to Marth he cannot promote, but he can be raised to level 30 (just like Marth). Neither of them can change class, either, so they are permanently locked into the Lord/Thief roles.

No. The Thief class itself is special, like Lord or Manakete (plus another one I don't think you've seen yet). Those classes don't get to reclass or promote or anytung like that.

they always get me out of a pinch

I also have some fondness for Lena and Ogma

Cain, Abel, and Frey have continuously pulled their weight too, especially Frey. Glad I didn't canon kill him!

Clerics don't really matter too much. Just use whichever one has the highest staff rank.

the game has a lot of REALLY strong units. only downside to this is that if you're making a core team and you're trying to use the best units it's going to be the same every time. there's like 8 characters who are Tier 1 and not much reason to use any of the other entire army of units.

very little difference between them as far as I know. mobility is the best attribute that a healer can have, and I think in this game they all have more or less the same movement. higher magic will mean they heal a little more HP per cast, but it rarely makes a difference.

if they have a high staff level already, as mewtwo mentioned, you could just use that unit. saves you the trouble of having to raise their staff EXP.

you don't really need stats on your healer because if you're playing the game correctly they'll never be targeted anyway.

Any character that's a princess can use that staff, so there's actually a surprising amount of users for it. It's just that the majority of them need to be reclassed to be able to use staves in the first place.

So I'm in the next chapter and There was a guy called Heimdall or something

He had a portrait, but he had no dialog, he didn't say anything when I attacked him, nobody could speak with him, and he didn't say anything when he died

and he wasn't the main boss

so its kinda weird they gave this guy a portrait and a name but he wasn't important at all (I hope)

They gain the ability to use attack magic if you promote them, so they won't be completely helpless if you promote them.

Yeah, promoting by leveling was only in the Tellius games. You get enough seals to promote a decent amount of people, but I'd prioritize the other guys unless Wrys or Lena got really good level ups and they'd make a really good attacker.

in PoR, you could promote units without an item by just leveling them to "21" essentially. but in Shadow Dragon, like most games, you do need the item.

and yeah there aren't too many. at least not in a reasonable timeframe. you get the 7th and 8th in chapter 19, and none in chapter 20, so that's basically the cutoff point i use - choose 8 people to promote. maybe Lenna you could push back to chapter 21, but healing gives a ton of exp in this game so that'd waste quite a bit of exp. or maybe Est since she joins so late anyway, but i've never used her and if i did i'd probably want to power level and promote her ASAP.

Est is pretty useless in this game since Catria has better growths in everything except strength (and Catria still almost caps it on average) and luck, plus Catria joins 4 chapters earlier and 2 levels higher.

I did the next map

it was filled with those projectile contraptions

so ...I BROUGHT JAGEN OUT OF RETIREMENT

I also changed Minerva into a Paladin and benched Caena

I needed to cover alot of ground and fast before those things ripped me apart

I also brought in that other female paladin and SURE ENOUGH she talks to the unique unit here

whats funny is he actually attacked her and almost killed her, which initially led me to believe I wasn't supposed to make HER talk to him

but sure enough when my turn rolled around, the talk option came up

so I'm thinkin I'm gonna jump ahead to Awakening after this

it would probably be ideal to go to Radiant Dawn, but I have a feeling it'll burn me out if I do that

I think I recall hearing Awakening being pretty different, for them evil "casuals" and those anime lovin weebs

so it'll mix it up enough for me I think. Plus...I gotta say, casual mode sounds pretty nice right about now

While I did say I keep going if I lose a unit, I STILL try really hard to not let that happen. These fights are super stressful and calculated and sometimes they last me 20 or so minutes.

Its alot of pressure on me and sometimes it doesn't always pay off, I don't feel accomplished! I enjoy the games, but it takes a toll on me!

Echoes is probably better. FE2 had weird mechanics that Echoes kept that'll keep things fresh, plus it has casual mode and a limited rewind option.

Mixing it up is good. Echoes I recommend as a game when you're finding FE is getting to be too much of the same, since it's probably the most different. Awakening's a pretty good one to dive into whenever. Radiant Dawn is my personal favourite but it definitely has that pressure you described in a heavy way early in the game, so I'd pick it up when you're in the mood for that.
